New thread lassies for all things Jamie and Claire (and all things in between).

Only two episodes left! Hope everyone enjoyed episode 11.

ToniMumsnet · 28/11/2017 19:36

Glad I've found you all. Hopefully, I'll get to see the new episode tonight.

ToniMumsnet · 30/11/2017 22:32

I really enjoyed this episode.
I am so glad that they skipped the bit where Jamie somehow makes over to the ship she is on, but after she has jumped off. Get captured, then escapes and pretends to be a French soldier in order to get back to the Artemis. So very dodgy.

I loved the turtle soup scene. The wedding was just lovely and Mr Willoughby is becoming one of my favourite characters this season. What a surprise.

ToniMumsnet · 03/12/2017 19:46

TBH I am quite concerned about this episode. Are they going to have the murder and Willoughby on the run. Obviously not the murderous priest, but something similar and the whole crocodile bit.

I am really hoping they dump most of it.

ToniMumsnet · 03/12/2017 22:12

Yes LJG is something to look forward too.

ToniMumsnet · 05/12/2017 19:24

I thought it was interesting how they weaved the story into this episode. I am so glad they did away with the stupid murder storyline and Jamie playing at a foppish dandy.
But not happy with Jamie getting arrested at the end. Was that really necessary?

I just get fed up with these endless plot devices to separate the two of them.

ToniMumsnet · 10/12/2017 14:52

I have a feeling I may have to wait longer. All this snow is looking like schools may be closed tomorrow. ARGHHHH!!!!!

ToniMumsnet · 15/12/2017 20:23

I just binged season 2 of 'The Crown' in an attempt to placate the droughtlander. Now it's on to Godless. Which is different.

I still have 2 seasons of Black Sails to go, but I am trying to ration that a bit.

I just don't know if Steven Bonnet can match BJR. I mean he was just so good and so evil. It was quite something. But Bonnet, I just never felt the peril and excitement when he appeared that you got with BJR.

Hopefully it will be better when adapted for tv.

TinselToesToniMumsnet · 24/12/2017 10:53

Off on a slight tangent here, but to help curb my droughtlander I am binge watching 'The White Princess' It's on Drama or UKTV Play. Its one of Phillippa Gregorys Historical fiction novels based on the Tudors rise to the Monarchy.
It's no Outlander, but it is a lovely diversion when I have finished work and the costumes and sets are amazing.

TinselToesToniMumsnet · 24/12/2017 22:33

Merry Christmas!!

ToniMumsnet · 06/01/2018 09:33

I have wondered about the strange ghost figure of Jamie too.

I have wondered if it's related to the fact that in the later books Jamie seems to be able to see his family in the future. He has in his dreams visited Brianna and her children in Lallybrock and when they arrived in Inverness.

Is it his dream self Visiting her. I may be remembering it wrong, but I'm sure in one book he mentions seeing her brushing her hair in a dream.
But after reading 7 books it can all get a wee bit hazy.

ToniMumsnet · 06/01/2018 10:43

I know what you mean Less. All of this second sight stuff does feel like an afterthought.

JenMumsnet · 02/02/2018 21:50

I think your right Quirky. I'm sure I remember her talking about an infatuation with a surgeon.

JenMumsnet · 17/02/2018 15:05

I've nearly finished book 8. I don't know if it's worth reading any of the LJG series of books or just rewatch from Series 1 again.

JenMumsnet · 25/02/2018 14:16

I'm on the last book at the moment and it is driving me mad. I am finding it quite convoluted. When is book 9 due out?

JenMumsnet · 27/02/2018 18:17

I was DGs webpage and it looks like Bees is not the last book. THere are going to be 10.

I'm not sure i can face 2 more books in the series.

JenMumsnet · 27/02/2018 19:32

You are so right, there is no coming back from this one.

JenMumsnet · 01/03/2018 20:59

Yes, Jamie does grow as a character while he's at Frasers Ridge and Clare seems to find her place.

JenMumsnet · 06/03/2018 10:16

I thought Cambell was the killer. Didn't he admit it when he was talking to Claire At Gellis's plantation?
But it has been sometime since I read book 3.
Finally finished book 8. The ending was a bit speedy that seemed to skip over loads of the plot without any explanation.

JenMumsnet · 06/03/2018 16:59

Yes, that's it Willoughby killed Campbell and the sister went off to be a seer for the guy wearing the crocodile head. It's all coming back t me now.

JenMumsnet · 07/03/2018 09:28

TFC does take quite a while to get going.

JenMumsnet · 30/03/2018 10:07

He is a good choice for the crown. The last I heard it was that guy in the Avengers. I think he would be much better.

I do miss Black Jack Randall.

JenMumsnet · 15/04/2018 15:10

I've just been on a short break in the Highlands. I didn't do anything specifically Outlander (unless you count Culloden).
But it is so atmospheric there it has really added something to it all.

It really feels like one of the last few places in the UK where you are truly in the middle of nowhere.

Fantastic.

JenMumsnet · 18/04/2018 18:01

It really is so different. I've spent a lot of time around Fife, but the highlands are just a whole new world. Incredible.

JenMumsnet · 27/05/2018 15:01

I could barely recognise Billy Boyd though. He looked too serious.

JenMumsnet · 16/09/2018 17:34

This last 6 weeks until its back on feel like they will last forever.
