I saw that too, there's a Starz YouTube channel that has the new opening credits too.

cropcirclesinthefields · 13/10/2018 16:54

I'm re watching season 1 and I'm finding it very graphic, now yes I've seen all of GoT and yeah there's a lot of sexual scenes but not as graphic as the prison scenes. I saw that it's rated 18 but it is brutal, I know that Sam took himself off to the highlands with whiskey to decompress after filming those scenes.

MattLeBlancVest · 13/10/2018 20:38

I've just binged watched all 3 series and looking forward to the next. Really enjoyed reading this thread. Hope you all come back for the next series.

quirkychick · 13/10/2018 21:01

cropcircles those scenes are hard to watch, I agree. The first time I fast forwarded a lot of it, but have watched it properly since, and they did do a fantastic job. I can see how hard it must be to emotionally go to those places as an actor, all credit to them.

crumpet · 13/10/2018 21:07

I never did manage to watch the Wentworth scenes - the bits I did see were very hard to watch. It is a pity in a way as I think they could have conveyed the horror without being so graphic, but by not doing so they’ve limited their market slightly.

quirkychick · 14/10/2018 08:11

crumpet iirc, the Wentworth scenes were cut into the rest of the action, with Claire et al, trying to pull together the rescue, so they weren't long, sustained scenes. I think the worst thing was BJR toying with Jamie, at turns sadistic and then "loving" and the fact that there was a very intelligent, calculating personality behind the cruelty, so as much mental as well as physical anguish. I think the books, we only find out after, as it is Claire's pov, from both Jamie's injuries and what he later tells her.

I think Stephen Bonnet will be a very different type of villain, more not caring what he does than relishing it especially. It will be interesting to see. One of the YouTube interviews (the Paley one) SS alludes to having researched what Brianna goes through and the aftermath and it being challenging. It was a no spoiler interview, but book readers will know what she means. I suppose the Wentworth scenes reinforce Jamie's reaction to Roger, as he feels the need to (mistakenly) avenge Brianna.

Florabella · 14/10/2018 12:13

There's one this in season one that bothers me. At the start of the wedding Claire tells Jamie she can't Matt him as she doesn't even know his real name. But at the end of the previous episode she is sitting on the mood looking at what must The the marriage licence which has his full name written on it!

quirkychick · 18/10/2018 09:15

Florabella I think we're supposed to assume it hasn't got Jamie's name on it yet, but it is definitely a plot hole. I can't remember if the marriage licence is in the books at this point or not.

susurration · 18/10/2018 10:05

New images from Starz Outlander page on Instagram this morning, that look like shots of them building the house and around the house. Am so excited, it's only two and a bit weeks to go.

Florabella · 18/10/2018 11:00

I was sad enough to pause it and check that his name was visible - I really need to get a life 😂😂😂.

Yes, I saw the new clips! They are keeping Murtagh under wraps though aren't they. Can't wait until the new season

Florabella · 18/10/2018 11:01

On the Outland FB page there is a Vanity Fair article that has quite a few new clips

susurration · 22/10/2018 17:21

Two weeks today guys! Two weeks!

I saw a clip on Outlander tv on Instagram today, where Claire is telling Jamie a war is coming in 8 years. I always forget the span of time from book four to eight is about 10 years. I know logically time must move on in the books but it feels all very standstill when I read it.

blibblibs · 22/10/2018 18:35

I can't bloody wait.
I started reading Drums hoping I'd be finished in time for S4 starting and I'm already on ABOSAS!

snozzlemaid · 22/10/2018 21:50

I'm very very excited. Can't wait to see new adventures they have and new characters.

blibblibs · 24/10/2018 21:47

OK, this next bit might have spoilers if you haven't read the book and I can't remember if they are allowed here!
So spoiler (just a wee one!) to follow

I've just seen that Laura Donelly (Jenny) won't be in S4.
That's a real bummer as it was such a good part in the book although I am curious to see how they work round it. I hope they haven't cut all of the Lallybroch scenes though.

Florabella · 25/10/2018 07:09

That's really disappointing- I loved that part of the book. I can't imagine them doing the Lallybroch scenes without Jenny though.

susurration · 25/10/2018 15:12

I have a funny feeling that they're going to ignore the lallybroch scenes and go straight for the Americas. I don't know whether I saw this or not, maybe I imagined it, but I think there was some talk in one of the magazines or a scene in a trailer where Roger tells Bree about the newspaper.

blibblibs · 25/10/2018 17:12

That is definitely in one of the trailers but there were also pictures of Leghair filming earlier in the year which makes me think there will be some sort of Lallybroch storyline.
Keeps us guessing I suppose Smile

crumpet · 25/10/2018 18:42

Jenny was an awesome character, it will be a pity not to see her this time. Still very excited though!

mateysmum · 25/10/2018 21:28

I hope Jenny is still around. If they are going to make it to book 8, they need to keep the actress under contract! The Lallybroch scenes are quite important for Bree's story line aren't they?

Lessstressedhemum · 26/10/2018 08:55

Yes, they are important for Brianna and for other characters like Lizzie. They need to keep Laura Donnelly contracted if they are going to keep the thing going after book 6. Maybe they will just have Jenny off somewhere delivering grandbabies or something although, there appear to be a good few changes this time, so who knows.

I am so excitedGrin

quirkychick · 26/10/2018 09:24

blibblibs it's definitely ok to post spoilers on this thread. That is a shame about Jenny, I wonder how they're going to play out the Lallybroch scenes, then. You're right, Instagram had a picture of Brianna and Laoghaire, so it looks as if that's not going to be missed out.

susurration the trailer does show Roger phoning Brianna to tell her about her parents, or at least it heavily implies that, but that could just be clever editing!

The time is getting close Smile.

susurration · 26/10/2018 17:08

Thanks! I thought I'd seen it somewhere.

FrasersRidge · 27/10/2018 17:47

Jenny doesn't appear in the books for a long time. I don't know if they'll even get there- think the actors are contracted for six seasons and they're all supposed to be in their 60s by the last book Grin

Slightly disappointed in the promo for this season, clicked on one interview and it was mostly about CB's engagement. Rubbish!

Is it definitely November 4th for Amazon?

Lessstressedhemum · 27/10/2018 18:19

November 5th. It comes on amazon on the Monday morning.
