Warm and sunny here in Lille tonight. It's very lively - suspect quite a few folk have arrived for the weekend. It was quite fun to hop across the border into Belgium this morning. Not a huge amount to see but it was pleasant just sitting in a cafe for a lovely lunch and pottering around a few shops. The cafe sign made us laugh.

I hate being given English menus but the waiter sussed we were English and just handed them to us. It did make me smile though... I think you'll know which one I mean!

Morning. Day of 2 birthday parties for DS today. Lots of wine for me tonight

Kids parties... Alcohol has to be a part of it!

Back home faced with massive amounts of washing and ironing and eldest DS is off to the south of France on Tuesday on his first "lads" holiday!! So quick turn around of washing, although I don't suppose he will notice of anything is clean or dirty when he picks it up from the floor

2 parties in one afternoon. Son is knackered and on a haribo hangover. I've made a start on the cider.

I wouldn't put too much energy into son's laundry Rich, a quick wash and he'll be all set. Don't forget to be the embarrassing mum and get him a big box of condoms and a pack of immodium for the holidays

Evening all. Working today but very happily finished now. Just need to pick my way through the trail of destruction after leaving MrMads, DS and the dog on their together for 8.5 hours

OMG what an end to our last full day. We've been to Arras, a place I last visited when I was 15 ahem nearly 40 years sgo. Suffice to say I didn't remember any of it. Very pretty place, hot too today. Got on the train to come back and there was one stop before Lille. The train ground to a halt in the station and there was no communication at all. My French is good but there was a lot of the typical Gallic shrugging and they all got very excitable and shouted at the guard. Eventually they laid on two massive coaches for us. We were on the first one and I asked if it was direct to Lille which it supposedly was but then somebody said it was going round the houses and would be almost two hours to Lille (I think we were about 30 miles away). We got on the second coach (even bigger, it had 3 seats one side and two the other) and it went on the autoroute direct to Lille. Got back at 8pm. Kn.....d now.

Arras was pretty though. Similar architecture to Lille but some buildings were almost Dutch looking.

Packing up for the journey home and then falling into bed.

Morning all beautiful day here. Off food shopping and then out DS somewhere to wear him out whilst MrMads immerses himself in football all afternoon.
Watched most of the cycling from the Olympics last night but was too knackered to stay up and watch the track stuff. Must try and watch episode 4 of fleabag tonight.

Afternoon, been distracted by some OG fan fiction I hadn't read, so good to read new stuff before the series starts.

Off out today with my friends from work, should be a good afternoon.

Safe journey home ilove. Beautiful day here too. I've been gardening a s can't feel my legs for all the stinging nettle stings! Spent hours and to be honest no one would notice.

Lots of air activity today as there are air shows all over be place and they seem to be using Biggin hill as a base for some of the planes.

Back to work tomorrow :(

Had a few hours with MrP taking DS away. I've done the shopping, cleaned the kitchen, made tea and done 2 laundry loads. I'm not good at this taking time for myself malarkey.

Evening everyone. We're staying near Harpenden overnight pixie as it's where I left my car whilst we've been in France and driving home tomorrow. I'm off the rest of the week too and going for an overnight spa break on Friday.

I was so annoyed at one of the Eurostar stewardesses or whatever they call themselves that I intend writing to Eurostar to complain. They are supposed to help you with cases etc and the steps up to the carriage were steep and my case fell. I asked if she could help me but she just stood and watched me struggle eithout saying a word. Luckily my friend was behind me and managed to push it up. I gave the woman a filthy look. My friend reckoned they wouldn't be allowed to help for health and safety reasons but that's twaddle as there's never been a problem in the past and we must have been on Eurostar about seven times in the past few years. Sorry, but I was really cross!

Morning everyone! Full weekend of Olympic action here, I'm loving it. Little bit in love with Juan Martin del Potro the 6'7" Argentinian tennis player who's a big whiskery Latin luscious beast and would beat Andy Murray hands down in the handsome stakes. Uncannily, I found myself watching the entire match. And don't even go there with the Lycra-clad heaven that is the men's cycling. My ovaries have received massive CPR in the last 48 hours

Oh yes woof didn't get to see much of the tennis but the men's cycling, diving and gymnastics has certainly kept me very entertained over the last few nights

Very nice photo. expression reminds me a bit of my friend Lucifer, over whom I have been obsessing tonight. Tom Ellis really does it for me...wicked black eyes, very knowing smirk sexy voice though CJ's is a tad more appealing.
I am having trouble dealing with my Catholic schoolgirl guilt history, I'm afraid. The nuns would have called TE "an occasion of sin", I am sure.

Hello from the sunny south coast! Got some wifi so thought I'd use it, lovely pic of BA so was well worth it! Can't believe how good the weather has been, spent loads of time on the beach. MrN is in full holiday mode ... meaning, of course, we have employed the magic house elves to do all the cooking, clearing up, making lunches and general hullabaloo that goes with getting him and two kids sorted! or so he seems to think, it appears!. Caught a bit of the Olympics last night, Jean Martin dP was rather scrummy, woof, wasn't he :) DH watching football on his phone (!) so planning on seeing if there was much talent on offer today 😀
