Asimov blocks should make all synths incapable of committing suicide, if they mean what they sound like they mean.

Asimov's 3 Laws of Robotics (from memory)
1 - Don't hurt humans, or through inaction let them be hurt
2 - Do as humans say, unless doing so will go against rule 1
3 - Don't let yourself be hurt, unless rule 1 or rule 2 override this

Presumably synths also have "do as your primary user says above what other people say".

So if a synth had to put itself at risk to stop a human being hurt it would be able to. And if a synth was ordered to do something that would result in it being hurt, it would. (probably)
