Maybe he can employ themGrin I saw the second half of second set and he was grinning to himself and over at his people...very odd!

Raahh · 11/05/2017 17:33

Will be interesting to see his what he says in his press conference.

Rafa at least admitted he played badly against Foggy. I'm a bit worried about him playing Nick. The seeds are falling fast. Not many left of the top 10!

Goingtobeawesome · 11/05/2017 17:37

Hi everyone. I love tennis and have watched Wimbledon for years but only found the Davis cup on the telly recently. When is the next tennis on and which channel please? I know nothing Blush.

JaneJeffer · 11/05/2017 17:42

Hi Going Madrid Masters on SkySports5 at the mo.

DramaAlpaca · 11/05/2017 17:48

Hello Going, you're in the right place for lots of lovely tennis chat Smile

Just seen Murray is out, he is so frustrating to watch at times.

Jane you are right about the weather at home being better than Spain, we've had quite a bit of rain here the last couple of days but according to my DC it's been gorgeous all week at home. I picked the wrong week!

JaneJeffer · 11/05/2017 17:55

Oh that's just typical Drama. Same thing happened us a couple of years ago. DS's friends were sending him photos of them at the beach here and we were in a rainy Spain Grin

Goingtobeawesome · 11/05/2017 18:31

Thank you. We don't have sky. Shucks.

Raahh · 11/05/2017 20:09

I was score watching the early games of the Nadal/Kyrgios match and it looked a bit shakey. They set ended well. and it seems to be going well so far in the second.

Raahh · 11/05/2017 20:27

yay!!

Great result. Happy now. i've been really tired all day, and struggling to stay awake. So that has cheered me up.

JaneJeffer · 11/05/2017 20:36

Going you can keep up to speed on here until it's on terrestrial TV.

The youngsters are doing well in Madrid.

Delighted Rafa won Grin

Raahh · 12/05/2017 12:10

Humph. Djok has a walkover against Nishikori.

Goingtobeawesome · 12/05/2017 12:28

Thank you JJ.

Raahh · 12/05/2017 16:12

Stuck in a meeting at my DDS school, and am surreptitiously checking the scores on my phone. Looking very close between Rafa and Goffin, who is looking for revenge after the other weekGrin

Vamos Rafa!

Raahh · 12/05/2017 17:16

Yay! Vamos Rafa! Good solid win, that will give him a lot of confidence.

He faces Djok next, for the first time in a while, which will be a test for both of them really.

JaneJeffer · 12/05/2017 17:29

I've just watched the highlights. Rafa looks so relaxed on court but Djok has had a good rest today. Coric/Thiem should be a good match later.

Raahh · 12/05/2017 17:37

I'm going to go with the theory that Djok isn't very match fit has sacked all his team, and being nearly 30 is playing on his mind. So Rafa will have the edge Grin. Rafa ought to be the favourite, the way he has played this season so far. I don't want the semi final to be the match were Djok remembers how to play. Grin

Raahh · 12/05/2017 17:45

I read what Miles Maclagan said about the Murray/Coric match. He has of course coached both. He seemed unimpressed by Murray's 'sarcastic' faces as he described them. But said Borna played really well. So yes, the Thiem/Coric match should be close. It's a shame Zverev lost- but Pablo Cuevas is still continuing to have a great year.

JaneJeffer · 12/05/2017 18:21

I saw Borna Coric speaking after the match yesterday and he seems like a lovely young man. If I had just beat the No. 1 player in the world I wouldn't be so humble Grin I'd be jumping around the place.

I've just been googling Ernests Gulbis as I was wondering what became of him. He hasn't got past first round of any tournament lately. It's a pity he didn't concentrate on his tennis. He could have been a great player. Being loaded does have disadvantages sometimes! I used to love his post-match interviews and press conferences, he's hilarious.

Raahh · 12/05/2017 19:13

Gulbis was great value, wasn't he? Hot headed, but far less annoying than Kyrgios for example. He had some good results- beating Federer at RG, iirc, but he really lost his way after that.

Raahh · 12/05/2017 19:14

And Coric does seem very nice - I didn't realise he was so young, he sems to have around ages.

Raahh · 13/05/2017 15:22

Gutted this Rafa/Novak match isn't the final, but it's a crucial watch. Rafa hadn't beaten him in 3 years, and i think if Novak wins it might just be the turning point for him. Having said that, Rafa has been playing brilliantly this year, closest to his best he has been for ages.

Raahh · 13/05/2017 15:29

I'm checking the scores and Rafa has broken Novak twice in the first 3 games... Not a bad start. Vamos

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 13/05/2017 16:05

Found it on TV here. 4 unforced errors for Djok in that game. (First game of 2nd set). Is he imploding?

Raahh · 13/05/2017 16:16

Not sure what's happening to him, but it's fine by meGrinI'll wait for the injury time out though...

I hope Rafa can pull this off.

My DDS have been refreshing the scores whilst I have been driving, I have been getting excited and they have been very bemused.Grin

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 13/05/2017 16:19

Cool 😎
