I'm confused by the confusion on this thread! Maybe it's because I watch with subtitles so I read people's names at the same time as hearing them/seeing the faces, but I didn't realise until reading here that people couldn't follow who is who.

I really like it! Good acting (mostly), beautiful landscape and intriguing story – all sorts of shit covered up in this family.

But agreed, I get that Kat didn't tell Dermot the truth about his father, but why on earth didn't she tell him about Zoe at first?

No Peter married to Agnes's niece. So he's brother in law to the two women.

Peter was married to Agnes' niece. Agnes is the black hair and blonde hair women's mother so Peter was married to their first cousin.

Mouse was the blonde woman's daughter and a sister to the blonde guy. The blonde woman is divorced from the dad. I think they went to America after the break up and after the boat accident.

I'm finding it weirdly compelling as well I also haven't watched EE in years though, so I'm not sure it needed Kat and Alfie in it.

I've missed this obviously, but why was Dermot adopted but Zoe raised by the family as Kat's sister? But the most pressing question is why the Andrew character has such a bad hair dye job? He looks like he's taken a photo of Paul McCartney to the hairdressers

That's a good point. I don't know either but the twins were born at a convent so it must have been the doing of the evil nuns or something.
Kat was unconscious thus unaware of having given birth to twins.

I noticed Andrew's hair too, immediately made me think of Dylan Moran and 'Irish hair' !
