knocks on door quietly and pokes head round hello everyone... So sorry I've hardly been on at all. These summer holidays have really kicked my arse as I'm literally spending each day running kids around here, there and everywhere to keep them occupied and I'm basically exhausted at night.

I promise I'll get my rather rotund backside into gear when the kids go back to school in a week or so. Halo

I've seen the OG advert. It looks fab, can't wait for that plus Strictly and Poldark!!!

Hope everyone's okay. Smile

Rhubarb01 · 28/08/2016 23:22

Hi Kelly I was only wondering about you today. Glad everything's ok. I know what it's like when the kids are little and it's summer but now mine are older and prefer their own company most of the time I'm actually dreading the return to school more as it means five mornings of hassle a week as I have to get them out of the house with everything by 8.30 as well as myself. All summer I've only had to bother with getting myself to work - so much easier.

Well, you're back just in the nick of time for all the good stuff. I hope it's going to be an entertaining autumn.

I'm not sure about 'Victoria' yet. It wasn't too taxing but having had a quick read of the thread about it on here they seemed to be complaining about all the cgi which was very obvious but it would take a lot of time and cost to do everything with alternative locations. I will watch tomorrow and after that, a bit like woof said, it will have to play second fiddle to Poldark which thankfully doesn't have advert breaks!

Ilovelblue · 28/08/2016 23:24

Hi Kelly, should we remember who you are? Grin

Only joking, guessed you would have your hands full over the holidays. Good that you'll be back in time for the new series of OG though!

MaddieMoo82 · 28/08/2016 23:59

Evening allSmile kelly!!! waves frantically glad your ok and surviving school holidays.

Have recorded Victoria, wasn't sure I could concentrate for 1.5 hrs and least I can fast forward through the ad breaks. It will definately come second place to poldark next week though.
pIx that postman pat letter is amazing. I feel less manic now. Hope your feeling better Flowers

icemistOBE · 29/08/2016 10:18

So I watched the re-make of Are You Being Served? And Porridge.

Are you.... Some laughs but the humour from when it was first shown has moved on so much. I didn't really enjoy it. Porridge I half watched, but was disappointed. Hoping Goodnight Sweetheart does not disappoint

Busy week ahead, need to make sure I've everything K needs for going back to school. Seems to have come round very quickly this time.

I watched Are You Being Served too ice and found it very dated. Sort of watched Porridge but was also catching up on the ff. Three updates yesterday, hurray!

Sitting in the garden at the moment and contemplating going out on my bike as I avoided it yesterday. My excuse was that it kept looking like rain!

cjwoofwoof · 29/08/2016 15:19

Glad you've come back to us Kel

Having a lazy BH with DSs doing own thing and eldest playing footy so DH watching him too. Totally fab so far drinking latte, reading ff and leisurely ploughing through Internet shopping order.

Hmm I found Victoria a bit heavy going tbh, although I thought the cgi people moaned about was quite cleverly done and the costumes very good. Had trouble telling people apart, they all looked the same to me. But it was all a bit verbal/politics and no way will it replace Poldark next Sun Hmm

Also caught up with the revamped comedies. Porridge did nothing for me but I found Are You Being Served quite amusing. I do love a good double entendre and although the script wasn't quite there, I did titter a few times. I used to love John Inman back in the day and Jason Watkins did a fair job as Mr Humphries. 7/10 from me Simon.

Ilovelblue · 29/08/2016 16:15

woof my godmother (now at the big godmothers' home in the sky) used to boast that John Inman was her cousin. It really made us laugh as she was very prudish and totally against gays and lesbians. How she never realised his 'persuasion', we have no idea. It was the same when Julian Clary was on Strictly. She voted for him every week but never cottoned on he batted for the other side!

Rhubarb01 · 29/08/2016 17:39

Afternoon. Hope you've all had a good day. The weather's been lovely down here in the west country.

I finally managed to locate reference to the OG prequel - it was staring me in the face all the time or page 86 of the RT to be exact. They list it as a short prequel on the red button between 9pm and 10pm on Weds. I'm guessing it's ten minutes or so on a loop if that's any help.

icemistOBE · 29/08/2016 17:53

That's good to know rhu mustn't be the 6hrs that's on the Virgin guide Smile

ilove that's hilarious - she only had to see his mincing walk to know. He was the nuts along with Frankie Howerd and Larry Grayson; nobody can match them today mores the pity.

