Anyone watching this new series by Kay Mellor?

Not a bad opening episode. I wish I knew I'd needed tissues sobs Rebecca Flack (I hope I have her name correct) is playing a good baddie.

Too much packed into each episode at the moment. It's all getting really improbable. And all the scenes with Ashley J and Vera's sidekick.....faces inches apart and whispering.....In a busy office!

Just catching up on last night's episode.

A close friend of mine is a registrar and said the chasing after the sham marriage girl is totally against procedure and that registrars would not be involved in going out to somebody's house and it would be the border agency who would get sent out in the event of any dubious arrangements.

I'm still watching this but I don't know why. The trans storyline is doing my nut, not sure why they had to make out like his wife was prejudiced when many wives are left totally bereft by a man who decides he's really a woman.

What a load of bollocks today's episode is proving to be. Why would she see the file and not remove it immediately?

Much as I felt a bit sorry for Ashley Jensen's character's being caught out like that I now feel it must be a bit shitty for everyone else working with all that going on.

MrsJamin yes, I am sure many women would be totally bereft if their husband decided he wanted to be a woman. It is certainly not something that can just be pushed aside. Ashley Jensen's character's being surprised James/Jamie's wife is so angry, I find that quite annoying, why should she feel she knows how the wife feels!

I find the trans story line interesting but I hope the wife will not be portrayed badly. So far I am not sure she has been. She did not ask him to to dress as a man. She pointed out she, as a woman, was wearing trousers and said no make up. I don't think that is unreasonable. I expect any woman separated from her children would be willing to go in trousers and without make up to ensure she saw her kids.

How long are they going to drag this video thing out for!!

It's not surprising Emir got tipped off given how they kept loudly talking in the office about the police raid on the shame marriage!
I like the series though. I like AJ although I used to find her annoying because of her accent (I'm Scottish btw before you flame me!)

AJ is vastly judgmental while thinking she is very hip and right on! I can't really think of her as anyone but Mr Madden's girlfriend in the first Nativity. Not literally the first one!

Tino Rick trying to sabotage, I like that idea! I can't see what she would see in Rick with such a hunky partner at home. But then sharing her home with two kids. A step kid and his girlfriend and a colleague, I doubt much passion takes place there!

It is shockingly shite but I do really like it!
