Morning all.

ice hope you are enjoying your time with your Mum. I am sure it'll do you both good. When are you coming back?

rich what news on the passport situation?

Came back from our health spa weekend last night. Was a lovely overnight stay and didn't really want to come home. There was a wedding taking place on Friday as we arrived and another yesterday lunchtime. It made me think a bit of Jen and 'Here Comes the Sun'. There was a great outdoor spa pool - certainly wouldn't have minded sharing that with CJ/BA! Our room looked out onto the gardens so we were able to watch and comment on the outfits as the guests mingled though yesterday it was raining so we just caught glimpses of them as they were mainly in the function rooms.

Need to catch up on some housework this morning and deal with the glut of tomatoes. I want to do some gardening if it dries up a bit this afternoon as well. We had torrential rain in the night and it's still looking a bit iffy.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning, had a lovely evening with mum going over old photos, my old school record from primary school!!! She even had kept the boarding cards, hotel info and holiday information from her and dads honeymoon in Majorca in 1971.

It's hard to see mum frail and needing help with things. Not that long ago that she was so active Sad

Thinking of you ice. It's an emotional time for you.

moojangles · 21/08/2016 17:18

Blimey, I picked a busy week to have no internet!!! So excited!
ice thinking of you x and rich good luck with the passport replacing.
Been in the wilds of Cumbria with no internet or phone with my Mum for a week, back in Essex again now. Had a great time but I have missed my technology I am ashamed to say!

Ilovelblue · 21/08/2016 17:37

mooj whereabouts were you? South Cumbria is less than an hour's drive for me. Could we have met up?!!

moojangles · 21/08/2016 17:40

Middle of nowhere in Upper Eden Valley with my Mum. Could well have met up, sorry!!!!!

Berlin585 · 21/08/2016 18:26

ice thinking of you x

rich what a nightmare. I hope you get it sorted without having to resort to Mr Rich flying out.

Very excited to see new of the new series. We've got Wednesday night sown up with GBBO and OG. Can't wait

icemistOBE · 21/08/2016 22:37

Thank you all xxx

Realising that mum is not the invincible person I thought Sad Realistically, the odds are against mum with this type of tumour. Only 20% make 12 months after diagnosis. But, staying positive. Signs are small but, we do think tumour may have shrunk a little.

I'm glad I have the wonderful world of OG to run away to and forget it all for a little while

mooj it would have been a bit far as I guess you were somewhere around Appleby or Penrith way? We could have met halfway maybe. Anyway, think about it if you do it again. I hope the weather was ok. Certainly Mon-Thurs were lovely here.

Back to work today. Hope it's not too busy. I have to leave early too as I have an appointment at the doctor's over my foot problem again. I look a real lightweight as I'll have to leave mid afternoon.

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2016 10:37

Good luck back at work ilove

What news on the passport saga rich? Will he be able to get to the consulate by himself?

Fun day planned here of sorting out the filing Hmm so far I've found notes for an exam I took in 2003.

cjwoofwoof · 22/08/2016 11:15

Counting down sleeps to Nashville S4 on Thursday, can't wait to see if Deacon survived he better had as he's the only reason I watch

MaddieMoo82 · 22/08/2016 11:16

ice are you still in Ireland? Glad you able to catch up with your mum, it must be lovely to spend time with her. Try and stay positive and crossing fingers that the radiotherapy is working. Flowers
Hope work isn't too unpleasant today ilove and you get your foot sorted.
Argghh nightmare with ds richtea are you any further forward this morning? Hope you get it sorted ASAP.
Hope you had a lovely holiday mooj
pix you can come and do mine if you like. I'm rubbish with that sort of thing and have about 6 years of bank statements in a box and other paperwork in a box Shock
Normal day off today. May have to watch Mr A and his lift and thrust manoeuvre a few times today whilst mrmads is out Grin

Richtea19 · 22/08/2016 13:33

Annoying DS update.
I've made an appointment at the British consulate for tomorrow morning at Marseille his booked his train ticket 50€!!!!! The lady at the consulate was lovely, she said they would help fill out the form etc. Just worried about him traveling on his own and finding the office. The emergency travel doc is 120€, all a huge amount of cost that he will have to pay us back. Let's hope this is a massive lesson of growing up that won't be repeated!!

woof so exited about Nashville, Autumn has never been so exciting, pix you better get your slanket out ready for mass TV viewing!

cjwoofwoof · 22/08/2016 13:35

Oops forgot to say Rich the same thing happened to my friends son at Prague airport just before boarding and the authorities wouldn't let him travel etc, even though he'd shown his passport all the times necessary up to the point of loss/theft from his jeans pocket. Luckily for him, one of his friends stayed behind with him, which was very kind, and they got in touch with the Consulate etc and he flew home the next day. It was very traumatic for her at home fretting, but rest assured it did get sorted very quickly. Flowers

cjwoofwoof · 22/08/2016 13:40

Aah yes Rich I'm hoping for some of mads "lift and thrust" from Deacon in Nashville, once he recovers obvs Grin

Don't think I'm going to bother to go to bed throughout Sept as I'll need to rewatch/rewind all the episodes of all the new series in silence, on my own, from midnight to 5am probably, just to make sure I don't miss any of said "lift and thrust" of anyone else either Wink

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2016 14:22

What channel is Nashville on? Have channel 4 kept it or has it gone to Sky?

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2016 14:43

I washed the slankets just the other week rich in anticipation of British summer the autumn viewing schedules

MaddieMoo82 · 22/08/2016 14:47

Do you have more than one pix?

I'm slightly worried I'm going to have to get up before 5 every morning to get all the things done that I won't be doing in the evening! Also will be watching the majority on the tablet due to everything clashing with football Hmm

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2016 14:50

MrP and I have one each mads. No untoward fumbling under a shared blanket, I can assure you!

MaddieMoo82 · 22/08/2016 14:54

Ooh yes you wouldn't want to spoil the TV viewing would you?! Grin

cjwoofwoof · 22/08/2016 15:36

Yes pix Nashville is now on Sky Living channel and I think Now TV or somebody like it have also bought the box set rights.

kuiakaituhi · 22/08/2016 21:04

Don't think I've laughed so much in ages. Read the post on Mumsnet Talks about the wanking monkeys at the zoo. And yes, that's exactly the word that's been used!!

Ilovelblue · 22/08/2016 22:19

Evening everyone.

Work wasn't too bad today - it's quite a quiet week as it's a popular time to take off leading up to the bank holiday weekend. Had to go back to the surgery about my foot and left work at 3 pm so it's been a short day. Still not really got anywhere with my toe and was referred to the podiatrist but it was such a long winded process and they said I wouldn't be seen until October so I've done what I should have done three weeks ago and just booked a private chiropody appointment for later this week.

There was an old man asking about getting his ears syringed and was told that would be October too. He could pay £35 apparently as somebody comes in once a week for such procedures. I'm not bothered about myself as I can pay, but not all elderly people are in a position to pay. Our NHS is definitely in a mess.

ice when are you flying back? Glad to see you're enjoying your time with your Mum.

Rich let us know the outcome of the passport fiasco after the trip to the consulate.

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2016 22:59

Ahh, we don't get Sky Angry so no Nashville for me.

Leaving at 3 sounds like an ideal way to ease yourself crack into work ilove.
M

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2016 23:35

Back, not crack. God knows what my autocorrect was thinking
