After watching worst tv of the 90's on five I was having a quick google of worse tv ever and one show universally panned was one I loved- called 'out of this world' 80's sitcom about a girl whose half alien and another one me and my sister remember but no one else about a ghost haunting a family that had moved into her house after she'd choked on a chicken bone.
What ransoms do you remember?

The Biscuits - cartoon dogs in medieval costumes- no one seems to remember this.

Used to watch So Haunt Me mentioned above and You Rang M'Lord. Also, loved Strange But True and Meet the Ancestors.

JustDanceAddict · 03/12/2016 18:17

Loved 'Would Like to Meet'

EllieQ · 03/12/2016 18:23

Potty Time was sublime! Those teeny tiny people.

Also sublime was 'barnaby bear' - 'real' "little bear and the water was made out of glittery tissue paper!! 😍😍😍

Pipkins - those scary puppets. Hartley Hare was some gruesome scratty thing!!!

Sea view with Yvette fielding. ''My sister and I still sing that song 'we're tommorow' that she sang stood in front of a full length mirror! 😂

Loved 'why don't you' and

MadHatters the hoisky poi sky thing was Noah's Island (I think) about a boatload of zoo animals who got shipwrecked on an island. My sister was obsessed and we still say oisky poisky Grin

Nobody but my sister and I seem to remember 'the little bits' which used to be on right before gummi bears on a Sunday morning. It was about little elf type people who lived in the woods.

And there was one called Pirates of Dark Water that I thought I'd imagined until YouTube!

formerbabe · 03/12/2016 18:48

Does anyone remember a comedy called "sitting pretty"?

CaveMum · 03/12/2016 18:48

I vividly remember a show on, I think Channel 4, which was basically Rik Mayall narrating fairy tales. I can't remember the title but think it was something like "Grimm Tales". The opening titles had him sitting in a chair that had legs like an ostrich!

Every single person I mention it to looks at me like I'm insane!

Brillig · 03/12/2016 18:49

God, I remember pretty much all of these. Watching was great - wonder what happened to the other lead, the young Scouse actress? The bloke (Malcolm?) still pops up in things, I saw him the other day.

Does anyone remember The Staggering Stories of Ferdinand de Bargos? It was bits of old films and TV programmes which were voiced over by comedy actors like Harry Enfield and lots of the Spitting Image people. It was totally surreal and hilarious. Dh and I used to virtually weep with laughter sometimes. I'd love to see it again but it seems to have vanished without trace, no DVDs or anything Sad

EverySongbirdSays · 03/12/2016 18:50

Yes Cave Mum I know the show you mean, I'll find it.

Songbird, I remember Kissyfur! My sister and I loved it! From what I remember, it was a really nice little cartoon! It was shown during Going Live, I think.

CaptainCallisto, I'd never have remembered 'The Little Bits', but now you mention it, I think I remember the theme song... Off to Google it!

EverySongbirdSays · 03/12/2016 18:54

Makes Brilligs day :

woodhill · 03/12/2016 18:54

Hartley Hair needed a make over, he was certainly scratty and Pig from Birmingham.

The highlight of my childhood was Hickory House with the talking mop and I think there was a scene where they made fun of the Head and Shoulders ad with the mop as the model

YokoUhOh · 03/12/2016 18:55

andnone I remember Tickle On The Tum (Tickle on the WHAT?) and Ghost Train.

I even sing the TOTT theme tune to DS1 - it's by Ralph McTell (Streets of London).

EverySongbirdSays · 03/12/2016 18:55

Yes Belfast - it was on before going live, I loved the feem toon.

zukiecat · 03/12/2016 18:55

Seven Little Australians (No one ever remembers this, they say I made it up,but I have the book too)

Come Back Lucy- Loved both the tv serial and the book, it was so spooky for 10/11 year old zukie!

Horse In The House, about a girl hiding her horse in her house, can't remember why, but I remember I wanted the horse called Orbit, I think to be mine Smile

YokoUhOh · 03/12/2016 18:56

Captain and Callisto I YouTubed the LittleBits a few years ago: it's horrendous!

YokoUhOh · 03/12/2016 18:58

boldly it was spelt The Biskitts and the theme tune was Lizst. I spent years looking for it, only to be very disappointed when I finally found it...
