SPOILER WARNING

Anyone else who is eagerly awaiting the start of the next season and want to chat about predictions and theories for what is going to happen as the Game of Thrones draws to a conclusion over the next two series?

Spoilers inevitable, as it's almost impossible to look forward without looking back at what has happened in the show already. But please mark spoilers about leaks relating to Seasons 7 and 8 in case some pp don't want to see photos and things ahead of the show.

So, who is going to win the Game and who is going to die? Share your thoughts, theories and crazy tinfoil hat suggestions here!

Catelyn had never liked this godswood.

This first line from Catelyn's first chapter in the first book is quite sinister in hindsight.

ClashCityRocker · 02/07/2017 10:12

Actually yes, have decided to postpone my reread until we have a release date for Wow...

Im excited to see Arya back in westeros. Will she head for the wall or just wonder around killing people?

The dynamic between sansa and Jon is interesting as well. I don't think she has a lot of faith in him.

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 02/07/2017 10:22

I thought exactly the same Paffle, especially arya. Jon seemed to be dead for ages too, it's less than 2 hours!! Grin

There did seem to be a lot of noticeable 'filler' around season 6 episode 2-5 ish. Nothing really happened, and I didn't notice the same in any of the other seasons

ZedWoman · 02/07/2017 10:36

I thought Arya's recovery from her stab wound(s) was amazingly unrealistic. She must have been wearing very thick plot armour.

Paffle · 02/07/2017 11:05

Zedwoman, I've always thought that about Arya's wound recovery. Although even that made marginally more sense watching it relatively soon after seeing her fighting blind after being routinely beaten up by the other girl earlier in the season.

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 02/07/2017 11:27

Amazingly lucky how none of those stab wounds perforated her bowel Grin

BaliBound · 02/07/2017 11:29

Joining in because I'm too excited for GOT! Just reading through the thread to catch up Grin

honeyroar · 04/07/2017 00:17

Ive been in the states for a couple of days and HBO have had a marathon non-stop Game ofThrones session. I've barely got anything done while I've been here! I started at The Red wedding and am nearly at Battle of the Bastards! Missed a few but watched most! Square eyed but feeling a bit more back in the loop and desperate for GOT now!

ZedWoman · 07/07/2017 21:17

ew.com/tv/2017/07/06/game-of-thrones-kit-harington-sansa/

So, they're 'hyping up' the tension between Jon and Sansa....sigh

All the 'Sansa-haterz' on freefolk are just loving it.....

Mner · 08/07/2017 00:41

We only started watching the series in january. Binged our way through whilst I read the old threads alongside watching it. This is our first live series! I don't know how I'm going to manage to waiting a whole week between episodes!

DispatchReady · 08/07/2017 14:38

I've just finished rewatching the whole thing from season 1-6! I still got stressed about people dying or not etc even knowing exactly what was going to happen! Lots of wondering about what's still to happen - hoping the remaining Starks will all be reunited, think Dany will take the throne in the end but really don't know what's going to happen in the meantime so very excited. Think early season 6 was just laying the groundwork for what was about to come so that's why they were slower, but episodes 9 and 10 were some of the best TV I've ever seen. Can't wait!

Paffle · 12/07/2017 08:41

Just popping in to say I'm getting very excited now!

ZedWoman · 12/07/2017 10:43

I'm very excited but I have a horrible feeling I'm going to spend a lot of time shouting at the television.

I am really hoping the writers don't end up sacrificing plausibility and good characterisation for the sake of creating a few throwaway moments of dramatic tension and shock value. Season 5 and 6 were full of plotholes.

SafetyBird · 12/07/2017 11:17

I'm soooo excited too, although I am really struggling to remember all the details of how the last series ended because it's been so long ago. I should make some time this weekend to watch maybe the last two or three episodes to refresh my memory.

I really don't think Dany will end up on the throne. I don't think it will be anyone who actually "wants" it. I think it will be an unlikely hero type situation, like maybe Tyrion or Bran.

ZedWoman · 12/07/2017 12:13

I really can't see Westeros remaining as a single kingdom at the end of the series. I can see it going back to being 7 separate kingdoms. Even if there is still a 'united Westeros' I don't think there is any chance at all that Dany will be ruling it.

notaslimceagirl · 13/07/2017 10:37

Can I join in?!

The telegraph has photos from the premiere and Gendry is there. I'd love to see Arya meet up with him this season.

notaslimceagirl · 13/07/2017 10:41

'When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east," said Mirri Maz Duur. ''

Could this be a comet?

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 13/07/2017 10:48

Oo, good idea! That's certainly possible, isn't it

Wobblebeans · 13/07/2017 12:12

I can't wait, I've already re-watched all of the previous seasons ready, and have been watching all of the behind the scenes extras on now tv.
I'm hoping for a Stark family reunion

ZedWoman · 13/07/2017 12:54

Come to think of it, I think Dany will have Jon's babies - twins to be precise.

Tyrion will hand her the first baby - a boy - and she will say "Luke".

He will then hand her the second - a girl - and she will say "Leia" before tragically dying.

Oh, wait, hasn't that been done before?

Never mind...

Wobblebeans · 13/07/2017 13:13

GrinGrin

ElenaGreco123 · 13/07/2017 18:37

When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east," said Mirri Maz Duur.

This is related to a book character who is not in the show. He was Prince Quentyn Martell whose house sigil was the sun. He was born in Dorne and died in the east, in Meereen.

SafetyBird · 13/07/2017 18:48

Is that a fact or a theory, Elena?

OlennasWimple · 13/07/2017 18:54

Beyond - if you watch S1E1, some bits of that were actually shot well before the series proper as part of a pilot. Peter Dinklage has bright blonde hair, and looks terrible! D&D have said that they realised as time went on that they didn't need to try to completely copy the characters' descriptions, particularly where it didn't work for the actor (like Emilia Clarke not being able to wear violet contact lenses throughout filming)

Gods, I'm excited for Sunday!

notaslimceagirl · 13/07/2017 19:03

ElenaGreco - so has that part of the prophecy already occurred?

In the trailer it look like a Martell is kissing somebody - is it Arya?
