MistyMinge · 13/12/2016 21:28

Patienceisvirtuous · 13/12/2016 21:31

Hideous!

seasidesally · 13/12/2016 21:31

oh didnt like that scene

Dulra · 13/12/2016 21:31

Didn't realise he killed the wife! That's obviously the body behind the wall. God he was a piece of work

Dulra · 13/12/2016 21:33

Oh no she's under the floorboards so who was behind the wall and why didn't all these bodies start to smell

seasidesally · 13/12/2016 21:34

i dont get how he can bury the body and think he will get away with it

Toddlerteaplease · 13/12/2016 21:41

I wondered about the smell as well.

seasidesally · 13/12/2016 21:45

im guessing but after his wifes murder it seem's like his body count was more

MistyMinge · 13/12/2016 21:45

Great acting from Tim Roth, but I'm struggling to actually watch it, knowing this vile man existed.

seasidesally · 13/12/2016 21:48

oh no

seasidesally · 13/12/2016 21:49

thought he was gonna move the body then

Dulra · 13/12/2016 21:59

God what an evil twisted man

Toddlerteaplease · 13/12/2016 22:02

I thought Evans had been pardoned if killing his daughter. Hope is us someday.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/12/2016 22:02

He is

Beebeeeight · 13/12/2016 22:16

I assume that house has been demolished?

ineedamoreadultieradult · 13/12/2016 22:18

Do you think he wanted to be caught? The hiding places for the bodies were obviously never going to work long term. Also how were the papers on the news stand declaring 'Christie kills wife' before he was even caught let alone convicted?

Lottapianos · 13/12/2016 22:21

Dear god that was bleak. Totally brilliant though - one of those programs that seriously gets under your skin. I think Tim Roth has just ruined Tim Roth for me - I may never be able to watch him in anything again after this. One of the creepiest performances I've ever seen

Poor Tim in the courtroom - he looked like he could not believe the car crash that was happening in front of his eyes. Wonderful acting and writing all round. Not sure I'll be sleeping all that well tonight!

eddiemairswife · 13/12/2016 22:39

Just two niggles:

Ethel appeared to be in court listening to Christie's evidence before she was called to the stand. I don't think that is allowed.

The other thing that really grated was, "So help me God." We don't say that, Americans do.
RTKangaSANTAMummy · 13/12/2016 22:48

I said the same thing to DH about her being in court before giving evidence

Patienceisvirtuous · 13/12/2016 23:02

Yes Bee it's been demolished. Shame, was a lovely house 😁😁😁

LovePGtipsMonkey · 14/12/2016 00:06

Lotta totally superb acting, creepy as nothing else, especially taking into account it wasn't too graphic - and the sex element was only hinted at but subtlety is much creepier than if it was blatant. Poor, poor young guy, and his mother.
ineed if you read the real story, he moved out of the house and was homeless/staying in different places that's why he wasn't caught for a while after the bodies were discovered by another tenant doing DIY. He was 'unlucky' to be recognised by a policeman when walking about - but really he didn't care by that point, he couldn't kill anymore, was homeless so he didn't care much, plus he was arrogant enough to think he won't be hanged as he could embelish his mental issues (hence going to doctors and telling tales about his blackouts to them).
For the life of me I still dont get it why his wife didn't leave - they lived separately already previously and her brother was inviting her to escape to his house - just why? grim house, grimmer husband and she must have known she's in danger. Just why? he must have had some hypnotic powers for all these women trusting him or being totally manipoulated like the wife. Btw she was the only woman he didn;t have sex with after killing her., shows he killed her because she guessed he was guilty, but he had some feeling for her.

NoahVale · 14/12/2016 06:54

so he was having sex with them once dead? it was hinted at wasnt it.
grim
well made programme though. chilling. and sad for timothy evans.
