Anyone watching this new series by Kay Mellor?

Not a bad opening episode. I wish I knew I'd needed tissues sobs Rebecca Flack (I hope I have her name correct) is playing a good baddie.

I quite enjoyed the first episode but I think that might just be that the cast is great. Tonight was OTT and I'm not sure if I'll watch next week.

Yes, this episode was over the top. Not sure about the young bereaved dad being there all day, seemed rather bizarre. Last week's episode was so sad, but they should have left his story there. Hope he isn't going to become a regular character, that would be so implausible. Sadly, Ashley J is beginning to get on my nerves a bit, and I normally really like her.

It’s such a busy series, way too much going on for me at the moment for me to invest properly in any of the stories. I’m glad the blackmail story ends next week.

Anyone know where her blouse was from? With the yellow sleeves and black floral pattern on the main part. Been hunting EVERYWHERE :(

Just watched the first two episodes back to back and absolutely bloody loved it. Yes, you're all absolutely right about its implausibility and compulsive need to squeeze another far fetched shock factor into every 30 seconds, but it's the most watchable telly I've seen in ages! voldemort - I spent the whole episode trying to work out whether it was a blouse or part of her dress...

Kate will confess to Rob about the strong room rumpy-pumpy, their relationship will be over and Kate will marry Simon instead.

It's great isn't it. I am already addicted!

MyBrilliantDisguise "She's going to get into trouble about the name on the baby's birth certificate. She was silly to do that." I agree that will come back to bite her on the bottom?

Slinking "Most of the scenarios in last week's episode have happened in my register office (apart from the sex in the strong room I think - our local authority are too poor to afford CCTV grin) but not all on the same day. " Glad to hear it, that was too much drama for one day!

I also don't believe they only have one loo!

Giraffey I absolutely thought 'bingo' especially after today's same sex wedding. Complete with flower boy! It's lovely and all but I can't imagine many children wanting to sprinkle flowers!

The least plausible thing for me is that she would be shagging her colleague, clearly fancying him, and then asking her long term partner to marry her! Not likely.

I cant understand how they keep interrupting anything going on, she barged on on Judy in her meeting and then the Jamie character came in while she was dealing with the grieving father.

I'd like to see a second series because I find Ashley Jensen really likeable but they've not left many story ideas for the next series have they?

Oh loads more stories!

All the women could get pregnant, Rebecca front's character could decidecahe is a lesbian, an unhappy member of the public could try and burn the registry down, someone could get locked in the strong room while shagging! So much more to cover!

might even end up with a lottery win before Gaynor Faye makes an apperance

I think Judy's husband left her for another man!

Rebecca Front was in Nighty Night, now that was good Grin

Loving it, but the teen daughter thread is really bugging me ... I can't believe this character would have let that creepy text thing and the changed password and the expensive ring just drift. There's flawed and there's flawed no?!

You like the dress? Seriously? It's as bad as the programme. It would have been ok as a shirt but there's way too much going on with it (again, like the programme!!)

Report
voldemort777 · 25/11/2017 23:14

@notacooldad not for me - was on the hunt for my mum. Had been googling for ages. Smile

The top bit of the dress was nice and looked good with the biker jacket. I didn't notice the bottom bit and when I saw it it all together it was too much 'patchwork' like.

I find the tone a bit odd, lurching from fairly larkey to tragic and then sometimes a bit lecturing. I do like the cast though, so will stick with it.

Absolutely loved this

Sobbed at both episodes - so sad about the baby dying mum and now dad left alone

What he said struck a cord. If he didn’t have his son then his wife would be alive

Bitter sweet

Was like a family I worked for (nanny) the mum had ivf and got preg with twins. The drugs and twin hormone made the cancer grow quickly

She knew she would die within a year or so of birth.

The mum died when twins were 2n so sad

Anyway - blows nose

Loving the blackmail - male cross dresser - arranged marriage etc story

The fact the dad thinks his job is more important then mums when childcare is needed

Horrible colleague.
