TV shows you hated as a child

I will start

I disliked Blue peter as a child and still do.

Mr Boom. My mum took me too see him live once but apparently I was terrified and refused to go in.

Dr Who. I was afraid of the Darleks! I hide behind a cushion!

Antiques roadshow and songs of praise... always reminds me of being bored on the weekend back in the day of just four channels

Tiswas- too chaotic and people throwing stuff at each other, it made me anxious! I was a funny little kid

Me too! As soon as the Dr Who theme tune started I would hide behind the sofa.
I was born in 75, at school we watched some weird programme about a blonde alien boy called peep peep (?) scared the crap out of me.

Jackanory. Boring!

Oh and as a child I hated cartoons...which is weird.

Oh I found it, fucking terrifying.

Rentaghost. God it was awful.

When I was nursery they used to show Come Outside. I hated dogs at the time and used to scream/burst into tears at the sight of Pippin. I don’t mind dogs now of course!

My daughter used to love come outside until the end bit when pippin is just sitting there. She would burst into tears everytime. Had to make sure I turned it over before the end

Tails of the Unexpected

Lots of programmes that scared me. I was even scared of the Goodies. But those public information films or lifeboat day ones. People being washed out to sea, people getting electrocuted, people playing on rail tracks. But I suppose that, at least, makes sense.

Heart beat

The pink windmill thing with grotbags and rod hull and emu. Hated rod hull. Hated emu. Hated grotbags. The whole bloody thing was terrifying

I hated blue Peter too. DH also hated blue Peter. Both of our parents also hated blue Peter. The children hate blue Peter.

None of us can in any way understand the nostalgia for it.
