Not seen the Terminator so not an issue for me. Though I did keep seeing her (now and again) as the character in Fresh Meat at the most unlikely moments.

Middleoftheroad · 14/06/2016 17:35

Part of the joys of these forums is speculation. I was so disappointed at all the hrs invested on the Syrio rumours that I have been brooding. And watching this week's episode. Still happy Arya's going home.

Nonetheless I'm still pouring on wild speculation faster than The Waif in a 200m hurdle race:

I did laugh out loud at the chicken comment too. Love The Hound.

A youtube video speculated that Qbyrn (even his misspelt name is flamable) was referring to the true identity of HS (though you will note that around 230am during the live streamI typed in Wildfire!)

They made reference to Cersei being in the Red Keep. So if KL burns she will be separate. Rumour that Tommen jumps out window. Dumb cunt, as HOund would say.

Also noticed that Jamie told prickface outlander Edmure Tully "the things we do for love". When he pushed Bran out the window in ep1 he said to Cersei "the things I do for love" (I think)

Also speculation that Davos finds Shereen's toy so hoping he does kill the red lady. He cannot go.

Also a wild prediction that Battle of the Bastards could mean Gendry.

Middleoftheroad · 14/06/2016 17:43

Mumanddad - read synopsis. Didn't Shireen also give Davos a toy or maybe a book to take with him? Either way he's going to find out what Mel did and rip that choker from her elegant porcelain neck!

Middleoftheroad · 14/06/2016 17:57

Good preview. Another noticed the Moose sidil on Jon's side. Hornwood I think?

RJnomore1 · 14/06/2016 18:03

Gendry! I forgot gendry! Was trying desperately to think who else was a bastard last night... They've done a fair bit of misdirection this series so far.

WeDoNotSow · 14/06/2016 18:09

I've just read this and this stuck out:

And this was the heart of my disappointment: despite realizing that the High Sparrow is flawed and Melisandre is flawed and all other religious leaders in this show are clearly imperfect, I found myself secretly believing the Faceless Men were somehow better than all of the other religious orders. I couldn't believe that Jaqen would ask Arya to kill an innocent actress because another jealous actress could afford it; I couldn't believe that Jaqen would tolerate the Waif's jealous vendetta. There must be another explanation! I wanted to believe

But in the end, I was wrong. As George R. R. Martin's story has showed us time and time again, despite the best intentions of reigious orders, they are ultimately just religious institutions created and operated by flawed humans

That was this thread all over Grin

TheNorthRemembers · 14/06/2016 18:16

Wedonotsow That is a good one.

CaitAgusMadra · 14/06/2016 19:09

Yes v good - also like their analysis of Jamie's actions

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 14/06/2016 19:36

In the books, doesn't the Blackfish swim away? Might he have done the same here? He could be doing breaststroke under Brienne's boat

ClashCityRocker · 14/06/2016 20:16

Yes he swam away in the books. Not particularly fussed either way.

Don't know if it's because of being so out of synch with the books - some things happening that happened aaaaaaaages ago in the books and some new stuff but this season seems to lack cohesion - there doesn't seem much in the way of storylines, just 'snapshots'.

For fans of lady Stoneheart, the riverrun shit in the books happened before lady Stoneheart came on the scene. So there's still a chance, but in the books she was resurrected by Beric - don't see why thoros can't do her too though.

SolomanDaisy · 14/06/2016 20:28

Blackfish seems to be dead, there's an interesting interview with the director in the wsj where he says he wanted a samurai ending between him and Brienne, acknowledging their honour code, and showing the death would only have distracted from that.

Lady Stoneheart can't possibly happen now, she's been dead for years in the show so her body would just be rotten. She'd already rotted a bit in the books.

Mumanddadtoone · 14/06/2016 20:34

This just came up on my fb feed

Inyourhead · 14/06/2016 20:36

Hi, just delurking to ask about the hound making the chicken comment, what did he mean by that? I'm really enjoying the thread.

SausageSmuggler · 14/06/2016 20:37

My only thought re: LS is that she may have already been resurrected and is brooding somewhere else.

TheNorthRemembers · 14/06/2016 20:38

Thank god for no Lady Stoneheart.

I'd like to point it out though that in show universe the Red Wedding was max 9 months ago, and no more than 2 years passed since it all started with Robert going North.

WeDoNotSow · 14/06/2016 21:02

I couldn't stand her when she was alive, I'm guessing she's be more even more irritating now she's dead.

SolomanDaisy · 14/06/2016 21:21

No, it's way over two years since then. That's why they had so many characters mention the passing of years in season 5 (e.g. Myrcella saying, 'Dorne is my home, it's been my home for years.' And Tyrion saying he hadn't heard anything about Dani for many years.) The first season alone must be nearly a year, based on Dani's pregnancy.

EverySongbirdSays · 14/06/2016 21:26

It was Beric brought LSH back in the books. His reappearance seems to indicate that's why he's back.

I wonder about Cleganebowl. It's only ever existed as Fan Hype maybe D and D asked GRRM and he was like nope, was never the plan.

Why does something that was only ever hype seem like such a let down?

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 14/06/2016 21:34

And didn't Edmure say he'd been a prisoner for a year? And his baby is already born after being conceived that night. In the books she was still only pregnant when this conversation happened - so they're actually speeding everything up. Not sure why tbh.

Perhaps in case people start picking holes in how long it takes people to make a Journey from Point A to Point B?

ElspethFlashman · 14/06/2016 21:37

I don think LSH will be back without major character changes. In the books she was a Revenge Robot. And it was clear that resurrection strips away your humanity as Beric had forgotten what his wife had looked like etc.

But in the show Jon and Beric are entirely unaffected. So they couldn't make LSH much different either.

And yes she was a sanctimonious pill in life, so don't fancy more of that.

pyrowall · 14/06/2016 21:44

I remember reading somewhere that each season represents a year in time

They may have speeded up things since though

WeDoNotSow · 14/06/2016 21:47

Also, everyone asking if Gendry is still rowing? I hope so, until his name is pronounced with the soft G that logic tells it's pronounced with...

SolomanDaisy · 14/06/2016 21:48

Edmure says he's been a prisoner for years, I just checked. I suppose LSH's body might have been somewhere it was preserved. Did anyone see the thing where the Arya and Sansa actresses tell two truths and a lie. One of those was LSH. here

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 14/06/2016 21:56

Well I'd like to play a game called 'who does Qyburn remind me of?'

No seriously, who??? It's been pissing me off for years!

OlennasWimple · 14/06/2016 22:04

Is it bad to admit I don't much care what happens to Rickon?
