Anyone going to watch it tonight?

As they search for Zoe's male twin?

Ive been enjoying it and although there are some bits which I find unbelievable .....like the mix of accents in the same family and Kat and Alfie, I've managed to get past that and I'm enjoying it.

I was a bit worried about Kat and Alfie being very far removed from the rest of the setting but think they've not had as much of a role as I first thought they would.

Easy watching though but I was hoping it would be wrapped up in one series. I like the music.

Akire · 22/06/2017 21:30

Are we aww stunned at the crap non ending? Thought it was a one off??

TheHiphopopotamus · 22/06/2017 21:41

Annoyed at the ending. It should be against the law to end a tv series on a cliffhanger unless they are DEFINITELY making another series.

I don't think there will a second series and an Eastenders character will have a five second conversation about what's happened to K & A and that will be that.

Optimist1 · 22/06/2017 21:42

Whaat?! By no stretch of the imagination was that an ending. Even programmes where a new series is to be expected tie up some of the loose ends! Hmm

Defuzzing · 22/06/2017 22:07

Venella:
defuzzing what is a Britney Spears moment? Does Kat shave her extensions off? grin no! don't tell me please!
No head shaving or drugs testing involved Grin A Britany Spears Moment is an "oops we did it again" moment. The last one by RTÉ was a TV series called "Amber" about a missing girl. Which just ended without any conclusion same as Redwater.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 22/06/2017 22:08

My bf was saying 'they can't kill them! They only borrowed them off EE' Grin

Akire · 22/06/2017 23:16

Didn't get how Alfie
Thought he could Pop along for brain surgery and be home For tea?

So Alfie and Kat end up dead, 3 kids orphaned and long lost son is least murderer of 3 people? Great.

Defuzzing · 22/06/2017 23:23

I was very disappointed by the final episode. There will have to be a conclusion at some point.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 22/06/2017 23:23

5 kids orphaned!

They aren't going to be dead though are they? I suspect the writers thought it would be a big hit and assumed second series would be commissioned.

furryleopard · 22/06/2017 23:30

Hang on if the son is 29 and mum 52 - I can cope with that but the son has a daughter who is approximately 15 which would make him 14 when she was born which feels unlikely. I can't get the family tree in my brain at all!

JaneJeffer · 22/06/2017 23:56

they can't kill them! They only borrowed them off EE that's brilliant Grin

Well I can't believe I watched all six episodes and I'm none the wiser than I was!

EnidButton · 23/06/2017 00:31

Is there no second series? That was a textbook cliffhanger. I was bored for most of the series until the last 15 minutes. They can't leave it like that!

Choccywoccyhooha · 23/06/2017 00:48

That was bloody awful. I dipped in and out, but watched tonight's episode properly. What an utter waste of time.

And yeah Adeen seems far too old to have the parents she has. That bugged me throughout.

I hope they're dead, put a nail in that coffin. Repatriate the bodies to Walford, let Billy have yet more business.

honeyrider · 23/06/2017 01:11

Andrew is supposed to be around 34/35

myusernameisnotmyusername · 23/06/2017 06:59

This happens to everything I watch it seems! Home fires ended on a massive cliffhanger then got cancelled. Same with mysteries of Laura!

TheHiphopopotamus · 23/06/2017 07:39

I think the cliffhanger was a way to keep Kat & Alfie in Redwater for a second series. They'd have had to hang around to recover, otherwise why wouldn't they just bugger off back to Spain.

A couple of questions. Who was looking after Kat's little boy at the end and what was the letter Agnes (?) had received that had them looking worried? Did she say 'he's found us'?

bluedrinkstwo · 23/06/2017 07:47

Ohhhhh my god!!!!!

bluedrinkstwo · 23/06/2017 07:55

But I love that after being hit by the propeller her arms seem intact on the rocks Grin

hollyisalovelyname · 23/06/2017 09:10

I wasted 6 hours of my life on Redwater hoping there would be some conclusion.
Shame on you RTE.

Defuzzing · 23/06/2017 10:07

The letter was from a Solicitor firm in England. One of the Solicitorpartners was Byrne. He was saying he was Lance's Son and he wanted to see the will and that it was executed correctly.

SoupDragon · 23/06/2017 10:12

Do brain tumours usually allow one to see the future?

Optimist1 · 23/06/2017 11:58

Well spotted, Defuzzing - another Byrne family member for us to get confused about in a future series!

TheHiphopopotamus · 23/06/2017 12:30

Interesting... so another sibling that had been previously unmentioned?

Looks like we may never find out. I wish they'd put this on Sunday evenings instead, I reckon the viewing figures would've been much better. It was no better/worse than Broadchurch (imo). Seaside setting, hammy acting and accents galore.

IrianOfW · 23/06/2017 13:17

Ggggnnnnnngggg!!!!! Head exploded trying to watch this last night. I go to running club most Thursday so only watched the first episode and the last one. WTF was going on? Actually no, don't answer that. Please Confused

Defuzzing · 23/06/2017 14:34

I kept pausing sky+ and squinting to make out the letter. Grin
