I disliked Blue peter as a child and still do.

OP posts:

Magpie, Magic Roundabout and Banana Splits.

acsec · 12/01/2018 16:08

I hated The Raccoons!

LooseAtTheSeams · 12/01/2018 17:23

I still remember the noooooooo! from me and my brother during the summer holidays when the announcer said 'And now an animated film from the National Film Board of Canada'. That might not be the exact name but they were so boring! The BBC must have bought them very, very cheap. Maybe we were just too used to the gratuitous violence of Tom and Jerry!

Dancergirl · 12/01/2018 19:18

Did anyone actually like Blue Peter?

Me, I loved it Blush And my dds went through a phase of liking it too around the ages 7-9 or so. They have Blue Peter badges.

Dancergirl · 12/01/2018 19:21

Armchair thriller was good too

OMG I remember watching that when I was off sick from school. Think it was on mid-afternoon on ITV. The opening titles really spooked me out - an armchair under a spotlight and creepy music.

Dancergirl · 12/01/2018 19:24

My Grandma used to babysit us on a Saturday night - she really didn't worry about suitable viewing for 3 small granddaughters

If you think that's bad, my mum let me watch Hammer House of Horror for some reason. I had nightmares for months after the one where the house bled to death. I wouldn't go upstairs on my own!

Dancergirl · 12/01/2018 19:25

Sorry just seen that mentioned upthread Blush

thenettyprofessor · 12/01/2018 19:34

Let's Pretend and Blue Peter also

Lotsofplanetshaveanorth · 12/01/2018 19:50

The list is long

Edna the television terrified me and I didn’t like anything chaotic (so no chucklevison or bodgrt and badger) as the mess made me feel anxious. To a certain extent I am like that now ... don’t like those sort of comedies where you can see the hero es just walking in to stupid situations, I shout at the tellybox like a complete tool.

When I was older we were only allowed 30 mind of television a day so I didn’t like fridays because that was ‘round the twist’ which I didn’t get at all and thought was for much younger children compared with Grange Hill or Byker Grove.

Lotsofplanetshaveanorth · 12/01/2018 19:51

(Posted too soon) so would feel cheated out of my 30 mins when it was on

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 12/01/2018 19:51

I used to LOVE Pipkins and Rainbow!

Blue Peter and Jackanory were boring. Noel Edmonds and Mr Blobby always felt like a corporate vision of 'fun' without any heart, somehow.

My DS loves Blue Peter and is desperate to win badges.

I liked watching 'Holiday' on a Sunday evening with my family, I found it incredibly exciting cool kid.

Inmyownlittlecorner · 12/01/2018 19:54

Willo the wisp used to make me feel very uncomfortable. Can't think why.
I hated mastermind & a question of sport, but I loved the holiday program & wish you were here!

Lotsofplanetshaveanorth · 12/01/2018 20:03

DH just said anything where the characters lies themselves into corners used to really upset him. Poor sensitive soul (and well matched to me!)

HippyChickMama · 12/01/2018 20:18

Fraggle Rock made me feel nauseous for some reason. I hated it when it was a Blue Peter day as opposed to a Grange Hill day after school. And when I was a bit older I couldn't bear the Big Breakfast being on in the morning before school, far too noisy and colourful at that time of day.

DreamyMcDreamy · 12/01/2018 20:38

Blue Peter - borrring.

Jackanory - borrring.
LOVED reading books, still do, but watching somebody reading books out loud....... zzzzzzzz Grin

Why Don't You?
Is that the one where the catchphrase was "why don't you turn off your TV set and do something else instead?"
I'd be like "you're a television show telling people to turn off and not watch you, what's that all about?!"

onemorecakeplease · 12/01/2018 20:59

Formerbabe I came on to say antiques road show and songs of praise too!

Slartybartfast · 12/01/2018 21:12

I loved watching Round the twist on a Saturday morning on my twenties

OlennasWimple · 12/01/2018 21:16

The Sullivans (TV soap)

The Littlest Hobo (great theme tune though)

Knightmare (terrified of what happened when the ogre caught you)

BayLeaves · 12/01/2018 21:26

I grew up in the 90s and I hated Power Rangers.

SimultaneousEquation · 12/01/2018 21:28

Blue Peter. I found it achingly boring and still do, and despite it being one of a very few shows I was allowed to watch, I usually didn’t bother.

Ohyesiam · 12/01/2018 22:34

Crackerjack, with the moronic demonic Crankies. God how I hatred it. When i found out the " little boy, " was his wife, it's the first time I ever thought " god that is so weird "and got the proper creeps.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 12/01/2018 22:39

The House that Bled to Death! My granny used to let me watch the Hammer horrors. Anyone remember the Omega Factor? About 1979, midweek, very scary, set in Edinburgh. My parents let me watch stuff like that.

Middleoftheroad · 12/01/2018 22:50

Ivor the Engine
Highway to Heaven
Camblewell Green (and the other similar show)
Blue Peter
The Clangers
One Foot in the Grave
Sesame Street
Little House on the Prarie
The waltons
Last of the Summer Wine
Antiques Roadshow
Songs of Praise
One man and his Dog
Ski Sunday
Grandstand

Middleoftheroad · 12/01/2018 22:51

Most Sunday shows in fact....bar Spitting Image and Tales of the Unexpected. Spitting Image was a game changer!!!!

flissfloss65 · 13/01/2018 00:21

The Onedin Line. Was on a Sunday night and if I hear the theme tune it still makes me feel all weird and down.
