Oh please if one of the lannisters must die met it be cersei cos tyrion is a great character and jaime is hawt (shallow)

Bittersweet ending - Davos is going to end up King isn't he? All he wants is quiet time on s nice beach...

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 15/06/2016 21:02

I think cersei will burn KL then either she kills tommen accidentally by trying to save him from the faith and jamie kills her OR she burns KL and tommen kills her (also the little brother...)

weirdsister · 15/06/2016 21:06

Cersei will do something dreadful. Then Jaimie will realise that Cersei is not really the woman for him after all and go after Brienne.

weirdsister · 15/06/2016 21:06

I'd love Davos to be King!

SolomanDaisy · 15/06/2016 21:12

I've just watched the scene to check (thanks HBO on demand) and her atonement is for the sin of adultery with Lancelot, which she confessed. Her trial is about the allegation that her children are born of incest with her brother. I wonder if Tommen knows.

SolomanDaisy · 15/06/2016 21:13

Lancel, not Lancelot!

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 15/06/2016 21:19

Has tommen not realised that if cersei is guilty then he's an incestuous bastard?

8dayweek · 15/06/2016 21:19

Is she also on trial for a hand in Robert Baratheon's murder? I thought Lancel admitted to banging Cersei and giving Robert the strong wine that Cersei supplied whilst squiring for Robert on his hunt.

Surely the Faith would have taken Jaime into custody if the two of them were accused of incest?!

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 15/06/2016 21:22

Tommen strikes me as a bit dense. He could well know that the trial is for incest but either think that his mother is innocent of it, or it has simply not occured to him that it would mean he is a bastard and not the corrct heir

SolomanDaisy · 15/06/2016 21:26

The HS doesn't mention regicide in the scene I just watched (last episode of season 5), but possibly he does in another scene. I can't remember if the wine thing happened in the show as well as the books!

Jaime confessed to a load of shit to the HS, didn't he? And the HS did nothing. So may be he chooses his victims for their usefulness.

QueenOfThorns · 15/06/2016 21:32

Cersei is absolutely going to do something dreadful! They've got her backed into a corner now and she's going to want to take everyone else down with her.

I think the ending should be King Bronn Grin

BonerSibary · 15/06/2016 21:34

Tommen is more than just a bit dense, surely?

RJnomore1 · 15/06/2016 21:34

I liked the theory up there that cersei burns kl and tommens jumps out the window.

OlennasWimple · 15/06/2016 21:45

Where does any of that leave Margaery, one wonders... Married to Littlefinger...?

EverySongbirdSays · 15/06/2016 21:47

I have a suspicion that Dany will turn out to be mental and that the whole point of the show in the end is that it doesn't matter who has the throne power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely

I think the ending will be hugely dissatisfying because that's sort of the point.

Cersei Season One : "In the Game Of Thrones you win or you die"

There's loads of examples of people who are fit to rule :

Davos
Jon
Sansa would make a great queen
Tyrion

but they don't have the power, those that do have the power aren't particularly fit.

Cersei
Dany
Baelish

etc

I think either Cersei or Tommen will die this year, technically it should be both as Cersei lives to see Tommen's death as prophesied.

Do the Faith Militant kill Tommen for being a bastard and take the throne and then Cersei fucks up a bitch with the Wyldfyre - a bit too much has been made of her Peter Andre qualities for her to kill him - but then she gets burned too and Jaime killing her is a mercy killing. Oooo I'm going down this road

Bringing us to Jaime marrying Margaery - serial queener and shagging Brienne on the side.

FAN FIC!

OlennasWimple · 15/06/2016 21:53

Brienne is too honorable to be the Other Woman....

8dayweek · 15/06/2016 21:53

I think Cersei will be in it until near the end. I think she'll be killed by Dany - the younger, prettier queen as foretold by Maggi the Frog

8dayweek · 15/06/2016 21:56

I do think I'm getting book / series / fan theory blur though Confused

TheNorthRemembers · 15/06/2016 21:58

In the original plan by GRRM Jaime does take the throne. But in the current state of affairs, he flees from power at every opportunity.

All hail King Davos, first of his name! Helper of Little Girls, Sayer of Home Truths, Smuggler of Onions, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm.

QueenOfThorns · 15/06/2016 21:58

Tsk! Margaery will be Bronn's queen and Jaime and Brienne will go and live happily together in Tarth.

I'm torn between Cersei's Peter Andre qualities and the fact that she's a complete fruitcake. I think it's about 80% certain that she'll kill Tommen, but whether it's 'for his own good' or an accident, I'm not sure. The latter would be really tragic for her, even I'd feel a bit sorry for her if that happened.

AgingJuvenileBinkyHuckaback · 15/06/2016 22:04

I'm liking the idea of a Bronn/Margaery power couple. I think their skill sets would match quite nicely, and they'd have a lot of sex.

EverySongbirdSays · 15/06/2016 22:09

Isn't the younger Queen Marg though? Well it could be either, Marg could be a Red Herring.

I still think Sansa and Tyrion could be end game, ruling Winterfell
Jamie and Brienne for Casterly Rock
Jon and Dany for Kings Landing

OP posts:
TheNorthRemembers · 15/06/2016 22:13

Brienne will do more than just be the Other Woman, I am sure. They all have to learn something. Jaime is learning the value of honour. Brienne is learning that there are more important things than honour. Remember what Aemon Targaryen said to Jon:

"What is honor compared to a woman's love? What is duty against the feel of a newborn son in your arms . . . or the memory of a brother's smile? Wind and words. Wind and words. We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy.”

Jaime is not being persecuted, because the HS only goes after women. Their ideas about the poor are commendable, but I hate their misogyny. Also Jaime is meant to be very popular with the army, and the HS is not stupid. I know on the show random people keep mocking Jaime, but in the books he is meant to be charismatic, and people happily die for him as a commander. (Mind you he leads from the front.)

WeDoNotSow · 15/06/2016 22:13

I do think the younger more beautiful queen is Dany.... I'm the book Cersei internally wonders if it could be Margaery and then decides against it, because, even thought she concedes she is pretty, she has boring brown hair and brown eyes like all the peasants, and Cersei has golden Lannister hair, and green? Eyes, which is more beautiful as they're rarer. So therefore enter Dany with her white/silver hair and purple frickin eyes!

EverySongbirdSays · 15/06/2016 22:18

Yaaasssss

But frankly, I don't see how Cersei would even REGISTER with Dany her dragons and her Dothraki horde let alone be a focus.

The way things are going, Cersei will be long gone before Dany makes land
