I'm re- reading the books, it's amazing how much you pick up on the re-read that went over my head first time round.

When Sam and Gilly leave Crasters Keep with the baby, Crasters older wives say that they need to leave or the Others will come to claim their brother (the baby). It wasn't til this that it really struck me that they are brothers

The other thing that jumped out at me was about the 3 eyed Raven. Jon has a dream where he sees his brothers face in a weirwood tree and a crow flies down and opens his third eye. He then wargs into Ghost for the first time and sees the wildlings gathering. In the book it doesn't specify which brother but leads you to believe it is Robbs face he sees. Now of course we know it must be Bran. Meaning Bran as 3ER has gone back in time to make sure Jon can warg into Ghost. So he definitely will be influencing events in the past (not sure whether to use past or future tense in that sentence!!)

WeDoNotSow · 02/06/2016 10:50

Yes, they made Gilly protect him as Mance is 'King beyond the wall' and as there's 'power in a kings blood' and we know how Melisandre draws her power...

NuggetofPurestGreen · 02/06/2016 11:27

Songbird I don't think Edric Storm got sacrificed in the book - I think it's him who got sent off in the boat and is still rowing. So they just gave Gendry that storyline.

EverySongbirdSays · 02/06/2016 11:55

Yeah, Nugget, I had to go check after I posted and they've basically emalgamated Gendry and Edric as they seem to have with Coldhands and Benjen.

Coffee love your theory it seems to point to Jon though.

He is both lowly and of dubious parentage RIGHT NOW.

The Nights Watch is run by criminals, outcasts and the illegitimate by and large. Jon is believed to be the bastard of Ned Stark and some whore he wouldn't name (rumoured to be a Dayne, rumours squashed, many thought he only acknowledged Jon so he is mother must have been highborn)

Right now, only Bran "knows" the truth and even he only "sort of" knows via his 3 eyed raven stuff and hasn't had THE VISION yet (episode 10, I wager)

If any DOESN'T fit Azor Ahai in terms of a Jesus narrative, it is increasingly Dany

Great theories. I love reading them. Baby Sam is so beautiful!!! But I also think it will be Jon.

The Indy translated titles of the last three episodes from the German HBO website.

They are

  1. No one
  2. Battle of the Bastards
10. Winds of Winter
EverySongbirdSays · 02/06/2016 12:48

BASTARD BOWL IS ON!!!!!!!!

Read a feery today that Lady Stoneheart is happening, but NOT because they are giving her actions and story (minus the Zombie bit) to Sansa

We could be waiting another series for Clegane Bowl

OP posts:
WeDoNotSow · 02/06/2016 13:08

They have an episode called Winds of fucking winter???
Cheeky bastards

TheNorthRemembers · 02/06/2016 18:21

Maybe we'll get a publication date after the finale [looking wistful]

I suppose we'll spend episode 9 cheering Jon on and shouting insults at Ramsay. Then in episode 10 it all becomes meaningless. The Wall comes down thanks to Bran and the whole of the North gets wiped out. Baby Sam will be fine wherever he is at the time, because he would survive a nuclear holocaust.

EverySongbirdSays · 02/06/2016 18:29

I heard today they are going for shorter season orders for the next two and conceivably last seasons. Which is sad.

I have EVERYTHING crossed for a TWOW announcement this month. I admire the way, with some exceptions they are very much still on book or things that are long standing fan theory.

The only big shock this year has been Hodor.

RJnomore1 · 02/06/2016 18:36

Bastard bowl is Jon v Ramsay yeah?

Can't believe there's only three episodes left this time.

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 02/06/2016 19:04

Isn't it 4 left?

PurpleTraitor · 02/06/2016 19:06

Reading the early theories on this page about Drogo coming back from the dead and that being dany's destiny/prophecy

Drogo has come back from the dead. He rose from the fire.his name is Drogon.

ClashCityRocker · 02/06/2016 19:37

Looking forward to the last few episodes, can't wait for the battle of the bastards!

Grand finale will be a Wight-out I reckon.

The kings landing storyline is getting rather dull though.

RJnomore1 · 02/06/2016 19:50

Ooh yeah it is four Blush I can't count

EverySongbirdSays · 02/06/2016 20:41

I would cheerfully shoot that bloody High Sparrow myself if I could, he's out stayed his welcome so much more severely than Joffrey did or Ramsey has

OP posts:
BelfastBloke · 02/06/2016 22:18

7 episodes in next season seven.

maggiso · 02/06/2016 23:35

I am worried the high sparrow may be significant. I hope not, but this is GOT.

EverySongbirdSays · 03/06/2016 00:42

For those who want it - there is a TINY spoiler on the cast listing for this episode on ImDb - episode called A Broken Man Grin

OP posts:
WeDoNotSow · 03/06/2016 00:57

Everybird I've just looked and I can't see what it is Blush
I'm feeling particularly dense today!

Middleoftheroad · 03/06/2016 08:56

Ooh is it McShane? Feeling dense too. His name is there but not the character.

Right book readers tell us about his character please....and if he is bringing the hound back tell me all anout the Gravedigger pls...!

Trills · 03/06/2016 08:57

Valyrian steeel - wooooo!

Poor Sam's-mum-and-sister, they seem nice.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2016 09:37

Is it Tim McInerny as Robett Glover? I can't remember if he's ever appeared before but the Glovers are one of the lesser great houses of the North, so probably that's who Sansa's speaking to in the trailer - she must be starting her attempt to drum up support to fight the Boltons.

McShane's character - in the books there is a monastery (if that's the right word) somewhere near the place where Arya took ship to Braavos. The abbot there seemed to be protecting a tall, silent monk who many believe is the Hound. Could the abbot be McShane's character? If so, we could be on track for the Hound to return. He's one of those people we didn't see die, so it's anybody's guess whether he did or not. Far too good a character to have lost, so I hope he did survive, and I especially hope he meets Arya again. Great combo.

Middleoftheroad · 03/06/2016 09:45

Thanks Gasp was also wondering who Glover is. I agree re the Hound. He's a great character and as it looks like Arya's returning, that could be fun (not to mention CleganeBowl).

One of the ep7 preview sites said they thought they saw the sidil of Bear Island on the clip. I'd like to know more about The Mormonts too. Is there much on them in the books?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2016 10:02

The Gloves hold Deepwood Motte, which the Greyjoys had at one point.

Mormonts: Jeor was the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch who acted as mentor to Jon. I think he joined up after his wife died because he was lonely. Jorah is his son. Darcey (?), who is the current Mormont chief, is Jeor's daughter. Jorah disgraced the family for love of a woman who turned out to be no good, and was disinherited. He had money troubles which he sought to solve by selling some prisoners as slaves, which is forbidden in Westeros. Ned Stark would have beheaded him if he'd stayed in Westeros, so he took off for Essos and became a mercenary.

Middleoftheroad · 03/06/2016 11:56

Thanks Gasp would be good to see Jeor's daughter and get a glimpse of Bear Island. Will add that one to the list.....Smile
