Loving all the great reviews about BA and glad to hear he enjoys playing CJ (thanks again Ice) so hopefully he will get a good part in the next series. Plus some more good roles for us all to watch. Still to watch SS and think I will start with the subtitles!

Nickel45 · 20/02/2017 14:33

wycome did BA remember you from before ... Or did you keep that quiet from DH? 😉 Grin

pixieg1rl · 20/02/2017 14:44

I need to commend Wycombe on her husband training. He looked happy to be along for the ride and unfazed by it all.

Nickel45 · 20/02/2017 14:44

Maybe now he's done something a bit more substantial, pix, he'll bow out of OG ... He can't have been happy with the fill-in role he had last time, I wouldn't have thought. And I wonder if he's still thinking about the U.S., or whether he's decided to stay over here. Didn't he say in some interview somewhere that he wanted to do stuff he'd not done before, and stratch himself (or something like!?).nhuess it'll be a case of watch this space (or Twitter, anyway!!!!).

moojangles · 20/02/2017 15:12

Glad you enjoyed wycombe! Sorry I had to be quite so vague, couldn't reveal my alter ego

pixieg1rl · 20/02/2017 16:58

As much as I'd love him to do another OG (and hope he's offered it), I just meant he's a better actor than the last series let him be.

He's good enough to be a lead, and he had a major bulge part in S1. Series 2 didn't give him a part to match that, and with the publicity he's got from Run the Beast Down, plus the films/shorts he did last year he could do better. Hopefully if he's in TG will give him something meatier this time (as long as he doesn't kill him off- I like to think CJ and Molly are happy together off screen)

Oh pixie I thought it was only me who thought like that!!

Nickel45 · 20/02/2017 18:25

Ditto to that pix.

pixieg1rl · 20/02/2017 18:33

Swoon, nickel

Rhubarb01 · 20/02/2017 18:52

Evening ladies! On the subject of BA and CJ I can't help feeling that CJ is somewhat diminished without Molly. Personally I'd be very happy to see a series in which the domestic trials of being a married couple in the army played a significant part of the story - hold on wasn't that Soldier Soldier years ago? I think there could be plenty of stuff for BA to get his teeth into.

I'm sort of with you all on the thoughts that I'd rather see a series without CJ - weeps uncontrollably - than one without some decent dramatic storylines of his own.

kazzaD66 · 20/02/2017 19:54

I sort of agree with everyone's sentiments. As much as I would love to see anything of BA /CJ, I don't really want to see him in a reduced, emasculated role because I think both BA and CJ are better than that; and surely CJ would be a major by now, so not sure how involved he would be anyway. Tough call and unfortunately, I think it will be a lose / lose situation. I just wish Lacey T could find a couple of days out of EE to film a couple of sublimely romantic CJ/MJ scenes Confused

Rhubarb01 · 20/02/2017 20:04

Let's hope the long wait for the cast list is down to contract wranglings and maybe LT is able to film a bit for the series - I said before I'd settle for some skyping conversations if that was all that was possible, subject to CJ having a big part Grin. I know it is wishful thinking and probably poor old TG is just struggling with those final script/story decisions but it would be nice wouldn't it!

Ilovelblue · 20/02/2017 22:27

Agree with everyone that CJ needs a bigger part in series 3 and I am sure he would be promoted to Major by now.

Slight change of subject but am I imagining it when I say BA is to be in a second series of Fleabag?

It sounds as if everyone who has seen BA at the theatre recently has enjoyed it. When is somebody going to tell those of us who couldn't make it there what the plot was all about?

kazzaD66 · 20/02/2017 22:46

Some photos of BA from any of those lucky enough to have seen R The B D and meet him afterwards would be fantastic aswell.

Wycombe123 · 20/02/2017 23:30

Answers to a few questions then ladies!

pixie, nickel, ice Husband very well trained and obviously very lucky to have an evening out with me! He knows about my obsession but maybe not the extent. Had to laugh he said today he wants to watch the OG dvd again - he doesn't realise it is practically worn out. He was very taken with BA but obviously not for the same reasons as me! Pretty sure BA didn't recognise me from before 😆 and no photos this time.

Definitely need to get the front seats on the left hand side alwaysfrank about half way along and you really will have BA at your feet! Also it is worth getting the programme as it has the script in it and I enjoyed reading afterwards to fill in a few gaps.

ilove tricky to explain the story but briefly Charlie loses his job and
girlfriend, has a breakdown and is haunted by a fox that he 'runs down' - not sure if that is helpful. BA is amazing, accompanied by a great soundtrack played on stage by the DJ, made a truly memorable evening.

I hadn't noticed you were vague moojangles - hope I didn't put my foot in it and will blame my wine consumption if I did!

I hope BA is in the next series and has a big part as it were Smile.

