2 years ago a thread on Our Girl was started with these words ^Anyone watching this drivel?
although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it^

40,000 posts, fireside wrestling contests, fan-fiction, autograph requests, carol concerts, CJ Grand Tours later we are about to watch the last episode of series 2. And that first post is a distant memory.

Thanks again Ice for the info a wonderful idea especially if CJ/MD are in it that is if this elderly lady could stand 10 weeks of the excitement!!!

icemistOBE · 10/11/2016 07:10

I'd heard a few weeks ago that 10 episodes was on the cards, nice to have it confirmed my Michelle.

Hopefully Ben and Luke and rest of them will be signed

Morning Rhubarb here. Full of cold etc but still standing, just about.

Great intel as ever ice. Hopefully we're going to get a lot more character development this time OR an incredibly involved plot! Interesting that it's 10 episodes as Poldark was also 10 this time and I've heard it suggested that series 3 of Poldark may be going out in the spring to avoid clashing with series 2 of Victoria (two period dramas alongside each other probably with the same viewing audience). I wonder if it might be going to the Sunday night slot again in September?

I watched 'The Missing' last night. Good twist at the end and I'm holding my breath to see where it ends up. Will be watching the new Stephen Poliakoff tonight and then there's the new Sunday night drama on BBC1to come this week - ooh I love a bit of a historical drama and I'm being spoiled - you'd never guess would you.

Ilovelblue · 10/11/2016 08:27

Ten episodes, wow! I saw via Google the interview in OK magazine but took it with a pinch of salt at the time as at the end it said she went off to Syria. Somebody clearly hadn't watched it properly!

There are loads of people with coughs and colds at work Rhu. I'm managing to stay clear so far, fingers crossed. Hope you feel better soon.

Rhubarb01 · 10/11/2016 08:53

Thanks ilove. I don't usually get these things too badly but this has made me feel a bit down in the mouth. Still at least it is now. Luckily, or unluckily, I've got the day off today and was planning to get some Christmas shopping done but I don't think I'm going to bother now - my sinuses are throbbing too much.

I am however, cheered and contemplating the delight of ten episodes to discuss in depth and then do watchalongs - say what you like about series two it still gave us loads of material for conversation both good and bad. Pix you had better steel yourself for a a lot of material for your Ops Tent watchalongs.

Let's hope they get most of the cast signed up - do you think Molly could just sneak into an episode or two?

kazzaD66 · 10/11/2016 12:27

It would be great to see Molly back, if only briefly, but I can't see it happening. Obviously, would love CJ back but not sure how that would fit in - would want a better role for him than mainly acting as a nanny however gorgeous Grin and must surely be promoted to Major by s3, so wouldn't that curtail his involvement in any action?

Don't know how many of 2 Section they could get back (has Fingers definitely gone to SF? ) but it would be nice to use the extra eps to flesh out their characters and relationships with each other because that was one of the things missing in S2, compared with S1. Would be happy not to see Dr Boring back and don't really care one way or the other about Elvis either! ducks to avoid things being thrown in my direction Shock

moojangles · 10/11/2016 16:34

I am loving The Missing and thanks for the reminders rhu. Hope you are feeling better.
Good news about the next series too. Crazy times with work and stuff here at the mo. Am currently downing pints of water as need to have blood tests redone & I don't share. Oh the glamour.
Hope all ok with everyone x

YorksOAP
Good evening. My hope for S3 and CJ is that he was the one to mention Syria and MK going with them
To the experts do we wish BA happy birthday I seem to remember something last year. Perhaps I saw it on the OG website. I love the Albert Hall programme always moves me to tears. Hubby and I were lucky our dads both came back. OG brought it up to date for me as I know it was fiction but gave a good insight into modern day soldiering. Will try the new programme tonight as all my other favourites have finished. I lead an exciting life don't I

Nickel45 · 10/11/2016 22:34

Ooh, good call Yorks, BA's birthday is the 12th (just checked on imdb ... my memory isn't that good!)... a couple of years ago (or was it last year?) we sent a card, but I don't think his PR company passed it on - didn't someone deliver it to them? Wonder if he'll post any pics from his birthday bash?

TRish47 · 11/11/2016 07:24

Evening all. Pouring with rain ☔️ across the other side of the world. I noticed BA posted some pics on his Instagram page. Mainly of his neices/ nephews. Love the way he refers to them as THE PIGS!
It would be great to have him back in S3. TG could take note about some of the great Our Girl FF stories relating to PTSD. That could be a story line for BA. He did state in an interview that CJ was war weary!!
10 episodes will give way to lots of discussion, I just hope that there is more army action this time and less of the Lane family. Apart from Lulu she great value.
Did I read somewhere that Angela Longsdale (?) has signed up for the seriesConfused I do hope that Molly makes a return. She will always be OG to me.
Rhu I hope you feel better soonWink we have had awful viruses over here. Not pleasant. Take care all x

Rhubarb01 · 11/11/2016 07:54

Morning (Evening Trish). Still present if somewhat incorrect but I have raided the medicine cabinet - keep drugged and carry on! (legal ones of course!)

The sun is shining and the sky looks blue so hopefully it will be a decent day. Have a good day everyone.

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2016 08:22

Morning all. Very heavy frost here and will have to sort the car out in a few minutes ready for work.

Georgie's mother really irritated me. She was more concerned about pushing Georgie into marrying a doctor than Georgie's happiness. I didn't take to her father much either. The pre-wedding speech he made was OTT and sickly.

Ah well we learn something every day. Hopefully I will remember next time I want to do it. Belated Good Morning. totally concentrating on sending pic as I had done it on my early post

TRish47 · 11/11/2016 10:56

I say bring back the Dawes family! They were down to earth and so entertaining Smile

icemistOBE · 11/11/2016 12:00

I rather enjoyed the Dawes family Grin Mum was looking out for her daughter. It might have been the wrong way to do it but her heart was in the right place

Might have to buy those biscuits Wink

The Dawes family were terrific. Great relationships and fantastic comedy value.

KeziaOAP · 11/11/2016 13:44

Yorks are the biscuits in a tin or box? ..... tin would be worth getting for
picture not forgetting biscuits Have noticed lots of stag bedding tho' not sure would like waking up to that sort of stag Shock

user1471547055 · 11/11/2016 14:20

YorksOAP
Hi Kezia,
The biscuits are in a tin so not just for Christmas and can be used all year. I don't think my lot linked the stag with my obsession!!! I think they were half price yesterday but with a very long sell by date don't think this will matter though

KeziaOAP · 11/11/2016 17:48

Thanks Yorks will keep my eye out for a tin Smile

icemistOBE · 11/11/2016 20:01

Ilovelblue · 12/11/2016 11:19

Morning all. It's quiet on here so far. Is everyone out doing Christmas shopping?

I'm just doing boring housework jobs like cleaning the windows inside. I was embarrassed earlier in the week when I realised how streaky they looked when the sun was shining on them. Then need to do a stack of ironing whilst waiting for the man to come and sort my lounge door out after the new carpet was fitted.

moojangles · 12/11/2016 12:22

Mooching about indoors today. Shopping done, dog walked & Mrmooj off to the pub to watch various sport, do I'm in charge of the tv do I can get round to watching Tutankhamun. Really enjoyed Close to the Enemy on Thursday, so fingrrs crossed Sunday programme will be good too.
Have a good Saturday
