Now that could be interesting...

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 30/05/2016 22:17

I don't think jaime would be in the line of succession - the lannisters never had the crown apart from through cersei's marriage. Their offspring only have it because they are supposedly baratheons. There would be a power vacuum, nobody would accept jaime due to the incest and kingslaying. Maybe margaery would try to keep the crown as the queen but I don't know how they would feel about a lone queen. Daenarys may be different or she may face the same difficulty.
I think tommen dying would bring about a new struggle for the crown involving a new raft of applicants, possibly euron greyjoy, daenarys, Jon snow if his parentage is revealed (though I don't think he'd much want it)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/05/2016 22:17

IMDB has the cast list for this episode. Three notable new characters:

James Faulkner - Randyll Tarly, Sam's dad
Samantha Spiro - Melessa Tarly, Sam's mum
David Rintoul - Aerys Targaryen

I've never watched Peppa Pig (I expect many of you are envious of this) but it says that DR is Granddad Dog / Dr. Brown Bear / Mr. Bull. He was also Darcy in the BBC 1980 Pride and Prejudice (completely eclipsed by the 1995 version).

James Faulkner - Lord Sinderby in Downton Abbey

Samantha Spiro - Detective Taylor in London Spy a few months ago

Cerseirys · 30/05/2016 22:32

The Lannisters have Baratheon ancestry, so that's how they'd stand to inherit. Actually, not sure Jamie can though as he took a vow when joining the Kingsguard, which would leave Cersei in line to inherit. Unless of course Uncle Kevan is older than Tywin, in which case it'd be him!

Cerseirys · 30/05/2016 22:35

No hang on, after Jaime it would be TYRION who'd stand to inherit!

Ooh those photos are good...

What if the R +L = J isn't right and the baby in the vision is that baby? Could it being turned have some kind of importance?

is it in the nursery with all the others

QueenOfThorns · 30/05/2016 23:12

So, if Jaime isn't in the Kingsguard anymore, isn't he now the Lord of Casterly Rock? Surely he can inherit, get married and have more little Lannisters? Although obviously Cersei wouldn't be pleased!

I can't believe it's David Rintoul! Dr Brown Bear's voice makes me go all funny Grin

AgingJuvenileBinkyHuckaback · 30/05/2016 23:20

I think the baby might be important because there's something important about Craster's line being used to create new White Walkers. They brought up the subject of Gilly's father this week and maybe??? that's because there's a plot point to it over and above the obvious nightmare.

NeedACleverNN · 30/05/2016 23:23

I asked last week if we knew what happened to the babies yet but I don't think anyone knows

maggiso · 30/05/2016 23:50

There may be a plot around Gillys baby. In the book there are 2 baby's at the wall, gillys and the king behind the walls orphaned baby son, both loved and cared for by Gilly. I won't say more, but I suspect that plot line could be significant.

RJnomore1 · 30/05/2016 23:51

Ooh Gillys baby might be Azor ahai?

Does anyone know how many seasons of the to series there se going to be, it's feeling to me like we are positioning for end game and I'm wondering if the next one is it?

Giggorata · 30/05/2016 23:55

I'm wondering about Gendry... Although a bastard, he's still Robert's son. Also, a smith, which makes me wonder if he might learn the secrets of Valyrian steel, which could be significant for the final battle against the White Walkers..

Middleoftheroad · 31/05/2016 07:48

Well if they did resurrect Stannis....
But I'm convinced he's dead.

BelfastBloke · 31/05/2016 07:58

Received wisdom is that there may be two shorter seasons after this one.

So maybe:
This season 6: 10 as usual
Season 7: maybe 6?
Season 8: maybe 5 or 6 to conclude the story.

Bet there will be a spin-off, probably GRRM's 'Dunk and Egg' stories.

MaterofDragons · 31/05/2016 08:02

I thought baby samwell and wight walker baby looked the same so it makes sense they're brothers.

Middleoftheroad · 31/05/2016 08:02

I want it to go on! But I don't want it to go all Lost in a scramble for satisfying answers that never come.

I found this breakdown of Bran visions helpful. Interesting they say wildfire explosion could be the future...

MaterofDragons · 31/05/2016 08:14

Perhaps the Night King is Crastor's ancestor? That's why he needs/wants the male line.

Middleoftheroad · 31/05/2016 08:19

Good point Mater there has been much emphasis on young Samwell. Good job Sam has that sword.

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 31/05/2016 08:37

Baby Sam and white walker baby are more than brothers, they are also cousins, uncle and nephew and any other combination you can think of! They are practically the same person by this point in the incest pool

NeedACleverNN · 31/05/2016 09:36

Amazing that baby samwell is normal then really and has no defects from incest.

schbittery · 31/05/2016 10:39

im really confused now. Are Benjen and Coldhands 2 separate people/things? I was sure in the books they are the same person?

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 31/05/2016 11:09

In the book we don't know who coldhands is yet. In the show, we haven't met coldhands, only benjen. Putting 2 + 2 together leads to the conclusion that coldhands in the book will turn out to be benjen.

EverySongbirdSays · 31/05/2016 11:55

What's more confusing, is why Benjen's spent 2 years wandering round Beyond The Wall alone.

Why though?

Why?

Amazing that baby samwell is normal then really and has no defects from incest.

Indeed. Especially when you consider Gilly's mother may also be her sister.
