Filthy autocorrect! Smile
rich hope everything goes ok for DS today.
Looks like it's going to be a belter weather wise today... Perfect for windowless work Hmm

Ilovelblue · 23/08/2016 08:23

We had some areas of Lancashire flooded again yesterday with the torrential rain - the same houses which had been damaged in the December floods. Today is supposed to be really hot though. Mad weather.

I work in a building which is too old for a/c so the company hires in massive units every summer. They are quite noisy and I sit near one. It's like a hovercraft warming up!

Richtea19 · 23/08/2016 11:16

Mission accomplished! DS successfully got to Marseille found the consulate, his just waiting now to collect documents and then head back to nice. As much as I'm so angry with him I'm also really proud of him trekking through France on his own (I won't tell him that straight away though!)

Beautiful sunny day today shame I'm heading into work. ilove we go ear irrigation FOC at our surgery, not podiatry though, my dad pays 40.00 for 30 mins! We are in the wrong business!

Interesting info from the BBC. But why are they telling us the whole story before the series even starts? Bizarre! Wish they wouldn't do that. Still, on the plus side, CJ, in combats!

pixieg1rl · 23/08/2016 15:47

Thanks for the heads up on the whole story nickel, I'll just stare at the photo for a few weeks. Time well spent I think

Ilovelblue · 23/08/2016 15:55

Is it higher profile than it was last time round or is it just that we are more "in the zone" as it were this series? I just saw the trailers a few times for the previous series and thought it would pass an hour on a Sunday night! If only I'd known......

icemistOBE · 23/08/2016 17:45

I think we are more aware, I certainly would never have even thought of looking on the BBC website for it last time.

Ooh ice that pic is divine. Those lips...

Not watched that link yet - not sure I want to know the storyline beforehand or learn as I go. While I ponder on that dilemma I'll continue to study those lips extremely hard for the next few hours a little while

MaddieMoo82 · 23/08/2016 19:14

He's looking very lovely but the picture makes he laugh. It is very formal, the sort of thing you would see hanging in some stately home. I wouldn't say no (obviously) but I think I prefer a slightly tousled and combat wearing CJ. Smile

Berlin585 · 23/08/2016 20:05

Gorgeous pic thanks ice.

I think we're more aware this year but I also think the BBC are publicising it more too.

rich great news on the passport fiasco

woof I'll also be watching nashville. Can't wait. Though I'll have to wait till next week as away over the weekend. I might save episode 1 and watch 1 and 2 back to back!

pixieg1rl · 23/08/2016 20:37

Had a lovely afternoon at a roasting hot Hyde Hall with mooj today. She coped admirably with being dragged about by son in search of random placards and made all the correct enthusiastic noises when faced with a marquee of children's crafting. I love meeting you lot in real life Grin

We got to admire CJ in his No1s together, although I'm with mads, I like him more when he's combatted, tousled and grimy.

Ilovelblue · 23/08/2016 20:51

How exciting pix and mooj. I'm jealous now, especially knowing mooj would have been passing my junction on the M6 when she went up to the Lakes!

Re the photo of CJ in his No 1s, am I getting confused but when he was at Smurf's funeral, he was in a different uniform. How come this is a blue one?

Must agree with maddie about the stately home. He would also look good dressed like that in a period drama.

Two weeks tomorrow, 9pm, got my seat already reserved! So excited.

moojangles · 23/08/2016 20:52

In awe of his colouring skills and klanger knowledge pix and feel like a fully fledged member now that I've done a real life meet up. As for dress uniform v combats, it will always be combats for me.

moojangles · 23/08/2016 20:57

Not fluent in army but think recent pic is number 1 dress, most formal and different for different branches, funeral was number 2 dress and then combat.

Ilovelblue · 23/08/2016 21:16

I've just watched the trailer now - daren't watch it in work. Hmmmm, not sure what to think - does it take some of the excitement and mystery out of it all?

