After watching worst tv of the 90's on five I was having a quick google of worse tv ever and one show universally panned was one I loved- called 'out of this world' 80's sitcom about a girl whose half alien and another one me and my sister remember but no one else about a ghost haunting a family that had moved into her house after she'd choked on a chicken bone.
What ransoms do you remember?

Coasting, set in Blackpool
I used to watch this as an 8/9 year old and fancied both of them, I'm not sure the storylines were meant for my age group but I couldn't wait to grow up and get a boyfriend like one of those two! ConfusedGrin

DramaInPyjamas · 03/12/2016 20:26

Just YouTubed the Coasting theme! Still remember the lyrics!!

Tunnocksmallow · 03/12/2016 20:26

I was trying to explain My So Called Life to DD2 the other day; she wasn't impressed. I loved it.
I used to watch an Australian show called 'Pugwall' about a teen boy who had a band with his mates and somehow got famous. No one I mention it to can ever remember it.

EverySongbirdSays · 03/12/2016 20:29

Oh all sorts went on mistofoless she set up the charity in series 1, and I don't think any of them knew she'd won for the first series.

Probs came when the husband found out

Then I think in a later series they lost all the money when it was found out the youngest had bought the ticket underage.

Seven Little Australians! Remember sitting with my Mum, Gran and Sis, watching the episode when Judy died - all of us weeping copiously....SadGrin

There used to be a program where children exchanged lives for ? a week - loved that. Can't remember what it was called but can remember the theme song "if I were you, do the things you do, see the things you see if you were me...." or something!!

MyWitlessPal · 03/12/2016 20:30

Count Me In. The presenter would try a new hobby every week. I can sing the entire theme tune but nobody ever remembers it.

Dramarama.

The Cedar Tree.

The Wall Game.

Let's Pretend.

Watch.

Touchacat · 03/12/2016 20:30

manic you're thinking of Grotbags. Loved that! Also loved girl from tomorrow.

I remember watching something called Mike and Angelo. It was a pile of tripe but I was a kid and transfixed....

Does anyone remember something on ITV on Saturday mornings - I vaguely remember bananas and a big pair of lips? Possibly Emu was on there too.

EverySongbirdSays · 03/12/2016 20:31

OllyBJolly · 03/12/2016 20:41

I loved Seven Little Australians and I remember The Kids Of 47a

Two adult shows I really enjoyed no one remembers are Spyders Web which used to be on a Friday night when I was babysitting. The other is Dream On which was a US surreal comedy. No idea why it wasn't so popular.

More recently (but not recent!) I loved Everwood and Northern Exposure

Maudlinmaud · 03/12/2016 20:45

I remember lots of these, our house was big on aussie soaps so Sons and Daughters and The country practice where firm favourites.

WowserBowser · 03/12/2016 20:46

Yy to most of these!

I was going to say Pugwall.

I used to love Heartbreak High.

E-Street
Round the Twist

papooshka · 03/12/2016 20:46

anyone remember The Changes from the 70's about kids who got affected by electricity pylons and heard noises. It was weird!
I remember Potty time too...craziness.
How about Animal Magic with Jonny Morris.

Bingybongybashy · 03/12/2016 20:50

Totally remember Monkey - reminds me of Friday evening, chippy tea with my (late) mum!! Happy days! Very very badly dubbed!! 😂😂

onedayimightforget · 03/12/2016 20:52

Itsa Bitsa was amazing. The best kids art TV programme.

Also early ER programmes like Your Face or Mine with Jimmy Carr and June Sarpong and Five Go Dating.

ShowOfHands · 03/12/2016 20:55

I remember Kissyfur, Sitting Pretty, So Haunt Me, Maid Marian etc

Also...

Poddington Peas
Johnny Briggs
Simon and the Witch
Rentaghost
Moondial

Also the dramas running up to Christmas like Narnia, The Borrowers.

The Secret Life of Us - Australian 20 something drama

Once and Again - US divorce drama

Loved all of these!

Chickydoo · 03/12/2016 21:15

Children of the stones was the electricity pylon thing I think.
