I thought we could do with a thread for those of us who have read all the spoilers for the full season.

Nothing is not allowed.

The Lyanna Targaryen storyline would be the song of ice and fire, who would then face Bran.

Knope2020 · 19/08/2017 19:57

Well
Tbh that ending is the one I've been expecting :(

FanwankTheAbsurd · 19/08/2017 20:05

Nooooooooooooooooooo

I REALLY hope it's a better ending than that 😭😭😭

I don't think Tyrion/Missandei will ever be a 'thing' in the books and I'm very sceptical about Sansa/Gendry, but the rest seems very plausible.

I think Arya/Hound road trip v2.0 and Cleganebowl is fan service but D&D have already admitted they don't know what GRRM has planned for the Hound so I'm not surprised they appeared in the plot.

Euron as the final human villain has always been on the cards. I always assumed he'd end up with a dragon though.

MrsJoyOdell · 19/08/2017 20:13

Tyrion/Missandei makes me vomit. Why? Just why? Why do they have to have a sexual relationship?

MrsJoyOdell · 19/08/2017 20:14

Not because there's anything wrong with either of them, it just feels completely unnecessary.

MrsJoyOdell · 19/08/2017 20:14

Elena I can cope with them both dying, it's the manner of their deaths that I think is crap.

Knope2020 · 19/08/2017 20:15

Sansa and gendry I can see actually
Tyrion and missendei? Possible. She likes him I think.
I told ds1 last week that the soiaf would be J and D baby
Also that Sam would survive

MrsJoyOdell · 19/08/2017 20:17

Yes I agree - I can see Sansa and Gendry.

Knope2020 · 19/08/2017 20:18

That will piss arya off :)

AryaUnderfoot · 19/08/2017 20:21

Jaime makes a throwaway remark in the books that if Sansa is sensible she will marry a blacksmith and have lots of babies.

The book spanner in the works is that Robert already has a live recognised bastard - Edric Storm - and he would be the most likely heir to Storm's End.

However, there seems to be no such thing as 'most likely' in this series any more.

Knope2020 · 19/08/2017 20:24

Lots of throwaway remarks...
Tyrion: "lady sansa you may outlive us all yet" (battle of the blackwater)

MyOtherProfile · 19/08/2017 22:10

Can someone explain something to me about the books? So D and D are doing series 8 off their own back and don't know which direction GRRM will go right? So then the books will be written and could tell a totally different story? Is that right? I've only read the first 2 books.

ElenaGreco123 · 19/08/2017 23:22

Well, D&D is meant to know the ending, but the books are so much more complex that they are impossible to follow in so few episodes and characters.

Joy You are very right. I want them to go like a boss. This is the kind of obit you want for them:
Rhaenys Targaryen
Beloved daughter of Lady Jocelyn Baratheon and Prince Aemon Targaryen, faithful wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon, mother and grandmother, the Queen Who Never Was lived fearlessly, and died amidst blood and fire. She was fifty-five years old.
awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Rhaenys_Targaryen_(daughter_of_Aemon)

Although a very high percentage of prominent Westerosi mothers died in childbirth.

AryaUnderfoot · 20/08/2017 07:54

D&D know how the story will end and know the fates of the main characters. I'm sure GRRM has intended outcomes for many of the secondary and tertiary characters, but he may not yet know how he wants them to get there. My sneaking suspicion is there are characters he just hasn't decided about yet.

For D&D it must be like Mendeleev putting together the periodic table with only half the known elements. They do not have his level of genius!

BelaLugosisShed · 20/08/2017 12:56

The worst part has to be Varys killing Danearys with Heartsbane ,just NO!

MrsJoyOdell · 20/08/2017 13:40

Yes!!! I really want it to all be shite. Especially stuff like this, what a total waste Angry

AryaUnderfoot · 20/08/2017 17:58

So, this video is really irritating, but they seem to have a different set of 'leaks' based on the HBO hack earlier this month. Summarising:

  • Dany 'sacrifices herself' early on in the season
  • Jon lives but goes blind and turns down the throne (no baby dragon)
  • Tyrion and Sansa remarry and start a democracy (yuck, yuck and more yuck)
  • Gendry dies

This gives me hope that both sets of leaks are fan fiction. Actually, I've read better fan fiction...

BelaLugosisShed · 20/08/2017 18:29

Absolutely no stuff about s8 was in the recent hack.
Going by all the decent forums, the leaks are fake, the cast don't even have scripts yet.
I am staying away from any more talk of season 8.

MrsJoyOdell · 20/08/2017 18:40

I'm clinging to the hope that if it's real, D&D VERY quickly rewrite when they (obviously) see this thread Grin

BeyondQueenOfLists · 20/08/2017 19:28

Cerseis death can't be right in the leak as it's nothing like the MTF prophecy at all. Even if she was just strangled by the hound it would fit, but not a slit throat.

MyOtherProfile · 20/08/2017 19:52

"I'm clinging to the hope that if it's real, D&D VERY quickly rewrite when they (obviously) see this thread"
I'm sure that is what will happen Grin

Can anyone remind me what the series 8 leaks said about LFs death. I'm sure it predicted one but I can't remember.

BeyondQueenOfLists · 20/08/2017 20:02

LFs death certainly wasn't mentioned in any season eight leaks...!

AryaUnderfoot · 20/08/2017 20:03

LF dies at the end of season 7 (guess the weapon).

FanwankTheAbsurd · 20/08/2017 21:12

Honestly, I think I'd actually wet myself if D&D came anywhere near this thread 😂

However, if they are watching (Hi Guys) then PLEASE don't settle for the shite, normal, everyday options. GoT has always prided itself on realism and avoiding the cliche.
