just place marking for later on.

SapphireStrange · 16/11/2016 19:09

Sorry, yes, I am in the UK. I've watched it all on catch-up so had no grasp of when it actually airs, and convinced myself it was Thursdays.

Elendon · 16/11/2016 19:14

I think a lot of questions will be answered tonight, but there will be a twist.

Cannot. Wait.

FoxesOnSocks · 16/11/2016 19:15

X is secret code storminabuttercup, so secret even it doesn't know why its there.

Sadly though I think we saw his brain splatter out. I'm not medically trained or anything (though I am a first aider in work) but I think once your brain has splattered anywhere you might need more than anadin and a plaster. Solpadine, bandage and a shoulder rub hopefully not delusional

Manumission · 16/11/2016 19:17

My first aid course didn't cover brain-splatter either.

Elendon · 16/11/2016 19:17

I think the lovely and gorgeous Jorn is dead Sad

Last weeks episode was so shocking!

Iggity · 16/11/2016 19:33

I watched last week's episode on the tube on way home from work. I forgot where I was and was cringing, covering my eyes and making all sorts of faces during the drill scene. Wonder what was going through the mind of guy sat opposite me. So excited about tonight.

hollyisalovelyname · 16/11/2016 19:38

Foxes
Sure a drop of 7UP and he'll be grand.Smile

musicinspring1 · 16/11/2016 19:41

I thought there was brain spillage too but I admit to not looking too closely! I miss him already. Sad And I had high hopes for him and Eve. She was going to listen to his cd and fall madly in love...

MissMooMoo · 16/11/2016 19:44

Loving this show! Only realised on Sunday that I had missed last week's episode so I am happy its on again tonight.
Also loved young German police officer but think he is likely dead.

Marking place ready to watch it in the morning :)

Janus · 16/11/2016 20:17

Oh god, read the last few comments and wondered what you were talking about and just realised I missed last week's so off to find it on iPlayer!!
I've been raving about this to my 16 year old who has just watched the entire first series over past few days and had just come down having watched the last one. I can see her pain! It makes me want to sob remembering the last episode of series one too. Poor girl!

FoxesOnSocks · 16/11/2016 20:22

Boiled 7up I presume hollyisalovelyname?

AlasEarwax · 16/11/2016 20:23

Hello! I'm back from my deep dark cave after 3 days of watching series 1. Some of you may remember I was go into watch s1 for any clues or references to Sophie, Alice and Lena. The s1 and s2 timelines slightly cross over in 2014.

I didn't see anything relevant apart from baptiste accusing/suggesting that Tony Hughes had something to do with his son's disappearance, which is similar to Sophie's father in s2.

I did however finally work out that ending. I always suspected Ollie survived. I knew tony had driven himself mad and made himself a nuisance to society with his obsession. But watching every episode again, one after the other make things clearer and I've picked up on things I missed before. In the middle of the second to last episode, at the police station there's a missing poster with Ollie's photo. This particular poster has another picture, one of those photoshopped ones of what Ollie may look like now. That older version of Ollie IS the boy at the end, in Russia. If I've got it right, tony finally found him. But it was too late. We never saw Ollie's body, just the corrupt mayor guy looking in the back of the van where the body supposedly was bit we don't see.

I could be wrong, but Ive always suspected that boy at the end was older Ollie but now I'm pretty sure I'm right. Or I'm talking out my arse. Grin

I forgot quite how brilliant s1 really was!

Now I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for tonight!

LillianGish · 16/11/2016 20:23

I've been contemplating the horrific driller killer scene and come to the conclusion that it wasn't just gratuitous, but intended to tell us something about driller (who up until now was barely visible - except to one sharp-eyed poster on this thread Grin) Leaving aside the likelihood of having a fully charged black and decker lying around, we were left in no doubt as to what driller intended. He didn't just whack him with something and accidently kill him it was a very deliberate and brutal act. There is also a good chance the little girl witnessed what happened - not a nice man, no redeeming features. A baddie through and through.

LizzieMacQueen · 16/11/2016 20:32

If the girl drew the picture in 2016 is it likely to have come from 2014 when Sophie (if Sophie is the mother) would have been in a basement with her?

That assumes Sophie (having set fire to an already dead body in the shed

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 16/11/2016 20:38

Isn't the idea going to play out that the lawlessness and brutality of Iraq was formative to a group of men?

Now we know that army PR driller killer is one of them - demented Stone is probably another, and he said there were three.

That means we have one or two unknowns, depending on whether Stone was an active perpetrator or the officer who should have turned in suspects for brutality but didn't. I tend the former, because of what he said to Sophie/Alice (2 of them freed her, when she had appendicitis - and he knew that)

So one unknown?

I don't think it's Reed senior. Because he was the doctor, and my theory is that he was able to piece out from post-mortem what had happened to the Iraqi girl, but was unable to identify the perpetrators though he knew/suspected it was from within the British Army. RAMC is trickle-posted, so perhaps 2014 was the first time he re-encountered Stone and driller killer. And somehow he learned (or they thought he learned) things that incriminated the kidnappers/paedophiles, and murdered for it.

MarthasHarbour · 16/11/2016 20:40

Just settling into the shiny new thread.

Can not wait for tonight!

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 16/11/2016 20:45

Sophie has, I think, stockhausens.

But given that her reappearance was linked to (genuine) appendicitis, how far could her subsequent action have been planned? Saying. Her real name, Sophie, in the ambulance may have been an error brought on by the extreme pain of the advanced condition? If she had not said that, so much if the subsequent investigation would simply not have happened.

The body was Alice, according to paternal DNA match. So perhaps she was dead anyhow for some reason or another, and destroying her face in the fire was a way to obfuscate the real circumstances of her death. Case closed.

Meeting her captors, being briefed on the next stages of the plan, must have happened in the Missing 3 hours. As must have the movement of real Alice's body to the shed.

Ludditerebellion · 16/11/2016 20:52

I'm not a frequent poster but have ruminating theories and wanted to suggest.... Henry Reed's dad was killed/died a few days before 'Sophie'returned- she laid flowers on his grave, is that because she felt guilty for having been responsible for or complicit in his death? Or was she grateful because he had tried and failed to rescue her? Either way, whatever he did was directly linked to her escape.

Also title shots look like they contain clues to me... I haven't investigated very closely but I thought I saw a toy clown, a comic book with something written nd a cellar with yellow poles outside. .. anyone else think that?

Here we go, folks!

Lovelybangers · 16/11/2016 21:02

So three episodes to go?

TheSpottedZebra · 16/11/2016 21:03

Ooh, new thread! And I'd not caught up on the old thread yet. And now there are MORE THEORIES already on this one, and it's started already...
