New thread lassies for all things Jamie and Claire (and all things in between).

Only two episodes left! Hope everyone enjoyed episode 11.

Where is it on?
I only have Netflix atm.
I watched series 1, 2 and 3 on Netflix.
I am watching it again and seeing so much more in it.

LonelyOversharer · 02/11/2018 18:19

end you neeeed Amazon Prime. Worth every penny!
Come on monday!

Florabella · 02/11/2018 18:45

I saw that video from Sam about winning a date - it was the most cringeworthy thing ever!!!

I won't be able to watch episode 1 until Wed or Thurs so will avoid this thread for a few days before I can catch up

LonelyOversharer · 02/11/2018 18:53

Win a date with Tad Hamilton - a really dire film. SH will end up with a tartan wearing mad eyed Heuligan who will abduct him and keep him in her basement, feed him only parritch and grass, and expect him to do unspeakable things to her. He surely does not need the publicity.

JennyfromtheBroch · 02/11/2018 19:30

I'm not sure he'd come as Jamie for me so will let someone else win it

Grin

Do you like my new name

Shall we put spoiler warnings in the title too? Last season we had book spoilers throughout.

What are we all looking forward to most? I am looking forward to FINALLY seeing Fraser's Ridge. I've avoided all the behind the scenes so far!

quirkychick · 03/11/2018 07:34

Oh, yes, it's much more fun with book spoilers! Saw another interview for Build (?) on YouTube with Sam, Sophie and Richard, where they skirted around spoilers, which seemed a bit silly. Apparently, they have put in a few surprises for book readers for things that "don't work on screen" aka DG weirdness of plot. Sophie Skelton came across really well and there's definitely a clip in the trailer of her dressed in 18th century gear (but not as a man/Jamie) at the stones with a pompous Frank voice.

JennyfromtheBroch · 03/11/2018 11:42

Were there any really daft moments in DoA? I’m not a fan of the Roger/ Ian plot but it’s not wildly unbelievable.

crumpet · 03/11/2018 12:39

I don’t think there is anything which lives up to the barking-ness of the pirates/shipwrecks/Bakra etc of book(or season) 3 - compared to that everything is pretty mundane (and I am desperate to see it all!)

Lessstressedhemum · 03/11/2018 14:28

Is Doable not the one where the ghost of Ottertooth saves Claire's bacon when she is caught out in a flash flood/lightning storm? Then she finds his skull under the tree she is hiding beneath.

I don't much like the Jamie/Roger/Ian thing but I think it's reasonable realistic. I can't think of anything else too outrageous off hand. Do you think she'll do hernia surgery on the dining table at RiverRun or will that be too much?

JennyFromTheBroch · 03/11/2018 14:48

I'll be disappointed if she doesn't!

You're right! And her shoes appear on the doorstep

I really hate the Donner storyline. Hope they do away with that in the next few seasons. Poor Claire.

Lessstressedhemum · 03/11/2018 15:04

I know. He is awful. Nothing much would be missed by leaving him out.

crumpet · 03/11/2018 17:34

Yes the magic shoes was odd, especially as there was no real follow up - no similar magic has occurred again in any of the books as far as I can recall

susurration · 03/11/2018 21:34

I wonder what they will cut out. Two more sleeps! So excited.

JennyfromtheBroch · 04/11/2018 21:07

I am ridiculously over-excited Grin

TempusFuckit · 04/11/2018 21:42

Is anyone else going to Prime Video every hour or so to check in case it's been added early by mistake?

DryWhiteagainW · 04/11/2018 21:57

Tempus me

snozzlemaid · 04/11/2018 23:29

Me too!
I don't have work tomorrow so I'm going to stay up and see if it appears at midnight.
If not I'll watch in the morning when everyone's gone to work/college.
Can't bloody wait.

blibblibs · 05/11/2018 05:15

It's there Grin
Only I have to go to work now and can't watch till 2pm.
Enjoy it for those lucky enough to watch earlier

crumpet · 05/11/2018 10:02

Loved it. Some imperfections but overall bang on track - very satisfying indeed.

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 05/11/2018 10:28

Ok. So I can't tell the difference between Young Ian and Stephen Bonnet until they open their mouths.

And we have Marsali but no Duncan?

And where's Murtagh. I was promised Murtagh!

Lessstressedhemum · 05/11/2018 10:47

The end was brutal!

It was really, really good. The juxtaposition of tenderness and violence just made it even more shocking. A load of HH folk are up in arms about the music choice and how it's unpatriotic and anti American! I don't think they might understand irony very well or, indeed, juxtaposition.

JuneFromBethesda · 05/11/2018 10:58

We’re only two three pages off starting a new thread - shall we start afresh for the new season?

I had a sneak peek at the first episode this morning - it’s very dangerous working from home! I’m out this evening (and every Monday) so will catch up tomorrow.

quirkychick · 05/11/2018 11:09

Well, that was good... I'm going to have to watch it again sometime soon. I heard that about the use of "America the Beautiful" too, but it shows how it was born out of such a wild country.

Lessstressedhemum · 05/11/2018 11:25

So, I made a new thread but I can't get my tablet tocopherol the Web address to make a link. I am mortified Blush

Lessstressedhemum · 05/11/2018 11:25

Good grief! To copy the Web address, obviously.
