Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 7 discussion thread *SPOILERS*

THIS THREAD IS FOR DISCUSSION OF SEASON 7, EPISODE 7 "THE DRAGON AND THE WOLF"

Come and discuss the very last episode in the penultimate series, airing August 27th at 2am UK time! Don't read the thread if you want to avoid finding out what happens in Season 7 but also Seasons 1-6.

Please avoid discussing leaks and production details for Seasons 7 and 8 but speculate away on what we have learnt from the new episodes and what it might mean for the rest of the Season and the ultimate winner(s) of the Game of Thrones.

Bossy I spent a full 45 minutes giving my family and friends a brief run down of the late history of the Seven Kingdoms whilst at the beach yesterday. Started with the mad king, his demise, Roberts Rebellion, Jon Snows birth etc. We touched on parentage and who is related to whom, and discussed in depth what could possibly happen going forward. We also briefly talked about the creation of the WW and how Bran could possibly be NK.

I said to DH yesterday that I thought Viserundead would breathe blue icy flames, and he proceeded to tell me that it would defy the laws of physics to have ice flame, and it wouldn't happen. He was adamant he'd breathe icy air. I did point out that an undead dragon defies the laws of biology and chemistry as it is, but he wouldn't back down. How I laughed when I was right. I'm always bloody right!

Is it not possible that all the Targaryens looked very alike because they all come from a very limited gene pool?

As for Jon & Dany producing a deformed baby due to incest, actually Jon being half-Stark dilutes his Targaryen inbreeding and brings new material to the gene-pool. So a Jon-Dany baby stands a chance of being ok-ish!

Fair point. Dany doesn't look that much like either of them in anything other than hair colour.

So now I've seen it, I decided to search for the original Reddit script leaks to see how accurate they were. The terrifying thing is, they were bang on. There is one scene that was supposed to happen this episode and it didn't, which now leaves me wondering if it was a mistake or if it will be shown next season. Obvs I won't say it here, but if anyone is interested, the link is here ⬇️

DH had two uncles with the same name. The first died young, then the second had severe mh problems and always told everyone that the baby kept saying he had stolen his name. He committed suicide.

I had no intention of discussing it, which is why I said if anyone is interested. I didn't think there would be a problem seeing as everyone posting on here has seen it, and they're the scripts for the episodes that have been shown. As far as I'm aware, they haven't started filming 8 yet so there won't be any production/script leaks anywhere online yet.

In the real world - and possibly also in GOT world - you're very likely to get away with a one-off incidence of incest. It's when people do it for generation after generation after generation that it gets increasingly dangerous and leads to pedigree collapse. Aunt and nephew having a baby, though icky, wouldn't necessarily be too dangerous. But when both parties are the offshoot of centuries of inbreeding then it gets more dangerous. At least Jon has some non-Targaryen blood, but Danny's parents (aka Jon's paternal grandparents) were brother and sister - although it's not quite clear how far the line of sibling marriage goes in the show.

I also wonder if Cersei's baby will be a dwarf. Euron gave a speech about how iron borns drown them at birth. He may marry Cersei and drown the baby, leading to Jaime killing his twin.

Re-watched and love Cersei Jaime scenes. I cannot wait to see what happens now.
I want to see little Theon rescue Yara and front up Euron. But what if the waters freeze and Euron and co can't sail back from Essos?

I also agree that we need to question Tyrion's loyalties now.

The leaked script pages for this episode were spot on. I captured an image of one of them. I can post it now as we've seen it in the episode.

GoT security was crap last season. I hope they do better for season 8.

mangomay anyone on this thread should have seen that scene by now! I can't believe it surfaced in January and was labelled a fake as it was considered naff and too full of cliche. Well, it was spot-on.

If it contains a scene that we have not seen, then it's a spoiler and should be treated as such.

Fwiw I've seen three versions of "s8 leaks" - obviously both can't be right - but the scene missing from the leak of s7 wasn't in either of them
