to find the Siobhan/Brian/Ruiri/Jennifer storyline distressing? Is it just cos i'm pg and hormonal - or is this every parent's nightmare. 'what if i die and have to leave my child(ren)'.
sob.
I reckon Jenny will come round. Or at least I hope she does...
Anyone else?!

I think Jenny will come around... she's always portrayed as a lovely woman. But I can understand why she feels so devastated by this. It's not about Ruiri, it's a physical manifestation of the betrayal.

Am I taking this WAY too seriuously!!

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 06/04/2007 14:44

i did wonder if i needed to get out more when i posted... so glad someone else takes an interest in The Archers! phew...
i find Jenny a pita, but all the Archers characters who are meant to be the good guys are annoying. Saint Bluddy Shula... give me Lillian any day!
One of life's pleasures, getting wound up by The Archers

There's quite a few Archer-ites on here

I LOVE Lillian... that dirty laugh... "pour me a large gin, darling"

AitchTwoOh · 06/04/2007 15:19

lillian's my favourite too - well, and sexy joe grundy of course.
i've missed it this week, though, the hot weather always kills our evening routine. (although i did overhear some boring cack about david putting his arm round rooth by accident and thought 'yawn').
sounds like it'll be a good omnibus.

sophiewd · 06/04/2007 15:43

Still catching up

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 06/04/2007 18:48

agree the ruth/david storyline is a bore. infact things had got a bit dull but nothing like jenny locking herself in the toolshed for a good cry to cheer things up!

Oh Brian what have you done

Hallgerda · 07/04/2007 21:29

I don't see why Jenny should be expected to come round. I don't think I would in a similar situation - would you? She's brought up four children of her own, and now, at the age of 60 or so, her husband's trying to manipulate her into taking on Ruaridh. It's not on. It may have the effect of healing the rift between Adam and Debbie, however.

OK, so I'm heartless. I can see it's not Ruaridh's fault, but that's not a reason for Jenny to accept him into the family.

Lio · 07/04/2007 21:38

I can't see how they can end this story line with any sort of neat-ness (bit like RL then). FWIW I don't think Jenny will come round - more likely to move to SA than have Ruairi (got the spelling off the Archers website - sad sad sad) to live with her in Ambridge. Actually no, because she wouldn't want to leave Alice would she? What a mess.

TinyGang · 07/04/2007 21:41

It'll be fine - Ruiri won't be any problem -he won't say anything for 10 years; Alice didn't

harpsichordcarrier · 07/04/2007 21:42

no, I agree, Jennifer can't be expected to come round to it. I think it will split them up actually.
this is what I like about the Archers. it's silly but it is messy and closer to RL than any other soap imo. the whol Brian/Siobhan storyline took months and months to come to a head. like RL. in Eastenders it would have all happened in a fortnight and by now Brian would have come out and Jennifer would have become an crack whore. or something

bunnypeculiar · 07/04/2007 21:43

lol Tinygang - the babies are VERY quiet on the Archers aren't they - I always forget about Ruth & David's youngest (what's his name again??)

mrsjohnsimnelcake · 07/04/2007 21:44

omg- had wondered if this would be the stroyline..now you've spoilt it for me! should have said it was a spoiler!!!

willywonkasEgghunt · 07/04/2007 21:51

You mean Jennifer doesn't become a crack whore ?

JanH · 07/04/2007 21:52

Ben talks.

Archers kids didn't until they were about 15 in the old days, but one of the producers has small boys who perform and since then they have been giving tongue at a younger and younger age (and all with the same frightfuy nice RP accent saying "OK mummy" of course...)

JanH · 07/04/2007 21:53

It's not a spoiler, mrsjohn, it's been on all week!

mrsjohnsimnelcake · 07/04/2007 22:13

oh i will listen to the sunday episode as i ahe missed the eve ones,
so yes, it isn't a spoiler... but grr there is no mystery for me now {grin]

JanH · 07/04/2007 22:16

Oh I seeee - you need to just ignore midweek Archers threads then

This one is a keeper though - will run and run...

No, ww, Debbie isn't Brine's either - I thought when Jenny said it that would come back to bite her in the bum - Brine took on both Adam and Debbie from Jenny's previous shenanigans, honestly JD is a fine one to talk

harpsichordcarrier · 07/04/2007 22:28

yes but there is a difference, surely.
Brian cheated on Jennifer

MrsDoolittle · 07/04/2007 22:31

Errr xcuse me?

Can I just correct the spelling of Ruairi please, pretty please?

This is my little boys name.

Oh and my name is Sio....ha ha

JanH · 07/04/2007 22:32

Didn't Jenny have a quick go with Debbie's dad in a hotel room when Alice was in a car seat though?

They are no better than each other, those Aldridges...
