Great ending to your FF Rhu. Sorry it's ended though.

It's quiet on here again. Everyone must be on holiday or making the most of the weather. Finished painting my shed yesterday (so exciting) but it does look completely different - more decorative and less functional - though it's actually just a dumping ground inside!

Need to make some cakes today. We have a lady leaving on Thursday and I've promised we'd have tea and cakes tomorrow as it's the only day we're all in together as things have worked out. I've been in charge of her leaving presents too. Her boss is mighty relieved he didn't have to do anything except think about her leaving speech on Thursday.

Dull but warm here today - but it keeps trying to rain every so often. At least my shed painting is dry now!

Have a good day all.

The shed looks great! We did the same with a fence on the patio. I wasn't sure at first but actually really pleased and it's a treatment too. Sun in and out today and temp has dropped a little. We are off to a lavender farm this afternoon. Taking my dad, which will be a challenge, as he doesn't walk well. I'm sure there will be somewhere for him to sit and have an ice cream.

One week to go and then Spain for two weeks with DH and boys! Can't wait!

I'm back at work for two weeks Rich then off for two weeks. We're away for a week in northern France, including a trip to Bletchley Park en route (using Eurostar) but my second week, which was originally supposed to be for just being around home, seems to have got busier and busier, so now I have one day at home after the holiday, then every other day is occupied, including an overnight stay at a spa hotel. We went earlier this year and it was a bit like Fawlty Towers, so after I complained, they offered us a half price deal for a return visit. Just hope it's better this time!

Still here ilove. The in laws are leaving today and I'm back in the office to see what sort of a mess the place is in after being away for last week.

How is Mr P's Mum pixie?

Back to work for me too and I hope it's not too busy. Don't want to get too wound up as I will be winding down at the end of next week.

I'm still here too and no new thread as far as I know ilove! Have had an awful week with DS who has been going through another separation anxiety stage and seems like he has spent most of time crying coupled with a rubbish day at work yesterday. No childcare for a couple of days so not in work till Wednesday which is nice. Back to sunshine today after pretty much torrential rain all day yesterday... Gave the garden a good water though!
May watch that first 2 minutes of fleabag again this morning Grin
Wonderful last chapter rhu, really reallt enjoyed this story and looking forward to reading again.

She's not the best ilove. She had her pancreas out last year but was too weak for chemo so they've been keeping an eye on her. She looked to be doing well but then they found more cancer on her liver a couple of months ago. She will be reviewed again in a few weeks because they didn't want to do chemo again. She thinks this is good news, she seems more scared by chemo than anything else.

I had similar at half term when I told a friend I did some writing (very vague) and MrP was all 'first I've heard of it'. Grin

If it's confession time, the elderly friend I saw on Friday evening was drooling over my photo at the flower show of Monty Don and said if she was 20 years younger she could go to bed with him - her words. I muttered half to myself that at least Monty is a real human being, not just a fictional character who I have fantasised about for almost two years!

All a bit of a secret here too although MrMads did ask the other day why I didn't read books/kindle as much anymore and seemed to read all my books (FF) on my phone Smile

A friend of mine lends me books Maddie which half the time I give back unread. I used to be an avid reader but do the ff and this thread far more than reading a real book!

I read still read my books a lot but must be significantly less than I used to if MrMads has noticed ilove Wink we have a lovely local library which I'm just about to go and abuse with DS!

Afternoon all! Just about recovered from a Saturday night hangover bbq party, bah! Unfortunately, thinking you're down wiv da kidz then paying the price for it for the following two days is not very attractive, nor is it endearing to them there kidz. That's what happens when Nickel is your role model, I suppose... Grin Grin Grin

Middle DS was at the Prosecco again, and has also realised he can balance a wine glass in the left hand whilst also quaffing Bulmers Strawberry and Lime straight from the bottle in the right hand. "Saves trips to the cool box, obvs, Mum". I can't begin to imagine what that alternate taste is like...oh no, hang on, yes I can ( Envy

Where does middle DS learn these tricks from woof? SmileOh dear glad your feeling better and hope there wasn't too much to clean up if you were feeling delicate too.

cjwoofwoof · 25/07/2016 16:51

I can assure you he's self-taught mads as I'm usually a paragon of virtue as you know. Thankfully said BBq was hosted elsewhere so we had no clearing up and I fear DSs tolerance levels have increased as there was no "aftermath" from him at all, so no bucket duty/cleaning required from yours truly lucky for me as Sunday's a bit of a blur

Anyone else enjoying Brief Encounters on itv Mondays? It's blimmin great, esp with all the 80s music. DH and I have a competition to name the singers etc. Needless to say I always beat him as he cant even remember what he did yesterday never mind the lead singer of Yazoo 35 years ago