What does everyone else think?

pixieg1rl · 23/08/2016 21:28

Im trying to avoid as much as I can ilove, which is difficult when you want gawp and salivate enjoy all the excitement in the run up to things.

MaddieMoo82 · 23/08/2016 21:48

Excellent insider knowledge on uniforms moo. He just a bit too polished but won't stop me enjoying the picture.

Lots new doctors this month. I may have ogled a lot today Blush

Ilovelblue · 23/08/2016 21:51

Are they worth ogling maddie? I work in a building where the ratio is 5:1 men to women and truthfully, there are only about half a dozen worth a second glance.

Rhubarb01 · 23/08/2016 21:57

Evening. Been away for a while so just catching up on everything.

Well, the info and interviews do give a fair bit of background and some of the storyline but I'm guessing that most of that would have become apparent fairly early on and is probably no more than we would read in TV mags that come out next week. I got the Radio Times today which outlines 17 dramas you shouldn't miss - needless to say OG isn't one of them and I bet they'll be sniffy about it when they do review although the editor is a bit partial to the Musketeers so she's bound to mention D'Artagnan - sorry I just can't use any other name now! I guess they're hoping to reach a big audience so getting some of the story out early will help capture the interest of some who might have been turned off by it looking like a military drama and if it's on after GBO that's a pretty good spot so here's hoping. I'm sure we'll enjoy it whatever and will probably moan that CJ doesn't have enough lines or action but it seems clear the focus is on Georgie and Elvis etc.

Currently watching 'One of Us' - so far very damp, rural and angsty - not sure if it will sustain my interest for the whole run. I find it hard to follow some dramas with a week in between each episode - unless of course I obsessively re-watch and chat endlessly about the plot!

On another subject I see that full SCD line up has been announced. I reckon Claudia Fragapane will do well if the performance of previous gymnasts is anything to go by in SCD and Dancing on Ice and the fan base is huge for gymnastics in this country - all the little girls (mainly) begging their parents to vote for her - not to mention all that athletic ability. Hoping Greg Rutherford fares better than previous athletes but I reckon the only way to succeed in that show is to completely let go of your inhibitions and try to enjoy it even if you're not that good a dancer because the public love enthusiasm - nerves just make the viewer feel so nervous and awkward for them. Oh goodness me I'm looking forward to the Autumn - Poldark too yipee!

cjwoofwoof · 23/08/2016 22:06

Formal, informal, combats, stark bo*ck naked, I still would Grin

Glad alls well with DS Rich they really are a test aren't they, bless 'em.
Mine's got GCSEs results on Thurs - I'm dreading it Hmm

Ooh nice new doctors mads what a perk of the job. Unfortunately in my line of RL work I tend to see a lot of male flesh in the current hot weather, but more of the heavily tattooed beer gut and bum crack variety eek! Nasty...VERY nasty.

On the other end of the male flesh baring spectrum, it was verrrry pleasing to see a pic of AT in the paper today topless tin-mining. Now that's more like it, yes, yes, yes BBC!

MaddieMoo82 · 23/08/2016 22:13

Yes these ones are definately worth an ogle and they weren't even military ones. *sigh Grin

I saw that poldark picture too woof bloody lovely rubs hands together in anticipation

cjwoofwoof · 23/08/2016 22:13

Hi Rhu nice to see you back! Ditto re SCD - gymnasts are bound to have the fitness and graceful balletic background required, plus the ability to perform without feeling self-conscious etc. I read too that Will Young has had ballet lessons for years and again is unafraid of an audience so should do well . I'm rooting for Judge Rinder who's as camp as a row of tents and can probably out-daaaahling Craig into next week Grin

cjwoofwoof · 23/08/2016 22:17

Only your hands, mads ?? Tsk,tsk you need to go to the orph school of sweaty thigh tingling abrasion to appreciate that pic at its greased up and grubby underground manual handiwork best Grin
