Foxes he was cleaning up the blood at his own place and then went to the Jorns house and was holding the large bag/hiding.

FoxesOnSocks · 16/11/2016 23:46

Certainly don't think Drills is a goody. I'd imagine drilling someone in the head gets your Goody membership card revoked, most likely for life.

Who just watched series 1, I've just got a desire to go back and see of Sophie is included in that wall of lost children posters!!

Elendon · 16/11/2016 23:46

He was cleaning the floor later in his house Foxes. Lucy had a drawing on her bedroom wall when she was being 'comforted' by Drilla, after having a nightmare about what she had seen (the death of Jorn).

FoxesOnSocks · 16/11/2016 23:47

Ah right, thanks TheFlounder. Honestly with all houses being totally IKEAified it's confusing!! Not that it takes much to confuse me.

FoxesOnSocks · 16/11/2016 23:49

I see Elendon, but who is the 'dead girl' spoken about up thread?

Elendon · 16/11/2016 23:53

The dead girl could be either Lena or Alice (I think Lena, because it looks like a mountainous region, maybe near the Fairground?) I think Alice's body was kept in the other room and then disposed of in the shed.

Certainly, Sophie knows Brig 'I don't know how you live with yourself.' I think Sophie was part of a prostitute ring.

MrsderPunkt · 16/11/2016 23:55

The most pressing question of the evening must be 'did anyone else spot Mrs Baptiste as Scarey Berry on I'm a celebrity?

Elendon · 16/11/2016 23:55

And with that, I'm off to bed! Remember, 'Don't have nightmares, sleep well!'

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 16/11/2016 23:58

How old is Lucy, Sophie'a daughter?

I'm wondering if Sophie was originally abducted to service a paedophile ring that had its foundations in the abuse of the girl in Iraq? My money (currently) is on the Brig, Drillar and Nadia being or having been in some disgusting ring and that the black, dead, army chap found out what they did and felt bad hence he sent the money back to Iraq as a sort of compensation for his guilt and failure to prevent what happened happening. Or he might have been complicit too. The actor who plays Daniel'a dad is quite well known and has only been seen in photos so far. That's far too small a part for someone so well known so he must turn up later doing significant. It was the same with the Scottish actor - well known and too insignificant.

If Sophie was pregnant at the time of Alice's abduction she may have been chosen for that reason, to replace Sophie. Or they may just have wanted to expand and I reckon Alice was groomed before she was taken - she had been bunking off before she disappeared.

I think the army guy was murdered because he found out about Sophie, having been aware of the ring from Iraq. I bet he insisted on her getting medical help or maybe he betrayed the others and allowed her to escape and get help or just persuaded them - hence her putting flowers on his grave because she was grateful for his actions.

I don't know who the body in the shed is, just that the plan was always to have it burn down and people think it was Alice to allow Sophie to escape. It may well have been Alice, like the last series where some things just weren't as complicated as they appear.

I'm not entirely convinced Sophie's dad is as innocent as he makes out. I think Baptiste may have been right in the first place.

What I love about this show is there are so many possibilities. So many twists and I can't work it out. Usually I spot the murderer and/or the twist early doors but I'm really enjoying this series and not knowing!

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/11/2016 00:15

So thugtwins beat up the butcher and yet, when we saw this, the one on the left had long hair. RED HERRING! They are messing with our minds!

I don't think wossname framed butcher - she will help Baptiste find out the truth.

Sophie will kill Drilla.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/11/2016 00:17

And some of us were right on the last thread when we said the dna samples had been swapped. [smug]

FoxesOnSocks · 17/11/2016 00:23

Dunno about the red herring. Its possibly they beat her up and thought, that was fun let's become skin heads!!! Or quick!! It's a different time period need a haircut.

Honest ly though the new time period 2015 was almost too much for me to handle. Though it was present day because of burns and messed up son

AlasEarwax · 17/11/2016 00:30

foxes that was me!!! Grin

I was convinced she would be as the timelines match but she wasn't. I looked at every poster etc throughout the whole series and nothing! Read my post on the 1st page of this thread as I did finally figure out for sure what happened to Ollie in s1.... I think!

