Just coming out of lurking to say that last episode was fantastic - lots of strands coming together now.
Can't wait to discuss!

Giselaw · 29/11/2016 10:09

I've read that the director has a reputation for tying all the bits together in the second to last episode and then blowing everything out of the water in the season finale. Which I hope doesn't happen as I like the feeling of finally having things confirmed. I don't want any bloody polar bears running through Westworld, thank you.

Spoiler alert.............

So another theory is that the new storyline Ford is planning is Maeve "breaking" out and leading a revolution. Given we saw how genius Bernard was in programming (and thinking up code even Ford couldn't) and how Ford still is able to maintain complete control over him, I can't see Maeve really going rouge and Ford not knowing about it. I think he's letting her play it out as part of a new storyline.

CaptainBraandPants · 29/11/2016 22:11

Wow! Mind totally blown.
I'm finally ready to believe that William is the MIB.
Question, who is Wyatt? I think it will be someone we've already met. Maybe Dolores or Maeve.
I can't wIt for next week, but I am also so sad that this season will be over then.

BifsWif · 29/11/2016 22:45

Absolutely brilliant episode, I can't wait for next week but I don't want it to end!

CaptainBraandPants · 29/11/2016 22:52

I think I'm going to re-watch all the episodes when it's finished to see if I can spot all of the clues I missed first time around.

Kitsandkids · 29/11/2016 23:06

But William can't be the man in black now can he? As when she said 'William?' in the church, the MIB answered, 'No, Dolores.'

MrSlant · 29/11/2016 23:16

I tell you one thing, learning programming at the moment and I understand about one word in five when they talk about it. Must try harder to remember that this is hopefully more like medical dramas when they talk bollocks half the time fudge it a bit, or I don't stand a hope in hell of ever qualifying high enough to do the actual job Grin.

When she said 'William?' in the church I got the impression it was because she couldn't see who it was against the sun so was hopeful?

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 29/11/2016 23:54

I thought he said 'hello Dolores.' So we're still guessing is he/isn't he the MIB? And D's reaction would fit with shock and horror at seeing MIB when she expected W, or at the realisation that W had 'found' her as he'd said he would, but he was the MIB.

Bambambini · 30/11/2016 00:50

I'm finding it hard keeping up. Tonight was the best episode though so far.

Kitsandkids · 30/11/2016 07:39

I thought it was no, not hello, but can't be sure. I'll have to watch it again!

It was a good episode. But poor Bernard.

Orangetoffee · 30/11/2016 08:05

Wow, few questions answered, many more raised, loved it!

Poor Bernard indeed. So we have seen him both as Arnold and Bernard having his conversations. I was wondering if it was him putting ideas in the hosts heads.

And I too thought MIB said 'hello Dolores'

Bambambini · 30/11/2016 08:13

Orange - good point. The long indepth convos with Delores were with Arnold years ago. I had wondered when I realised Bernerd was a host if. He had been made to look like Norman.

ijustwannadance · 30/11/2016 09:23

Who's Norman? Do you mean Arnold?

Hope they finish it well next week.

Giselaw I was thinking that too about Ford still being in control of the rogue hosts. Like it's part of his master plan.

CaptainBraandPants · 30/11/2016 10:00

So, is Ford a host, too? Or am I just getting paranoid now? When he was talking with Bernard he said something along the lines of "he made us in their image". So, I wondered if the "us" bit meant they were both hosts!

Orangetoffee · 30/11/2016 10:23

captain stop! my brain can't handle it Grin
Arnold creating Ford who creates Arnold

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 10:56

Up to date now. Was waiting for the mib to say "I told you I'd find you" so maybe he isn't William cause now that's too obvious Grin

TheHiphopopotamus · 30/11/2016 11:40

It's all pointing towards William being the MIB but I'm still holding out hope that he isn't for some reason.

So has Ford dug the church up and rebuilt it? I'm assuming that the 'town swallowed by sand' (or whatever they called it) is where the hosts were being taught to dance and in the later timeline, was the solitary spire. My head hurts trying to work it all out Confused

Has anyone seen the trailer for episode 10? It's on YouTube if anyone's interested.

rumbelina · 30/11/2016 12:05

I need some kind of a map or list of places and what happened there and to whom.

I'm a bit lost with the towns..... but part of that is not knowing the timelines as well.

GrabtharsHammer · 30/11/2016 12:09

Sweetwater is the town at the beginning, where Maeve's brothel is, Delores' farm is just outside sweetwater.

Pariah is where Logan and William ended up, and where they met Lorenzo (I think!)

I believe the town under the sand, now unearthed again, is called armistice.

I'll see if I can remember anymore but that's all I've got off the top of my head.

GrabtharsHammer · 30/11/2016 12:14

Las Mudas is where Lawrence's family lives and where Delores spoke to the little girl (L's daughter)

GrabtharsHammer · 30/11/2016 12:22

Oh, compeltely ignore me about Armistice, she's the bandit with the snake tattoo! Grin

Orangetoffee · 30/11/2016 12:22

The town with the church was the town where everything started 35 years ago.
This town was buried in the sand 30 years ago when William and Dolores found it.
The town is back in use now for the new Wyatt narrative and is where the last episode ended.

GrabtharsHammer · 30/11/2016 12:31

Yes. It was presumably training ground for the hosts before the park opened. And whatever happened with Delores/Arnold/possibly teddy happened there.

GrabtharsHammer · 30/11/2016 12:33

I'm also assuming Delores is the inspiration for the Wyatt storyline. And that she compelled teddy the same way Maeve (haha autocorrect wanted 'Marge') is compelling hosts.

Giselaw · 30/11/2016 12:41

So all the decommissioned hosts Dolores sees in the present, under the church... What's up with that? You wouldn't dig up an entire town and not clean up the offices under the church? I read another theory that those are all hosts that are begining to hear the voices and they follow to maze to the church.. Where Ford decommissions them. But Elsie was able to spot the ones who were talking to Arnold already, so I can't see Ford needing that elaborate of a trap to weed them out. I thought mib said hello Dolores too, and her asking William? was confirmation it was him.

Why was Dolores in trousers in the present? Was she basically sleepwalking and reenacting the past once she wandered off the ranch? So she was just slightly ahead of the MIb in present who was trying to figure out the maze as Dolores (again) becomes sentient?

Gah.
