Raah the threads Im on disappeared on me too. i contacted HQ wgo said it was something they were sorting out.

Henri was BRILLIANT lasat night on Masterchef, knew he would be. so funny.

whats with the Zverev brothers? they both keep going on to umpires that the umpires have it in for them and are against them.

one at Wimbledon and the other in the match last night.

Raahh · 17/08/2017 14:27

Qui the threads i'm on thing made me think my laptop was on the blink, at the time. It was really annoying.
I have recorded Masterchef, so will try to watch later. I am feeling very unmotivated todayGrin.

Well, the rain was a bit of a disappointment, and probably means back-to back matches for Rafa and others now (assuming he gets through his match).

Glad to see Ferrer got through. I can't remember the last time I actually 'saw' a whole Ferrer match, and I love watching him play.

Well, we had a massive storm here earlier, which didn't go down well with dog Grin.

Still waiting for the Rafa match to start. Muguruza has finally won her match, by the look of things. It's going to be really late before he gets to play his second match- (which might be against Karlovic, if he manages to win this set). Of course, Rafa has to win first. Grin

Phew!

Except it seems it is Kyrgios, who Rafa will face next.
I'm hoping for a 'hip flare up' Grin.

VamosRafa- kick Aussie butt (after a suitable period of restGrin )

Ferrer is delighted with his win. He's looking much better than he did earlier in the year but to me it looks like he's lost some weight. The heat seemed to be getting to Theim.

Raahh · 19/08/2017 09:47

I had a feeling Kyrgios would benefit from the two matches in one night- shame Rafa couldn't beat him. So long as he doesn't get any further.
Makes me very suspicious of all the recent injuries Nick had recently though that meant he retired from matches. funny how they don't happen when he's winning?
Hmm.

Would love Ferrer to win the tournament now. They would be lovely. Grigor still doing well though. And then there's Isner, who is one of those players who has just always been around. Grin

I've just read Nishikori is out for the rest of the year with a wrist injury.

They are dropping like flies, at the moment.

Isner gave Grigor a good match , by the look of things.

I'm glad Muguruza won earlier too- must be difficult for the Spanish players at the moment, with the awful events in Barcelona. It's a city I have never been to, but would love to. My sister did, on a cruise earlier in the year. She got DD1 a Barcelona FC Messi football shirt,(for her birthday, she wore it on our day out) the day the new strip came out. I think she might have had a shock at the till Grin.

I'm surprised it's Grigor's first masters 1000 final. I even thought he'd won one. He's been one of he 'up and coming' for so long, old Baby Fed, I assumed he had been in one before. He must be pretty miffed by he rise of Sascha ZverevGrin.

But if Ferrer gets to the final- and I really hope he beat Kyrgios- I want him to win the tournament.

(I will stop talking to myself eventually).

I watched the second set. It was very good. Isner played some great shots yet I never felt he was going to win. Dimitrov just looked much fresher.

Raahh · 20/08/2017 11:20

Sadly, Kyrgios is through- so I hope Grigor is in good form tonight. I've been reading a number of forums and the usual stuff is now being spouted, about how this means he will win the US Open. Well, that's possibly a bit premature- it's taken him this long to fulfil his early potential as it is Grin, but I would be happy to see him finally win a big title. He did play exceptionally well in the Australian open against Rafa- but he is just so inconsistent. This must be his best year for a while.

And then it will be nearly time for Flushing Meadows. I keep saying it, but this year is flying by. I'm sure I probably said the same at the same time last year.

Grin

And I saw a picture of Djok and his son Stefan the other day, making cars out of cardboard boxes. One had a 'baby' doll in it, and in some of the comments , people thought it was the new babyGrin. Would be a very advanced, premature newborn- sitting up in a boxGrin

Herbert/Mahut won the doubles. Herbert is such a cutie Grin

Raahh · 20/08/2017 19:34

I'm glad Mahut/Herbert won, I really like them.

Come on Grigor for later!

Garbine seems to be racing ahead against Halep. I like both of them, but will be very happy for Murguruza to win.

JaneJeffer · 20/08/2017 23:31

Well done Grigor!

Raahh · 21/08/2017 14:34

Really pleased for Grigor. Hopefully he will be a contender next week.

Will need a sparkly new thread for Flushing meadows, I think.

Sad

Raonic has withdrawn from the US Open with a wrist injury. I am really sad about that. I like MIlos, (I know he is is a bit marmite, but I think he's lovely)he had a brilliant year last year and injuries have plagued him this year.

QuiQuaiQuod · 25/08/2017 13:49

Is Andy playing? havent heard otherwise.

going to be a but thin on the ground this year, although the silver lining is seeing some up and comers, and maybe a surprise final, as when Cilic and Kai played.

I like the occasional Krajcek/Washington matches! Smile Tennis.

Raahh · 25/08/2017 20:40

As far as I can tell, Murray is playing, he is seeded 2 , I think. But not a lot has been said about his 'hip' since Wimbledon, so how fit he is, no one knows.

I'm looking forward to the US Open though- if only to get to 'see' some tennis and Rafa.

I am hoping the younger players do well- Sascha Zverev went into RG on a high, and lost early, so I hope that doesn't happen again. Will be interesting to see how Shapovalov gets on, and wee Diego Schwartzman (I'm getting quite fond of himGrin )

And Del po- I am always hopeful for a good run for him ( and he did well last year).
