Surely Phelan will have to get his comeuppance by Christmas?

Mind you, I hope Anna gets sent to prison too.

The most unbelievable story line of all according to DD is that a wealthy, attractive man has fallen for Gemma. It's the final straw apparently and just too far fetched.

lizzieoak · 01/12/2017 22:47

Anniehoo - exactly, “celebrating the ordinary”. Very well put! I want that plus a few more affairs, job problems, teenagers acting up, bad mothers in law than in real life. Not constant murder, mayhem, and jail time.

myusernameisnotmyusername · 01/12/2017 22:55

Following on from the post about Kate Ford playing the psychopath really well I think she is a brilliant actress and seems to love playing Tracy. She is my favourite character by far.

scrabbler3 · 01/12/2017 23:34

I agree that Kate Ford is great. I like David Nielsen too. Sue Nichols. Jack P Shepherd. Malcolm Hebdon. Sally Dynevor. Chris Casgoine. Jane Danson. Also, the actors who play Bethany and Luke. There are some talented people there, but they don't have much to work wth because the writing is so poor.

I think the list of current characters is far too long. They need to reduce it.

Akire · 01/12/2017 23:40

Am I the only one that gets confused with theee woman looking so similar. Aliyah nurse and the other one. When all together mixed up who’s who.
Unrealistic that he make his wife leave professional job to work in cafe, when he’s got the other one who runs bistro to get on with it.

Not getting where going with arich guy either, poor Gemma no wonder she’s confused. Can’t see them bringing in more people but we have just lost 2 so maybe.

Akire · 01/12/2017 23:45

Seemed have glossed over HIV story. Surely he would start meds and possible side effects? Wouldn’t he have had to contact other girl friends? No issues with him say cutting himself and then being concerned if say someone tries clean it up. It’s like you have HIV ok live carry’s on as normal. No getting your head around it or anything.

Do we think Mary is secretly doing something to George? Giving him food say? She certainly did before.

CoolCarrie · 01/12/2017 23:49

That scene in the back of the van was cringe worthy, I don't think I'll be watching any more either.

10kToBe · 01/12/2017 23:55

The scar is a silicone prosthetic; the Corrie make up department have an Instagram page which is really interesting!

10kToBe · 01/12/2017 23:55

The party that Gemma went to - whose party? Why? where? Did I miss an episode?

Akire · 02/12/2017 00:03

No the party was strange out of thin air annocement- she had found ace party online (Facebook) which she went on her own without knowing anyone there. Made rich guy then place got raided by police and she ran off leaving her shoe. He found her this week after asking around , though we took it Party was quite far away.

Grunkalunka · 02/12/2017 10:54

Yes much was made in the media of the Seb HIV story - seems its been dropped. Seb is living at Sally's but there is no sign of him (where was he at Sally's mayoral party?). Where is his mum and who was Lacey, how did she get HIV so young? Why has he not asked about /visited his siblings? How is he really feeling? These are the things that need to be explored- carefully and with humanity and feeling. They introduce something out of the blue an dthen drop it. Surely, being pushed off the ladder and having brain surgery is enough to deal with. The writers seem to want to just keep piling it on (look at Robert).

I think I'm done after 40 years of mostly regular watching. I record the Classic episodes on ITV3 which are positively Shakespearean compared to the current dross.

EB123 · 02/12/2017 11:08

It was nice to see Eva this week. I would like to see her and Adam getting good together, I think they could make a good couple to watch.

The George storyline has to be food/flower allergy. I hate what they are doing to Marys character.

Mc180768 · 02/12/2017 11:28

As a conspiracy theorist I am thinking along the lines of Munchausens by Proxy. Angie is harming George and making out it is Mary.

Realistically, strawberries (in winter) are more the likely story as someone said up thread. Beth also had one in her hand when she was holding George.

Anna needs to get a grip. Placing her deranged state in front of a jury is guaranteed to get her banged up for years. Stealth love, stealth.

Adam is gorgeous.

Luke is gorgeous

southeastdweller · 02/12/2017 11:38

I record the Classic episodes on ITV3 which are positively Shakespearean compared to the current dross.

I watched yesterday’s double-bill and the differences in the acting and writing compared to now is stark and I actually felt quite sad to realise this.

AmIthatbloodycold · 02/12/2017 14:37

I've not really watched for weeks but why is Anna locked up. There is absolutely no evidence that would even lead to her being charged let alone kept on remand. An earring. I despair Angry

AmIthatbloodycold · 02/12/2017 14:38

And I wish Gemma would stop talking with her mouth full of food. It's gross

lizzieoak · 02/12/2017 14:44

She rain off leaving her shoe? So the writers are so hard up for stories they’re raiding Cinderella?

MusicToMyEars800 · 02/12/2017 16:35

I'm living in hope that this rubbish will improve by xmas, hopefully Pat will get his comeuppance and Eileen will stop being a gullible mare.

Mary is annoying me every time I see her, her character used to be brilliant.

I like Tracy.

Adam and Eva would be great together.

I wish Zeedan would get some luck, I do like his character.

nibora · 02/12/2017 16:42

I can't be doing with Aiden, he reminds me of a boiled egg, got about as much personality as a boiled egg as well.

Anna's like a nodding dog, her head never stays still, up and down, side to side, wiggle, wiggle.

That's two people I can live without.

eddiemairswife · 02/12/2017 16:47

The Rover's, The Bistro, Roy's Rolls, Kebab Shop, Dev's proposed Chippy, and now Zeedan wants to open his own cafe; they are going to run out of people to eat in them.
I had the omnibus on this morning while doing some paper work. I was surprised how much I hadn't really picked up on during the week's episodes. I think they have so many really short scenes that a moment's inattention means you miss something vital.

JeanSeberg · 02/12/2017 16:51

So why do we think will happen to sabotage Gemma and Henry's relationship? Can't have them happy, especially coming up to Christmas!

Grunkalunka · 02/12/2017 17:37

Maybe Henry's parents want him to marry or something so Gemma is perfect to introduce as his fiancee to really rile his parents??

nibora · 02/12/2017 17:41

I expect Henry and Gemma will marry, very, very quickly, with lots of posh relations open mouthed and looking down their noses. So many possibilities for silly story lines and disastrous goings on.

Reee aaah will warble sing at the reception.

Shame I'll miss it.

nibora · 02/12/2017 17:42

Cross post, it's so gonna happen.

scrabbler3 · 02/12/2017 17:47

Henry's romantic interest in Gemma is not realistic. He must be up to something. No wonder Rita was concerned.
