You're all still here!

Am getting twitchy for s4. I watched one of those awful stills-photos with computer one-tone voice talking too quickly over it you tube thingies that said that Bree's entrance in s4 was not going to be through the stones, and a real divergance from the book. Will trawl through my youtube watched list to see if I can find it.

FrasersRidge · 27/10/2018 22:02

How else could Bree time-travel though? The stones are half the point of the story!

Maybe they just mean that they won't show her journey?

Lessstressedhemum · 28/10/2018 00:23

Is there not a bit in the trailer of her at the stones with Frank doing a pompous voice over?

quirkychick · 28/10/2018 08:05

LonelyOversharer those YouTube videos are really awful, I watched some of those on the last season. I can't see why they would miss out the stones, they're so much of the story and the image is so associated with the show!

LessStressed I think you're right about the pompous voiceover. Don't the later books have quite a few flashbacks and letters etc. from Frank? I know they put quite a few of those bits into the Boston scenes in S3, presumably for continuity and also for logistics of using Tobias Menzies in one go rather than in little bits through lots of seasons.

Lessstressedhemum · 28/10/2018 08:43

Aye, the books are full of wee snippets of Frank. Letters, memories etc. Claire even thinks about him sometimes when she is in bed with jamieShock As if!

crumpet · 28/10/2018 20:56

FrasersRidge, I had the opposite view - i’ve Really enjoyed the promo. Have only seen a couple of references to CB engagement out of so many promo photos/clips/interviews and panels.

On the other hand I have seen a ton of frothers banging on about her engagement though, as if she became engaged to personally insult each and every one of them - extraordinary behaviour, but fascinating to observe as an anthropological exercise!

Lessstressedhemum · 29/10/2018 08:11

Absolutely, crumpet. Then there are all the crazies who rant about the change in her relationship with Sam since she got engaged. How they have lost their closeness, how they look uncomfortable with one another, how they no longer have flirtatious banter etc. etc. As if you can tell that her partner has somehow objected to their friendship and Catriona has ended it to keep him happy!

WidoWanky · 29/10/2018 19:56

I am so excited!! Can't wait!! But i wont be watching until xmas when i shall binge watch - so i have to wait even longer😢

In the meantime, i will very soon be coming off all outlander social media so i dont ruin it with spoilers.

I am a fool to myself!!

JuneFromBethesda · 29/10/2018 22:13

Hello lassies! I only came over to Telly Addicts to post something about Making a Murderer, saw this thread up near the top and then I see that it’s only two weeks to season 4 😳 I haven’t been avidly following trailers and the like so this is a very pleasant surprise (and certainly beats the torturous waiting for season 3).

Holidayshopping · 29/10/2018 23:27

LESS than a week to go!

DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2018 10:06

Hello pagan everyone...it’s like an annual reunion .
I’m very excited.....particularly about seeing more of wonderful RR.
June I’m watching M a Murderer at the moment.
Haven’t really caught up......what do I need to know? (Apart from loony theories about CB and SH relationship changing since engagement......as if they didn’t have relationships before. People forget that they are ACTORS!)

DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2018 10:06

‘Pagan’? AGAIN

quirkychick · 30/10/2018 10:36

Grin DryWhite it always amazes me that grown adults cannot tell the difference between reality and fantasy. As you say, they are actors, good actors, it's their job to play the parts convincingly.

On the historical front, I've worked my way through Ekaterina, the rise of Catherine the Great, and I'm now half way through the second season of Versailles. Lots of lush costumes, settings, sex and machinations in both! I'm going to be so ready for Outlander...

mateysmum · 30/10/2018 14:14

We may need a new thread for S4.

Any witty title suggestions?

Lessstressedhemum · 30/10/2018 17:30

What about something simple like Lassies of Fraser's Ridge?

JuneFromBethesda · 30/10/2018 18:04

I like that Lessstressed

quirkychick · 30/10/2018 18:12

I think we will definitely need a new thread for S4! That sounds good, Less.

snozzlemaid · 30/10/2018 18:14

Perfect thread title Less
I can't wait. Will be sitting down first thing on Monday morning to watch once everyone's gone to work/college.
I'm really looking forward to more of RR too, will be good to see Roger develop especially when they go back through the stones.
I like the Young Ian character too and Rollo of course.
It's been a couple of years since I read them all so I've no idea what happens in this season.

DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2018 19:25

Yes , titles need to have "lassies" In it

LonelyOversharer · 30/10/2018 19:30

I'm finding myself really excited for monday!

Annoyingly since s3 I not have a full time job...so it's either get up stupid early or watch after tea on monday night. Gah. My days as a lounge lizard are over.

So if Jenny isn't is s4 why are there stills of her and Ian at the dockside? I assumed they were seeing Bree off to America. I've a feeling they have put a load of random guff out to keep us guessing.

blibblibs · 30/10/2018 19:46

Oh I haven't seen those stills Lonely, I really hope she is in it.
I've been watching loads of interviews with them all but I'm going to have to stop, I much prefer them as their characters so would like to just pretend that's who they are Blush
I'm so excited I'm contemplating getting up an hour early on Monday to watch before I leave for work but I do that at 5.30am normally so not sure I'll manage!
Liking the new name too.

DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2018 20:54

Damn I thought it was on Sunday ...an extra day boooo

mateysmum · 31/10/2018 11:40

Remember, remember the 5th of November.

Just realised I am out most of Monday and the DH (not an Outlander fan) will probably commandeer the remote in the evening. Can't bear to watch Outlander with him in the room making idiot comments. He has not taste!

I can see myself staying up late to drool over Jamie watch it in peace.

Lessstressedhemum · 02/11/2018 10:33

Has anyone seen that thing aboout winning a date with Sam to the MPC gala? Oh, if only (sigh), but I would need to be 20 years younger and about 4 stone lighter and still able to go to the gym!

blibblibs · 02/11/2018 16:11

I've seen it, but I'm not sure he'd come as Jamie for me so will let someone else win it Grin
