I was pissed odd after s1 and we didn't know if dead or not as no body

I was thinking about it last night that I hope the DNA is def a lie like baptiste (and we previously) suggested rather than drilla and Sophie got Alice's body in there. To come through it all to find out they did bury the right remains and maybe she did actually die in that date anyway would be shit. Particularly if series one ended up with the missing boy dead (I didn't watch it). People wouldn't watch a third series if they always wind up dead. It would be less about finding someone and more about murder investigation.

I think Alice is dead in the shed.

Because I just don't see how either reference sample, or sample taken by German medics in a German hospital could have been interfered with by 'the Army' (as there are no military facilities capable of running DNA tests in Germany) and it's just too damned complicated to suborn all the people necessary to swop a sample, or fake/substitute results.

Especially as the doctor who was (possibly) tied in with it all had died several days beforehand.

Could someone, say drilla, say we're getting a DNA test to eve but just not actually get it done and then say it was a match. I mean would someone be checking that it was done if it was one person's job? It's not the police handling it as said by baptiste so they may not have or be following such a protocol

It wouldn't be one person's job.

And the father would know whether a sample had been taken or not. So unless he's complicit, the scenario cannot work. And once the mother knows, she could mention it to any investigators, so absence of test results from files could be noticed,

And the German police had the formal investigative lead, so would require the results on paper before closing the investigation into the death. And there is no way the German bureaucracy would do that without correct paperwork.

A swab could be taken but got rid of bjt your right about it being mentioned but baptiste said it was faked so he must have thought in the year that passed how they could have done that and specifically mentioned the military handling it not the police (or did I make that up? Sometimes I can't remember if I've read between the lines too much or it was said).

I think they could easily have Alice in the shed but I think it would lose viewers.

I'm also asking as I'm assuming baptiste is a super detective type rather than one that makes mistakes but I didn't watch series 1 so for all I know he does this all the time!

It's seems like they've really learnt their lesson from the first one and the clues actually lead somewhere. Fingers crossed anyway.

Yes baptiste said it was unusual that the German police weren't involved at all, and it was all done by the army.

At the time Baptiste said it was faked, he believed that the reappeared girl was Sophie and that it was her body in the shed, therefore could not be Alice, therefore DNA must be fake somehow.

What we know, but he didn't at the time of speaking, is that the girl who went into the shed is not the crispy critter that was found in it.

She was very heavily burned for a smallish shed fire, and the villains must have wanted her burned beyond the discovery of anything useful forensically. So was she incinerated beforehand, making her body lighter, though rather more fragile, to transport?
