Anyone going to watch it tonight?

As they search for Zoe's male twin?

I have to confess I haven't been paying a lot of attention to it! For a while I couldn't decide whether the American man was the blonde woman's partner or son!

southeastdweller · 30/05/2017 09:23

I've surprised myself by enjoying it as much as I am. I like the atmosphere, the acting is decent and the story is very intriguing. It's also nice to see some of the ladies from 'The Commitments' in this and have scenes together.

Good to see I'm not the only one confused about the family tree but I just googled and the actress who plays Roisin is 52 and has a 30 year old son, which pretty much are the same ages of Roisin and Andrew.

AGnu · 30/05/2017 10:33

She's 52?!

For him to have been 69 there must've been less than 20 years between generations. That would be unusual in modern society but perhaps less so in a village where it was normal to get married young.

Any chance the dead guy forgotten his name already was also Iris' dad? There have been several references made to him being unfaithful to his wife.

I've also wondered if farmer bloke is really Kat's son & dead guy just said it was the priest to protect his family. Seems unnecessarily cruel though & unlikely given American woman's story about holding him when he was born.

I take it farmer, priest & American man were the three boys who survived the boat accident. Anyone got any theories about what she was thinking? Am assuming that meant Iris taking the children out on the boat? Is it possible she confessed she wasn't priest's mother & that's why he let her drown? He's known all this time which is why he didn't seem to react much when dead guy told him. Can't quite get my head around why he'd kill him though, but I'm not a murderous psychopath...!

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/05/2017 22:54

Glad I'm not the only one @southeast

I did wonder if the priest wasn't Kats son. Think she will find it hard that he's a killer .....

But he also didn't seem that shocked when was told his dead y wasn't his mum and Kat was

Fab family tree tho didn't realise that iris (drowned ) was Agnes niece of her mum was Agnes sister

The picture of the family tree is so awfully wrong it hurts my eyes

ShelaghTurner · 31/05/2017 07:28

I was intending to watch but then I remembered all the Zoe stuff and You ain't my muvver and how brilliant those episodes were and now Kat, who I loved, seems to be a comic character. Makes me a bit cross.

hollyisalovelyname · 31/05/2017 17:32

I thought the farmer and the priest were brothers Smile

Spottyladybird · 02/06/2017 11:18

What did you think of last nights?

Didnt see the sexual tension between the cousins (American and farmer) coming so that was interesting (and a bit wrong!)

Also, is their a love triangle between Peter, farmers wife and American Mum?

ZeroFuchsGiven · 02/06/2017 11:45

None of it seems to make any sense, I thought there would be some good scenes last night of Kat explaining why/how he was given up but there was none of that. Does he even know he has a Twin Sister?

LottieandMia · 02/06/2017 14:22

Yep, I am now lost with this. Glad I wasn't the only one thinking 'why don't you tell him about Zoe?'

SoupDragon · 02/06/2017 15:47

And Kat in a wetsuit? Really??

babykite · 02/06/2017 16:26

She hasn't mentioned zoe or the twins to him. I'm still confused as to why he let his mum drown

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/06/2017 18:10

kat is looking old and blotchy, poss fillers /botox :(

i understand she didnt want to say that harry was her uncle or that he raped her,but saying she loved his dad was a bit ott

if he ever finds out about zoe, then he will find out the truth

they should have been more careful over tommy and what he knows, and blabs ......

i am wondering if he will die

JaneJeffer · 06/06/2017 09:38

Does that Peter guy remind anyone else of Uncle Harry? Especially when he was wearing the Hawaiian shirt.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/06/2017 14:18

Well this thread is rocking! I'm suprised the vicar has a chance to
Do any work what with the baby delivering, delteying documents off police computers, stealing dogs, being an arsonists, getting drunk and saving people from drowning!

Still least we had limited Kat n Alfie apart from ordering food in the pub.

Where are we supposed to be on time line? First week? First month? No ones made any plans about staying longer and they only had cottage for two weeks
To start with.

SoupDragon · 09/06/2017 08:58

It's just completely bonkers. It's is still like two separate programmes - the one with the Irish characters and some scenes with Kalfie cut in from Eastenders On Holiday.

babykite · 09/06/2017 20:15

I get more and more confused. This family is just twisted 😂

Optimist1 · 09/06/2017 21:34

Agreed, babykite - not sure if you watched Paula on BBC2 the past three weeks, but Redwater is becoming Paula Lite - plotting and murder and shagging without any fathomable logic! (I still need to know the significance of the priest and the orange juice.)
