A sudden flurry of posts following Cal's death has brought us to the end of the last thread. So let's continue as we were - there's so many unanswered questions. Have we seen the last of Gem as she heads back to incarceration? How will Charlie and Duffy cope with Robyn and the baby? Who is next in line to be stabbed? Will the illegal strike continue now that Cal isn't there to lead it? And most of all, will Ethan be reunited with his specs?

Watching last nights. I was there when it was filmed in my local leisure centre. Very strange to see it on the tele!

Frith2013 · 07/05/2017 22:28

In the swimming pool, Jez waded in up to his waist. Ian grappled with the girl's dad in the shallows.

But in the ED, their clothes were completely dry!

Solo · 07/05/2017 22:42

I noticed that too Frith Hmm They are getting sloppy!

Yes to Louise actress being crap; and so is Kathy Shipton! Same acting school decades apart perhaps?

rosy71 · 08/05/2017 06:53

Ian's clothes were wet when he brought him into the ED.

TheDrsDocMartens · 08/05/2017 07:15

Grin at the eye sight cure

Solo · 08/05/2017 10:53

Thought it was just Jez that got into the pool...

yaela123 · 08/05/2017 20:16

Since when has Charlie had an office?

yaela123 · 08/05/2017 20:18

And I'm pretty sure Ian's clothes were soaked in the ED up to his shoulders even though the pool was only thigh deep

yaela123 · 08/05/2017 20:20

What else has the actor of the grieving dad been in? I'm sure I recognise him from somewhere!

yaela123 · 08/05/2017 20:21

Maybe Cal was stopping Ethan from being allowed to wear contacts? Sounds like something he would do

DubiousCredentials · 08/05/2017 20:39

Grieving dad was from London's Burning yaela.

TizzyDongue · 08/05/2017 21:32

yaela123 pretty sure someone said London's Burning (possibly on the other thread)

I'm also pretty sure that it was only Ian that went into the pool. He rushed Grieving Dad and they ended up in a shallow bit . Jez was pool side with life guard tied to conveniently found wheelchair

BubbleBed · 08/05/2017 21:57

Testicular cancer guy - was that the young Nick Cotton?

Solo · 09/05/2017 01:02

Just pulled it up on iplayer Blush and Jez wades in ankle deep and Ian tackles the dad into the pool and gets quite wet; he is still wet in the ED (looks like the fire hose was trickled over his back Hmm). You can't see anything on Jez in the ED.

Ethan got contacts a while back. He's been glassless before. It was part of a story line he had to try and not be so geeky. I always wonder when he finds time for his spray tan though.

Optimist1 · 09/05/2017 07:34

Yes, Bubble - I was sure I knew him from somewhere but couldn't figure out where from. He was Nick's son Ashley! Star

yaela123 · 09/05/2017 07:39

Francis Dubious But I've never seen London's burning

Never mind - I'm probably getting confused with someone else

Redcrayons · 09/05/2017 11:56

I thought they Londons Burning fella was also in Grange Hill, but Wiki tells me otherwise.

StiffyByng · 09/05/2017 11:57

The wife of the racist guy who died was Lucy Benjamin, wasn't it? All of EE in Holby right now.

If it was her then we may see more of the character maybe?

Solo · 09/05/2017 12:23

But they made a big thing of him having left his specs in the pub. Zoomed in and everything.

Hatethegym · 09/05/2017 21:53

Why does nobody know about or go to Albie's? Surely it's subsidised (given how often the Holby staff drink there) and much cheaper than the pub?!

Pixel · 10/05/2017 20:34

I would have thought contacts were quite difficult to wear when you are grief-stricken. I've never worn them but tend to think that sobbing and rubbing your eyes and all that wouldn't be good for keeping them in.

So I guess there is going to be some sort of rift between Ethan and Dylan then. We had Dylan obviously feeling guilty that he told Cal he wouldn't let him die, and lying to Ethan that he was unconscious when he found him. Then we had lots of rather obvious discussion between Ethan and the swimming instructor bloke about how the girl's dad only wanted the truth. You can see these things coming a mile off!

MirandaWest · 10/05/2017 21:06

I wear contacts and if I were grief stricken I would wear my glasses instead I think.

Redcrayons · 11/05/2017 11:52

Well if you've left your glasses in the pub, like no short sighted person would ever do, ever, then you'd have to. Or maybe wear your spare pair.

(Love that we're not letting the glasses go, I might write to Points of View Grin)
