Evening all. Yes, this thread does seem to have gone on much longer than any of our others.

I've had a stressful week, just waiting to hear if I've got my VR. I've made no secret of the fact I want to go but have now had loads of people asking "Have you got your figures yet" and when I say no, it makes me even more stressed. Thank goodness, I have a ladies long weekend away in Chester and am off on Monday.

I have a bag of stuff to take to the charity shop tomorrow morning. It looks as if we are in for heavy rain again so I don't think there will be any gardening done so it will force me to clean the kitchen which hasn't been done for a couple of weeks other than a quick lick and a promise.

Ilovelblue · 24/02/2017 22:35

Just spotted this. Not for the faint hearted. There are some very odd topics discussed on here.

Rhubarb01 · 24/02/2017 22:50

Yes, I saw that on the discussions bit ilove and had a brief read before scratching my head and wondering what on earth is in someone's mind to come up with such an utterly gross idea. It sounds preposterous and unhealthy and according to someone on that thread was invented by a misogynist.

Rhubarb01 · 24/02/2017 22:52

Mind you there was one comment from someone that suggesting the inventor should use the glue on his mouth to stop anymore bullsh*t escaping which made me laugh.

Ilovelblue · 24/02/2017 22:56

Yes, I think he must have been a misogynist. Still find it strange that people actually want to post stuff like this.

Rhubarb01 · 24/02/2017 23:06

Oh my goodness, I hesitate to say this but have you never seen the trending threads that pop up from time to time where someone is constipated and desperate and asking for advice. It's hard to believe but there are dozens and dozens of people out there with suggestions - mind boggling!

On the plus side I've seen couple of threads, one in particular where a lady posted about a really bad period which started off sounding like a bit too much information but the advice she was given actually saved her life as she had sepsis and was really poorly in hospital - she posted a day or two later to thank everyone - so you never know.

Evening all - just checking in after a delightful evening spent in the company of BA. So close I could've touched him but I managed to resist Grin

Will give more details in the morning when dh has gone out for the day!

Ilovelblue · 24/02/2017 23:12

TRish47 · 25/02/2017 07:30

I am looking forward to hearing about your evening Always. The play seems to have been a tremendous success. I see the the Aldridge Army are going to the final night. Someone had knitted a fox which they intend to give BA.
Beautiful day here in NZ I do hope your weather is warming up. Has Doris blown its self out ? Night all xx

Nickel45 · 25/02/2017 09:04

Can't wait to hear what you thought of BA the play.

Lots of trees down round here, one damaged a car quite badly down our road, but had a lovely sunny day yesterday, and seems Doris has gone thankfully.

kuia sending you hugs (sorry, bit late getting back on here), so sorry to hear your news xxx

Hope anyone going tonight has a fab time ... Grin

KeziaOAP · 25/02/2017 09:39

Been without internet access and clearing up after Doris! DD had an appointment when we got back, green recycling bins left a trail of rubbish across garden and my lovely garden arbour seat was upended in the pond, DS and SIL hoping to put it back in place today. Shocked that it moved was tied down to two concrete blocks.

Kuia hugs to you x

Morning! That was a very enjoyable evening! The theatre is really tiny, and I took Wycombe's advice about where to sit despite DH's protests that he thought elsewhere was better. We weren't quite first in but the prime spot was still free! After we'd bagged the seats I nipped out to the loo and when I came back a lone woman had sat down next to me. As the rest of the theatre was still largely empty I did wonder if she'd read Wycombe's advice! Wasn't you rich, was it?!

The play is 90 minutes with no interval and no re-admission so I was bit concerned about dh's bladder as he'd consumed a pint in the bar first and then brought another upstairs. It went very quickly though, and all was well on the bladder front! A couple of the reviews I'd read suggested it was too long, but I disagreed - happy for it to go on all evening!

Ben was slighter and younger looking in real life than I expected, even with the beard! And very hair free arms, for someone with such dark curly hair. I think that added to the seeming young.

The play was really good I thought- not as "out there" as I'd been expecting from the reviews, and several amusing moments. Ben was great - as someone else said he was wasted in series 2. It was a very intimate performance- he was literally touching distance for much of the time, although as I said last night I sat on my hands resisted! Without sounding like a complete latch there were some nice flashes of abdomen when he raised his hands and his t- shirt lifted! It was funny at the end, as the lights went down and all was quiet, meaty Ben lying on stage. Several seconds went by then he said "will one of you clap, please?!" In a humorous tone! No one had wanted to clap until sure it was over I guess, and he was obviously thinking we needed a nudge or he'd be there all night!

Dh took no persuading to have another pint afterwards (the pub has real ales) so we were in the bar for a bit. Ben appeared and greeted quite a few people, then sat down for a chat with a couple he seemed to know. The lone woman who had sat next to me took herself over and introduced herself and sat with them, kudos to her, I wouldn't have been brave enough on my own. I wasn't brave enough not on my own, but I didn't feel the need to be honest. We were only sitting a few feet away anyway. He did indeed appear to be a lovely bloke, no airs and graces, no "look at me I'm a star".

So that's about it really! Sounds like tonight will be a memorable last night with the fans out in force, is anyone on here going?

Alwaysfrank · 25/02/2017 10:16
  • lech not latch!
Alwaysfrank · 25/02/2017 10:17

Meaty?!I meant "with" - strange autocorrect!

KeziaOAP · 25/02/2017 10:37

Frank quite like meaty Grin

KeziaOAP · 25/02/2017 10:41

My relative went last weekend thoroughly enjoyed the performance, she's seen some of BA's other theatre performances thinks this is one of the best and totally wasted in OG!

Rhubarb01 · 25/02/2017 10:41

Yes, always that autocorrect has an inbuilt 'Freudian Slip' program I think! Grin

Glad you had a nice time. Thank you for the detailed feedback. I wonder if the lone woman was a reviewer/something in the threatre world or something of that ilk. I can't imagine just wandering over because I felt like introducing myself - you can tell I've never got anywhere much in the world!

Richtea19 · 25/02/2017 11:19

always it wasn't me! I wouldn't of been that rave to go up to him!!!

I'm going this evening, and thanks for the tip of the length of the play without an interval, my bladder is t what it used to be!!
I'm really looking forward to it and the thought of a possible glimpse of BAs torso is a bonus Wink

DH isn't going with me but he is in London for the evening for a family meal.. which i conveniently got out of!

Richtea19 · 25/02/2017 11:19

Brave not rave!

icemistOBE · 25/02/2017 12:05

Enjoy rich

Fab review always

pixieg1rl · 25/02/2017 12:06

Oh Always, that's hilarious about the applause bit at the end. Someone started clapping very soon after the lights went down so we were nicely prompted.

kazzaD66 · 25/02/2017 12:07

Always glad you had a good time not jealous in the slightest and thanks for the review /feedback. Have a fantastic time tonight rich - are you planning on taking any photos that you then may want to share on here....?!Smile
