A sudden flurry of posts following Cal's death has brought us to the end of the last thread. So let's continue as we were - there's so many unanswered questions. Have we seen the last of Gem as she heads back to incarceration? How will Charlie and Duffy cope with Robyn and the baby? Who is next in line to be stabbed? Will the illegal strike continue now that Cal isn't there to lead it? And most of all, will Ethan be reunited with his specs?

I seem to have got that one wrong. A thousand apologies. I was convinced Amanda meaning had a female partner who also had cancer and had passed away as a result.

I appear to be completely wrong about all of that.

I took that post to mean that Ethan started wearing his contacts after the big decision to be more Cal.

Kitty im very embarrassed, l was absolutely certain of it, I remember reading it and thinking wow how awful for both of them to have had breast cancer, I have either completely dreamt the whole thing or there is another female actress out there who I hugely admire, who has played a cancer survivor and had breast cancer, and whose feme partner has passed away.

Google suggests I have dreamt the whole thing 😕

Kill Connie, Ethan, Jacob ( reckon Elle would be better without him).
Charlie &Duffy can retire.
Dylan can be back being Dylan.
Sam can be a Dr again.
Bring back Zoe.

I think we need to lose Connie, Jacob, Robin and Glen. Elle is capable of being bearable if she stops simpering about her sex life. We can't lose Charlie, it wouldn't be Casualty without him. And yes, Sam being an ambulance paramedic is just ridiculous.

Unless used to wearing contacts it should have taken Ethan a while to wear them

I think that's it for casualty. Connie is the world's worst manager - bitchy, bad tempered, disorganised, promotes sex partners and now has been working while unfit. No real team would be upset about her . they might not actually celebrate her illness but it wouldnt ruin their time off.

She does walk better without stupid shoes, though.

That and the instant admission to a busy department - it has just got silly.

They are NOT doing this to Dylan.

That woman infuriates me! I know you are entitled to not act rationally when you are dying but why kiss him then freeze him out! I don't understand how this new surgeon is basically being portrayed as being able to operate on inoperable cancer!

How did I miss that? I was distracted by a 12 year old worried about an injured fox outside our house.

When Ethan and Connie were sat by the river drinking champagne they kissed or Connie kissed him, I'm not sure if he reciprocated as dcat was sticking her bum in my face.

He sort of let her kiss him and def didn’t recoil. There was a slight puckering of his lips. She pulled back and he said “erm Mrs Beauchamp” and she got flustered and stropped off. Forgetting she was at deaths door and couldn’t hardly speak or stand a few hours ago.

I felt that she kissed him and he sort of recoiled in surprise, but she read it as recoiling in shock/horror and couldn't bear to have anything to do with him afterwards.

The ill-advised car trip to London (surely an ambulance would have been a safer and possibly faster alternative?), Ethan's comedy running around the hospital corridors looking for Connie and the whole rigmarole was just ridiculous.

As was Dylan's sudden dependence on alcohol. Who was he phoning when he admitted everything had gone pear-shaped?

Anyone know the name of the music playing in the operating theatre? From an opera I would guess?

It was Lascia Ch’io Pianga from the opera Almirante, by Handel. I learned it when I was having singing lessons (and when I was a mezzo soprano, not an alto).

And that surgery would have been far, far longer than one aria!
