Pleased for you, Raah. Enjoy!

bookbook · 15/07/2017 14:14

rushes in sits down - screeched in, just in time for first game.
Not fussed who wins, just hope its good tennis

Raahh · 15/07/2017 14:17

Creme I did the shopping early- and dh has taken dd1 to her football tournament. I warned him, I was not available all weekend Grin

Phew, just got back from taking DD somewhere. She did, at least, ask if I minded as she knew tennis was imminent. It was set to record anyway.

I think I'm actually looking forward to doubles matches more.

Yy to Blue Monday. Always do a little calculation of how long to the US Open!

AmIthatbloodycold · 15/07/2017 14:28

I'm going to enjoy with no butterflies or nerves, as I don't really mind who wins

But cmon Venus. I think

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2017 14:30

Sounds so loud with the roof closed!

MajesticWhine · 15/07/2017 14:31

I'm neutral too. Can't quite decide who I want to win - love Venus but don't want Garbine to be thrashed. Would love to see a close match.

Raahh · 15/07/2017 14:35

Bagel well, Montreal (Rogers Cup) starts on the 8th of August, or thereabouts. I'm not sure if I will be able to 'watch' watch, though. I'm a bit uncertain about the US Open too, with Eurosport and Sky and everything (I don't have Sky, but Eurosport did cover the US, and Australia, in a deal with Sky sports).

Of course last year, we had the Olympics to bridge the gap.

I don't think Garbine is going to give this one up too easily, really.

Vamos break point!

Well Majestic seems pretty tight so far. Here's hoping for a thrilling 3 setter

Raahh · 15/07/2017 14:45
Grin

I have just read that the new Doctor Who is being announced after the men's final tomorrow.

I wonder if Roger is retiring, and taking up acting? He's been great at holding back the years and time travelling so far Grin

Raahh - maybe all players should be played by the hour then - so if Federer wins in straight sets, he gets paid less than those players who take five sets, surely?

After all, it is not the women players who have chosen to only be permitted to play three sets, it's the International Tennis Foundation. The chairwoman of the WTA has often said that women are absolutely prepared to play five sets.

Raahh · 15/07/2017 14:47

Vamos Muggy!

Well he is showingoing he's a bit of a time traveller, as in rolling back the years, RaahGrin

Good match so far, but great opportunity now for Venus. Can she take it??

trixymalixy · 15/07/2017 14:50

Vamos Muguruza!!

bookbook · 15/07/2017 14:51

gosh, that was a good game

CremeEggThief · 15/07/2017 14:52

Fair play to Garbine. That took guts.

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2017 14:53

Venus seems to be getting a bit rattled.

Raahh · 15/07/2017 14:57

Yay!!

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2017 15:01

Wow!!

bookbook · 15/07/2017 15:02

some big hitting here - well done Muguruza - and wow that lob!

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2017 15:02

Great tennis.

Raahh · 15/07/2017 15:02

This is great- I'm really glad she's taken this on, and hasn't let the occasion get to her. She has, too many times this year.

Vamos hurrah!

MajesticWhine · 15/07/2017 15:03

Good set there. Tough scrapping by Muguruza.
