Siobhan is a manipulative cow though, isn't she? She has taken Brian's money all this time but kept him at a very long arm's length and yet now it's "oh, when you see them together, his little face lights up!" (Maybe she meant Brian )

OMG, there was a thread about a situation a bit like this on MN not long ago - someone whose DH had 2 older children with his ex, and now had a new younger family, but somewhere out there is also a DS (with a 3rd woman) whose age slots between the 2 older ones

(IIRC the biggest difficulty there was what would the DH's mother say. But honestly, these men )

Dh has a theory, and it goes like this

Jenny is going to suggest Adam and Luke adopt Ruairi. Brian will hate this and go mad, "I don't want those homosexuals bringing up my son!"

Incidently, he thinks Jenny is a selfish old bird.

I have to say, I'm going off her listening to her now, I don't think my conscience would allow me to turn Ruairi away.

I think Jennifer should have Ruiri, too. He is only a baby, and Brian is his father. At least, Brian blimmin well ought to have him, even if it means he ditches Jennifer. Who is an obnoxious old bird, mainly concerned with appearances. I even think that Jennifer's refusal to countenance taking Ruiri is worse than Brian having a fling in the first place although obviously I can't condone any of Brian's behaviour towards women. Heh heh, if Brian ditches Jennifer, presumably he can have the pick of the women in tied cottages round Ambridge. Just looking for a suitable mother for Ruiri... Or maybe Caroline should have him?

I thought Jennifer handled the matter rather admirably yesterday. On the other hand, maybe ranting, raving and swearing might have persuaded Siobhan to look elsewhere.

(I have a similar though less weighty dilemma over a double glazing firm - I've been saying no politely for years - will they leave me alone if I summon up whatever it takes to swear at them next time?)

what about Roy & Hayley? they're in need of a family

Interesting thought, bundle, but I think Hayley wants one of her own. But perhaps the deal could be that Hayley and Roy take Ruairi in return for Brian and Jennifer paying for Hayley's IVF?

It would make Hayley and Roy's family rather complicated though - Ruairi would be Phoebe's half-uncle!
