2 years ago a thread on Our Girl was started with these words ^Anyone watching this drivel?
although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it^

40,000 posts, fireside wrestling contests, fan-fiction, autograph requests, carol concerts, CJ Grand Tours later we are about to watch the last episode of series 2. And that first post is a distant memory.

Obviously DH beardless. I seem to have a preference for small beards, mainly so I can make sure nothing is nesting in there!

Rhubarb01 · 20/10/2016 17:33

Oh goodness - just imagine the crumbs etc! Yuk, yuckety, yuk! Or one of my favourite expressions of disgust that a Welsh friend once told me ach-y fi! (pr. uck a vee) - I bet Smurf could have used that one.

pixieg1rl · 20/10/2016 17:43

Rhu, somewhere in the house there is a photo of MrP in his 20s wearing the sort of clothes that are only worn by hippies or clowns and with a full head of dreadlocks complete with beads and feathers stuck in them.

moojangles · 20/10/2016 18:04

That is an image to conjure with

Rhubarb01 · 20/10/2016 18:07

Whatever were they thinking?

Rhubarb01 · 20/10/2016 18:22

On the subject of beardy men I don't like, I actually took the OG 2 DVD out of the wrapper today despite having received it on Saturday and took a look at the prequel and episode 2 (best episode in my opinion). As I was watching the prequel it struck me that there's a bit of an oddity in there - the first part is all about Elvis meeting Georgie etc 2 years earlier before being jilted at the altar but the last part is about Abu leaving for Ethiopia. According to Episode 3 or 4 he entered the country only three or four months before the abduction of Georgie - so there's a bit of a time hop involved in the prequel seeing as we start back at 2 years ago before forwarding to the present day - ok that's my random plot thought for the day.

I was also daydreaming yesterday about how great it would be to have Georgie and Molly in a series together, seriously I would love to see two female leads doing their 'girls on tour' stuff - that would round the whole OG experience off nicely. I'd like to see both of them working with other medic colleagues on something - still got to be realistic it's never gonna happen is it!

icemistOBE · 20/10/2016 19:04

Hate beards. Full of germs and crap. I'd never consider anyone a suitable date with one.

I love a beard, but on young trendy men, not grey wispy ones!!!
I'm at the Birdy concert at the Hammersmith Empire or whatever they call it now. Lots of trendy beards and young people. I'm so out of touch. Two G&Ts and one cider £18.00!!! In plastic cups and no lemon! pix makes our Mayfair ones a bargain, with Bombay sapphire , ice lemon and a crystal glass!

Delphin · 20/10/2016 20:45

I watched the first episode of the SAS in the Jungle series as well. I found the first series interesting, with how they concentrated on a few participants every episode and the interviews with the "Directing Staff". This time it didn't click. Had probably enough with S1 :-), or maybe it's just not the right time for it (I've been avoiding the action films I bought for a while). And need to watch other current stuff like Victoria and Designated Survivor (nice, but not really political, like Borgen (DK)).

TRish47 · 20/10/2016 21:07

Oh *Rhu I agree to have to have Molly and Georgie working together would be great. If TG had any sense it would make a fantastic S3!!
Victoria starts here in a few weeks so looking forward to that. Hopefully OG will be screened at some stage as watching it on the iPad via You Tube does not have the same effect!!Sad

pixieg1rl · 20/10/2016 22:17

They aren't germy and full of crap if people wash their face ice. I had a teacher at school who was manky, beard full of dandruff, old Rice Krispies, the works. It was grim.

Hope you're having a lovely evening rich. Well as good as you can with a plastic cup of lemonless gin when one is used to the better things in life, like you are.

Ilovelblue · 20/10/2016 23:35

Evening. Back home now. The airport in Nice was chaos with all those media types heading home after their jolly to Cannes discussing TV stuff. There were a couple on our flight and they had Fleabag canvas bags but they were too far away to go and question! Bit of a shock to come back to the cold as it was 23 degrees at lunchtime.

Just for reference, beards don't float my boat, sorry....

Ilovelblue · 20/10/2016 23:43

Get you Rich and on a school night too!

Richtea19 · 21/10/2016 07:11

Glad you're back safe and sound ilove.

Yes going out on a school night is not good in the morning when I have work his morning.
Birds was brilliant she is only 20 and has a voice of an angel. Truly beautiful. A lot of her new stuff is quite rocky which is good as her sitting at a piano doesn't make a "show". I'm def getting old as I wasn't good at standing for hours. Feet/leg/back ache this morning!

moojangles · 21/10/2016 07:15

Sounds like a good night rich.
I finally had to explain my CJ pic in my office yesterday😬.
Last day of term today 😁🎉. Happy Friday

Ilovelblue · 21/10/2016 07:41

Morning. Back to earth with a bump. It feels cold and I've just put the second lot of washing in.

Talking of feeling old Rich, we were coming back on the train on Tuesday from one of our trips out and there were two young teenage lads next to us. They were plugged into headphones etc and every so often they burst into some sort of rapper's song in perfect unison. It was hilarious. My French is good but that was way beyond my comprehension. My friend did a reasonable interpretation later as it was mainly grunting and shrugging but we were in stitches. How we kept a straight face on the train I have no idea. We still laughed on the way home last night.

Delphin · 21/10/2016 07:49

TRish47: Some kind sould uploaded it to YT in HD, even. I downloaded it as *.MP4 to my PC/laptop. I used a simple YT downloader add-on for Firefox (can't find it right now at mozilla.org, but can come back with the name later). You should probably be quick, this stuff gets yanked quickly when TPTB become aware of it...

Ilovelblue · 21/10/2016 08:02

How did you explain the CJ pic mooj?

As my friend had spotted the Luke/Elvis photo on my phone screensaver and knew him from The Musketeers, she asked about OG and I found myself offering to lend her the DVD S2. Not even collected it yet as I had it delivered to work and I'm not back till Monday.

TRish47 · 21/10/2016 10:18

Thank you Delphin. I will try that. Smile It will
Be an age before TVNZ get their buts into gear for us to watch it over here. Even then it will be an edited version.

Delphin · 21/10/2016 14:55

TRish47: The Firefox add-on I use is: addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/youtube-mp3-podcaster/?src=search.
You don't need to install any extra software, and it seems to be clear of any unwanted software (it does, however, open a new tab in Firefox with the update info after an automatic update). Sometimes you need to hit F5 to refresh the YT page to get the buttons for the podcaster to show (rarely, may be fixed now).

Delphin · 21/10/2016 14:59

Despite talking of downloading all sorts of **legal stuff, I might actually buy the DVDs. Why? After listening to each episode about 3 times, I still can't make out chunks of dialogue. That was easier with S1...
(I don't get the chance very often to speak/listen to real UK accents outside of TV, so listening comprehension takes a nosedive without subtitles...).

kuiakaituhi · 21/10/2016 15:14

Trish47 The whole series is available on YouTube for Kiwi viewers. Have been getting the episodes one or two days after GB. Have been writing CJ's FF diary from NZ after viewing, no sweat..If you can't find it get back and I'll find the reference, but was easy to find, really. Full Version

moojangles · 21/10/2016 18:34

TRish47 · 21/10/2016 20:44

icemistOBE · 21/10/2016 21:08

Evening, shattered this week. Been rough. Mum is back in hospital. Her tumour has progressed and is going to be having immunotherapy starting tomorrow. Not sure what this is but it's another way to try and stop the tumour from growing.

Thank goodness for the OG world so I can lose myself for an hour or so