AlasEarwax · 17/11/2016 00:36

MrsderPunkt haha I saw that! I watched The Missing then I'm a celeb straight after and thought god Mrs Baptiste looks rough!! Grin

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 17/11/2016 01:11

And some of us were right on the last thread when we said the dna samples had been swapped. [smug]

I don't think that has been confirmed yet - just suggested??

I thought the hair on the beater-uppers was part of the mask Confused

EnidButton · 17/11/2016 01:58

I thought the hair was part of the mask too. It was a clown mask, they often come with attached red hair.

"Good girl" Sad Ugh.

Sophie said she looked like a boy when he cut her hair. Made me recall Ilsa. She knew something and we'll see her again I'm sure. Can't work out what she knows though. Strange that she looked at her wrist when the two girls we've seen had a tattoo on their wrists. Red herring maybe.

ClassmateHB · 17/11/2016 06:11

Maybe the girls were put to work in the brothel for a period, and illsa knew?

ClassmateHB · 17/11/2016 06:11

Maybe that's how Henry found out/got involved and he tried to help?

shinynewusername · 17/11/2016 06:57

I don't think wossname framed butcher - she will help Baptiste find out the truth. Sophie will kill Drilla

Yes to both.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 17/11/2016 06:59

There are three missing girls and the a brigadier spoke of 3 involved people.

There's a dead body in the shed - possibly real Alice

If the drawing is not a red herring - there's one body and two (then) alive.

Lena may well be dead as Sopie burnt her glasses in the cabin. (Though contacts or laser eye surgery are also possibilities). But she might be the dead in Switzerland person.

Sophie clearly knew all about the cabin in Switzerland when Driller was telling her she needed to go there alone for a while. I think that's where the girls were held most of the time (otherwise in basements in German married quarters). Place found in the search in the wood is part of false trail set by kidnappers to try to disguise the real locations.

Driller, Stone and Reed senior were all in Iraq as was Nadia, who was then in a more senior role to D and S, and when she saw S in 2014 there was clearly difficult history there.

Reed senior, as doctor, would have been under separate chain of command. So I think he knew (perhaps because he was a doctor) that the girl must have been abused to death by British soldiers, but may not have known who was responsible. But he arranged the private pay-offs to the family.

Was he the third man who later developed a conscience and was murdered before he exposed them? Or was he always suspicious and had come across some actual evidence and was killed to silence him?

Is Reed junior really dead?

GreatPointIAgreeWithYouTotally · 17/11/2016 07:05

AllPowerful

Are you HarryP?

Was missing your summaries...

GreatPointIAgreeWithYouTotally · 17/11/2016 07:08

I thought he showed her the photo because she hadnt been there before? She had heard about it but not actually been.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 17/11/2016 07:09

Lies about DNA have not been confirmed. Army holds DNA of personnel posted to certain operations as matter if routine (unless individual opts out) which might explain why they did used records where they could. But it's a bit of a nonsense that they took the sample from shed body though.

Which does tend to make me wonder if it's a red herring, because putting a major plot point onto a flaky bit of procedure - no one could have counted on the German authorities not carrying out the tests. But it does add a lot to the brooding atmosphere and the idea there is significant and pervasive criminality.

And of course these was a real body in the shed, if not Alice then who? why have Sophie say she's Alice if they didn't have Alice's body to dispose of?

(I don't think they took routine DNAbsamples as early as the 90s though. And there's been no mention of what Sam has been doing between then and the time of Alice's disappearance).

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 17/11/2016 07:12

I'm not HarryP.

I started watching on iPlayer this week, and so have only just joined on this thread - so sorry if I'm msaying lots that was said on earlier ones.

(I was on Missing 1 threads under an earlier posting name. Forgive me for not saying who!)

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/11/2016 08:38

More flakiness: the way the hospital staff sedated Stone after he tried to leave - stabbing him in the neck with needle and him passing out within three seconds. This does not happen (to be fair, not the first time I've seen this sort of thing on TV/films)
