Surely Phelan will have to get his comeuppance by Christmas?

Mind you, I hope Anna gets sent to prison too.

Linus and his half-brother James Roache played father and son. Linus was the son of a girlfriend of Ken's from University. Ken didn't know about him, because a letter from her had not reached him. James was gay and Linus disapproved, so Ken wanted no more to do with him (Linus). Whether the gay grandson will turn up one day is anyone's guess.

cloudyweewee · 28/12/2017 12:42

Thanks for that, eddiemairswife I thought I hadn't imagined it.

ellenanora5 · 28/12/2017 13:10

Was it Kens grandson who conned Sophie/Sally/Kevin out of money, something to do with religion and a homeless center/soup kitchen/bible group.

As you can tell my memory of it is shit but it was something like that anyway.

I think I said on a previous thread that Daniel reminds me of the chap that played Tony Warren in the film about how Coronation Street started, it was a good film.

Eastie77 · 28/12/2017 14:25

@ellenanora5 I vaguely remember that storyline but thought it was Ken’s long lost son who was the con artist. Now I think it must have been his grandson. So confusing. I just remember he punched Ken when his con artistry was found out and then left.

Watching the classic episodes it seems that Peter’s personality as portrayed in the 1980s by the previous actor (Ken’s real life son?) is completely different from feckless Peter of the 2000s.

I also find the current Susan storyline a bit silly because prior to last few weeks no-one in the Barlow family ever mentioned her. Peter didn’t seem to remember he had a dead twin until a couple of weeks so the mad acts of revenge all seem so contrived.

eddiemairswife · 28/12/2017 14:37

I'm still waiting to find out what has happened to Vinny's mother.

scrabbler3 · 28/12/2017 15:38

Vinny's mum has been busy playing confused, delightful elderly ladies in Liar and The Tunnel. She was also the judge in Claire and Ashley Peacock's child custody case about ten years ago, and one of Blanche's mates in the One O'Clock Club. She gets about. So she could be anywhere. 😀

yawning801 · 28/12/2017 17:04

scrabbler Wasn't she one of Emily's friends too? When they held the auction in the Rovers and she said something like "Norris can squeeze a pound coin so hard the queen's eyes bleed..."? Maybe she's escaped her nursing home and fled to Peru! Cue massive "FIND FLORA MCARDLE" storyline until she'd found on a sunbed with Emily Grin

ShowerGel9 · 28/12/2017 17:21

Billy was a few meters away from that cliff....How did he fall that far back? Did wind pull him back?! Did he walk the few meters back to the edge of the cliff and peer over just to be nosy?!

I love the character Daniel. Such a breath of fresh air.

I don't like GINA. She makes me feel weird and uncomfortable and she's boring.

deloresclaiborne · 28/12/2017 17:51

Carla as all this money and yet she still wearing the same coat she left in last year and its the same as michelles.
Chesney and sinead make ken look interesting

lizzieoak · 28/12/2017 17:58

Ditto on Gina. All that nervous energy makes me nervous! And yet she’s dull as well. She buys ugly dog plates, not scintillating stuff. Not - Corrie writers!!! - that I want murder and mayhem 24/7, but if people are buying ugly dog plates they could be funny about it or ... something!

Falconhoof1 · 28/12/2017 18:42

Did I miss an episode after Adam took the overdose? I saw him down the pills and vodka, then he was right as rain again in the cafe. And Ken mentioned to Billy about it but there was not (as far as I remember) any Adam recovering in hospital or anything?

LoveMySituation · 28/12/2017 18:57

No you didn't Falcon, Daniel found Adam, he refused an ambulance, puked, and made an instant recovery Hmm

LoveMySituation · 28/12/2017 19:02

Apparently James Roache played the young Ken in the Road to Coronation Street. That was a great programme

ellenanora5 · 28/12/2017 19:51

Eastie17, it could well have been his son, it's a long time ago and there's that many storylines it all gets confusing.

LoveMySituation, I didn't realise he was related to Ken, that's funny because Daniel always reminds me of him.

ChevalierTialys · 29/12/2017 19:47

Tracey and Steve again, really????

Also, if Carla has renal failure she can drink alcohol but she can't drink bloody lemonade! Good research script writers!

blackbunny · 29/12/2017 20:00

Brian is living in Roy's flat above the caff, right? So he's inviting Cathy and possibly Alex to join him, meanwhile Roy's asking Carla to move in too
Here we go with the elastic walls again...

cloudyweewee · 29/12/2017 20:07

I assumed that Brian was going to move into another flat with Cathy.

DarkDarkNight · 29/12/2017 21:20

We seem to be going down an addiction to painkillers storyline with Billy. Two episodes now have focused on him pressing the patient-controlled button.

I quite like Steve and Tracey back together again.

Didn't mean to post any spoilers for Vikings being as this is a Corrie thread, Sorry

Not to be difficult but Ragnar's fate is well known in The Sagas so not that much of a spoiler Confused

AnneEyhtMeyer · 29/12/2017 22:14

Please stop zukie - I reported your last spoiler post and it was removed, and was obviously not done on purpose, but to continue talking about it is really unfair.

Sorry!

I honestly did not realise I was posting any spoilers

As I said before I just thought this was a Corrie thread, and I wrongly assumed that Vikings fans would have watched all seasons and know the story

My apologies

Leaving the thread now 😓

AnneEyhtMeyer · 29/12/2017 22:20

Don't leave zukie.
