YES!
A very important win. There will be excuses no doubt from what remains of the Djok camp but Vamos!Grin

Raahh · 14/05/2017 18:11

I am trying to score watch on my phone whilst I iron.

This is a tougher match than Barcelona, it's not one of Rafa's favourite clay surfaces. Rafa had chances to take the set there.

Raahh · 14/05/2017 18:33

This is very tense, and I'm not even 'watching' Grin

Raahh · 14/05/2017 18:53

Just from the scores, I'm getting the impression Rafa's serve is not so hot today. It is always a weakness, but has been better lately.

Raahh · 14/05/2017 19:36

YES!

Vamos

I am so pleased for him. It's looking good for RG- and onwards to Rome....

Grin
JaneJeffer · 14/05/2017 22:52

Yay. Delighted he's keeping up his winning streak.

Raahh · 15/05/2017 10:14

He has a much easier draw this time around, on paper ,than of any tournament he has been in all year. He's had some bloody awful draws.

This probably means he will now lose to Seppi Grin

JaneJeffer · 16/05/2017 12:28

Kyrgios seems to have withdrawn from Rome with an injury.

Just seen that Federer won't be at RG this year. He's concentrating on grass season.

Raahh · 16/05/2017 12:48

Not sorry about NickGrin, or surprised about Roger really. Seemed a bit odd to turn up at RG with no preparation at other tournaments anyway. He didn't go there last year, so he's not defending anything.

Raahh · 16/05/2017 20:23

And no RG wildcard for Shriekypova. Which is as it should be.

Raahh · 16/05/2017 20:31

And she's just retired in Rome, though she was possibly going to win.

Maybe news of the WC got to her and she was too pssed off to carry on playing Grin

magimedi · 16/05/2017 22:49

YAY!!

DH came out the bedroom to ask why I was cheering.

Hope Wimbledon do the same.

Fuck off, Shrieky cheater!

JaneJeffer · 17/05/2017 10:09

Grin magi I have often had to mute the TV because of her.

Andy is having a bad run at the moment.

Raahh · 17/05/2017 13:27

Rafa through, sadly because Almagro retired. Makes a change that it's not Djok benefiting from that, though!

JaneJeffer · 17/05/2017 13:32

Almagro has badly hurt his knee during his match with Rafa so he's had to retire. Rafa was so lovely and concerned and went across the court to see if he was ok and they had a hug

Edmund/del Potro all level so far.

magimedi · 17/05/2017 13:43

Come on, EL Pot!

Raahh · 17/05/2017 13:56

I love Rafa.Grin

Vamos Potato!!

JaneJeffer · 18/05/2017 12:40

Zverev had just beaten Fognini. Fognini's wife is due to give birth any minute.

Fognini got very worked up over a line call and got a warning and the umpire told him "stop talking, that's enough now" Grin it was Mohamed Lahyani who's had some dodgy calls lately. Then there was a big discussion between the commentators Barry Cowan and Peter Fleming about hawkeye which was very funny. I thought they would come to blows.

I love clay season - it's so rowdy Grin

Raahh · 18/05/2017 12:47

They do all get very animated over line calls Grin. Can't wait for RG t start , will actually get to watch some! Grin

Hoping Bautista-Agut can pull off an upset against Djok later. You never know, it's been a funny old season.

Raahh · 18/05/2017 12:51

And Del Potro is up against Nishikori later- that should be good.

Juan is in Rafa's half though, sadly....

Raahh · 18/05/2017 13:00

Cilic has just beaten Goffin, which feel like a slight upset, though Marin is the higher ranked. Goffin has had a great season so far- but it is perhaps starting to take it's toll. It goes to show just how hard it is to do what Nadal has done so often, winning multiple tournaments in the clay season.

JaneJeffer · 18/05/2017 13:37

It's Barry Millns not Cowan as I thought.

Berdych is rocking the 1930's tennis player look. He's very elegant.

Raahh · 18/05/2017 16:52

Stan's out- he's not having a great year either.

The top half of the draw is pretty open now.

Raahh · 18/05/2017 18:48

Onwards for Delpo though, which is good. Thiem currently in trouble.

Raahh · 18/05/2017 19:09

Seems to have turned it around now. But Querrey likes to cause upsets .