Richtea19 · 21/02/2017 07:30

Wycombe thanks for the synopsis, it might be a bit high brow for me! I will definitely get the program, although still haven't told DH I'm going! I'm going for short sharp tell him on the night!

Reading though everyone's thoughts on BA OG Season 3, I would love to see him in it, but not as a side role. Given all the positive reviews he has/is receiving I do think he will be moving on to bigger and better (I hope)! Otherwise it would be a sideward move for him if it is a repeat of series 2. Another series of Fleabag would be good Grin

icemistOBE · 21/02/2017 07:52

When do you go rich?

Everyone has raved about the play. I've only see one negative review and that was about the play itself rather than BA.

2nd day of half term, speech therapy for youngest then I'm off to see 50 shades with some friends from work. Then I'm in work for rest of week so my half term finishes today Grin

I like the idea of Mr Wycombe being a fan of BA but for different reasons.

If BA goes on to bigger roles after this, we will be like proud parents having sootted his talent earlier!

What has everyone thought of Fifty Shades? None of my friends will entertain it so if I go, it will have to be on my own.

Alwaysfrank · 21/02/2017 08:30

Thank you for the tips, Wycombe! What an opportunity to get up close Grin

Did you get there very early to get your pick of the seats?

Rhubarb01 · 21/02/2017 16:49

Afternoon! Nice intel about BA's play. It sounds fascinating, experimental and quite intense. I don't get to see plays very often I have to admit - not because I don't like them but usually because I can't find anyone willing to attend amongst the philistines in this house! DH and I used to go more often but not since we had kids. DD and I went to see 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time' last year in London which was very good but that was the last outing.

There was a lot of discussion on the radio today about mumbling on TV. Both Radio 4 this morning and Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 were discussing the SS-GB mumbling issue and sound on dramas in general. One of the experts they were interviewing reckons it's a creative decision by the actor as to how they speak and that Sam Riley has chosen to speak the way he does because it's in keeping with the murky. dangerous world he's working in. There has been so much criticism I feel a bit sorry for him as it distracts from the drama and the plot. I actually thought it was very good and I have downloaded the book and started reading but possibly because I just went for subtitles from the start I didn't notice that it was such a problem as others have said.

Ilovelblue · 21/02/2017 21:36

Evening everyone. What a rubbish day at work it's been. It's been the start of compulsory redundancies and I am so glad I put in for VR last week. I had a whinge yesterday to one of our managers (not the main guy) who was so bloody calm, measured and rational that I got even more wound up! I can't understand what's taking so long. Anyway, to cut a long story short, our main manager has said my application has been approved! Hurray. Still not seen any figures yet though. I'm relieved, nervous and excited in equal measures.

SoEverybodyDance · 21/02/2017 22:27

Hi ladies...

I don't think I can be bothered to watch OG3 if BA doesn't have a meaty role... OG2 was a disappointment. I didn't connect in the same way and I've never watched it since. MK WAS sugartits and some parts of the story were just too absurd.

Tbh I'd be quite happy for CJ to get involved with someone else in OG3. I know that might upset a few people, but the 'controversy' could engage us all again – we could have some meaningful scenes, pent up anger, dirty looks, shirt off action, a JenMC style seduction etc...

It could be a win-win situation... BA could be properly rewarded, TG could be thanked rather than moaned at (poor man) and we'd have something for everyone to come back and talk about for the next two years. (I mean this thread's been dragging on since November FFS!)

What's not to like?

Ilovelblue · 21/02/2017 22:35

Pitch it to TG Dance!

Rhubarb01 · 21/02/2017 22:52

I hear what you're saying Dance but I fear that the moment CJ smiled over the coffee cups at Dr Boring and said "My wife's a serving soldier" whilst giving us a flash of that shiny gold band, the romantic story was over for him. I can already hear the sound of my heart breaking for poor Molly if he were to go off and get himself mixed up with some floozy - yes lots of controversy I agree, but I fear we might just end up hating him. I'm not sure I could bear that - pathetic I know but true - it would be like making everything that happened in the first series a complete lie, you could never watch it and feel the same again - well I couldn't.

I suppose we could go down the stereotypical route of blaming it all on a scheming woman - poor CJ duped and too weak to resist poor man just like all those other poor men misused by those awful women out there - speaking of whom - where is woof when you need her, sounds like just the role for her.

icemistOBE · 21/02/2017 23:29

Evening, rather enjoyed 50 shades,2 hours of escapism.

Thing is no male role in OG will be that big as the story is Our Girl. We only had so much of him in 1st series as he was Mollys love interest. I've had some discussion about the chemistry between CJ and Georgie as they seemed much better pairing than Georgie and Dr Jamie/ Elvis but there would be huge outcry if TG split him and Molly up.

Glad your VR is sorted (nearly) ilove we will have to meet up again for lunch
