What are people's opinions on the new Bake Off so far? And yes, I know we're only a few minutes in. IMO the new presenters feel a bit like they're trying a little too hard to be Mel and Sue.

Opinions?

OP posts:

but mine has to be stone cold to add the jelly ....mmm

Igneococcus · 03/10/2017 20:49

HoW does the pastry stay up without a tin?

Biggreygoose · 03/10/2017 20:50

I reckon Kate is going.

HyacinthBooquet · 03/10/2017 20:51

I watch it on catch up (I don't have a TV so can't record) and on one episode got personalised adverts! It completely freaked me out when suddenly the computer started saying my name and trying to sell me stuff

I just posted in my family FB group about having a granny nap and some bugger wakening me up by shouting at me and asking me if I wanted a yoghurt. I didnt know where they hell I was or what had happened!

Biggreygoose · 03/10/2017 20:51

@ign ridiculous amounts of fat

bookbook · 03/10/2017 20:51

well, I cheat , and it goes inside the tin :) I cook it in the tin too!

Igneococcus · 03/10/2017 20:53

Oh OK.
I have never eaten a pie like that, I should try one.

CarrieBradshawsScrunchie · 03/10/2017 20:54

I want Noel to come and stand in my kitchen and encourage me in the evenings when I cook my crap dinners.

bookbook · 03/10/2017 20:55

Its a Christmas treat here , but I don't roll out the pastry , I actually raise it up the sides with my fingers while it is still hot. Mine is a traditional pork pie , with a lid and jelly. Nothing at all like the ones you buy .

Igneococcus · 03/10/2017 20:58

I've only ever seen tiny pork pies at the local Tesco. Maybe it's not a Scottish thing.
Might have to look at recipes.

MrsFassy · 03/10/2017 21:01

Stacey or Kate are going tonight I'd say

bookbook · 03/10/2017 21:01

Mine feeds about 8-12 depending how greedy people are . Usually done for boxing day buffet

lasketchup · 03/10/2017 21:02

How has Stacey stayed in this long? 😂 she’s had a nightmare every week! She makes me laugh

bookbook · 03/10/2017 21:03

oh Stacey ...!

WipsGlitter · 03/10/2017 21:03

Kate is going.

Igneococcus · 03/10/2017 21:03

I'd love a pie, I'm sure of that.

bookbook · 03/10/2017 21:04

may be Julia that goes I think

Biggreygoose · 03/10/2017 21:09

Stacey Julia and Kate at risk I reckon. I think Kate may have done just enough to stay ....

Liam for 🌟 baker.

JemimaLovesHamble · 03/10/2017 21:10

Why didn't Julia just spoon the filling out and remove the parchment? Better to have messy layers than feed paper to the judges!

bookbook · 03/10/2017 21:10

think it may be Sophie star baker

bookbook · 03/10/2017 21:12

awwwwww

whatashower · 03/10/2017 21:13

Awwww indeed! Sandi!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/10/2017 21:14

Blimey sfogliatelle next week, that should be fun.

Julia is only 21? Shock

Igneococcus · 03/10/2017 21:15

Oooh, they make sfogliatelle next week, I ate my own body weight of these in Naples a few years ago.