Richtea19 · 29/08/2016 20:00

Welcome back kelly, you wait until your littlies are older like mine... They never want to go out with you!

Lovely day today at a county show, plenty of cows, shire horses, dog shows and the like and you could mostly find me in the food tent adjacent to the Pimms tent! Always a lush!

Loved the last episode of Flea Bag. I'm so glad I watched it as I probably would never of done so without knowing BA was in it.

icemistOBE · 29/08/2016 20:35

Bit more info on red button show- it's showing Georgie meeting Elvis, so what went wrong between them too.

Then there seems to be a different one too, a catch up one. But not 100% sure on that.

Watching last nights Victoria, rather enjoyable.CGI is obvious but given that it's set 180 years ago, London has changed quite a bit.

Welcome back kelly. Sounds like quite a few of you have had good weather and enjoyed the bank holiday. I have had to finish/start my homework as it's back tomwork on Thursday and it's going to hurt. Am recording Victoria, as well as the Tattoo ice! Didn't watch the BBC remakes, never really got Are You Being Served and can't accept anything other than the original Porridge.
Have got the red button thingy set to record too... getting too exciited. Bit late to the what I am expecting ideas but would appreciate a couple being together, staying together and not being tempted etc-it is possible!
Enjoy the last week of the hols/almost time to go back to school

KellyHb · 29/08/2016 21:54

Evening all..thanks for the welcome back's Flowers

I missed Victoria last night. I have a thing for Rufus Sewell so I might try and get it on catch up.

Rich how was your holidays? Did the kids go with you?

I'm out of sync with everything. Shock horror question but what dates do OG start and Poldark? Is it this week for both?

Ilovelblue · 29/08/2016 22:14

I'm not a Poldark groupie Kelly so can't help you out, but OG is at 9pm on Wednesdays, starting on 7 September straight after the Bake Off. There's also something on the red button (channel 601 on Freeview but if you look back a couple of pages, I think people have listed it on Virgin and Sky as well). This is the prequel to Georgie's and Elvis's relationship apparently.

We're going to watch each episode ourselves without checking in on here - don't think we've decided when we're doing a second watchalong as yet.

MaddieMoo82 · 29/08/2016 22:16

Evening all. Been such a lovely day and managed to get out and about for a lovely walk and some cider this afternoon which was very nice Smile
Good luck everyone doing back to school prep, hope it all goes ok and you enjoy the last few days of holidays.
Still haven't watched Victoria (have it recording).. But not sure when it's going to fit in with og and poldark.
I'm still confused about this red button malarkey! ice did you say there was more than 1 prequel? And we are going for the fact it's a mistake it's on 11pm-5am then? That's what's recording on my planner! Shock
Ooh OG advert just been on again Smile

Ilovelblue · 29/08/2016 22:23

Spent most of the afternoon in the kitchen - soups from the glut of tomatoes, blackberry bakewell, roast ham and the plum chutney (at last).

Chatting to one of my neighbours tonight and discovered that another of our neighbours has kidney cancer which seems to have spread rapidly. I thought I hadn't seen him for a while but when you're at work full time, you don't necessarily see people every day.

Richtea19 · 30/08/2016 07:31

Holiday with kids kelly and now a distant past. Also rather confused about the red button but will try and work that out later this week.

ilove bet your kitchen smelt amazing last night with all the cooking going on.

I was just cooking dinner last night when our door bell went and stood there was a gorgeous tall young man, turned out to be Australian. He asked for help as a man had fallen down the track. I called DH to help but meanwhile off I went with the hunk. It was one of my elderly neighbours who I suspect has dementia, had fallen. He was just laying on the ground, in nettles (he was picking plums) DH went to get his "weird" son that lives with him, leaving me to talk to Auz hunk... There I was in a white t shirt (no bra.. No one would notice!) flirting (according to DH) with the hunk!

Such excitement on a bank holiday!!! Neighbour is fine other than a cut elbow!

icemistOBE · 30/08/2016 07:59

Morning, red button stuff confuses me as BBC have not released any info! It was BK that spotted it in the RT, then I saw it in my planned recordings on TiVo. Not sure what the 6 hours are about. Will see if I can find out later

Enjoyed, Victoria and am going to watch last nights episode this evening. Watched the Tatoo as well, quite enjoyed it Blush
