What are people's opinions on the new Bake Off so far? And yes, I know we're only a few minutes in. IMO the new presenters feel a bit like they're trying a little too hard to be Mel and Sue.

Sad that Yan has gone, I'd much rather Stacey or Kate had gone. Has Sophie had star baker yet? Got to get it soon if she hasn't already. I think she's my favourite now, very talented and calm under pressure.

It was really split between 3 great and 3 terrible this week.
Was sad Yan went, I enjoyed her attitude, I think they are saving Stacey for when a favourite has a bad week.

Stacey should have gone. She has been terrible for weeks. I didn't like Yan, but thought she was better than Stacey or Kate.

I was sad Yan went too. She was fun. I keep forgetting Sophies name even when they have just said it! I wonder if they have kept Kate in for next week which looks like historcal bakes?

Because she said in the early rounds she loves using historical recipes. Probably not the reason though. Will still be interesting to see what she does.

Stacey's been the worst for a few weeks but is still there.

(Watched another show called Great British Hairdressers which was obviously fixed. Reckon they're made by the same people).

Yes - I was sorry to lose Yan - she was a lot of fun.

Stacey is RUBBISH - and Kate is poor, but at least she is pleasant and personable. Stacey's just a tardy mare. I really think she should have gone.

Definitely a Stephen Liam Sophie final. I think Liam has a future in tv cookery presenting. He's fab.

DS1 said last night that he much prefers the new presenters!

Yan was my favourite too. Sad I'm sharing the Liam love too.

I think Prue is fitting in well, in place of Mary Berry, and Sandie and Noel are settling into the role too. Noel is growing on me - he seems to be very good at talking to the bakers, and making them laugh - relieving the tension when things aren't going entirely according to plan.

Lots of love for Noel in this house too. I thought the production had gone mad when they announced him as a presenter, but he's really surprised me. He's really sweet!

Liam's fab, he's talented and knowledgeable without being smug about it.

I've not taken to Stacey I'm afraid, I've definitely noticed she doesn't muck in like the others.

Yan was my favourite personality I'll miss her

I really liked Yan, thought she was super funny and smart.

Kate and her hair all over the food is massively annoying.

I also think the final will be Sophie, Stephen and Liam and they all deserve to be there.

Loving Noel and Prue, Sandi not so much and did Paul fall in a bucket of gravy browning? He looks ridiculous

Yes agree with you all that Stacey should have gone, Yan seemed a nicer person too (although her baking was very slapdash).

I wish though that they would give the contestants a reasonable amount of time - yes,I appreciate that it's a competition etc, but seeing them fanning stuff to cool it etc because they are timed to the second, just seems to add unnecessary stress to me.

I was watching repeated of the very first series (I didn't see it first time round), and the tasks were much simpler.
