Think the point is if they drown they aren't worthy of throne though jeep

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 25/05/2016 19:33

I wonder if Yara will be on her way to Dany first to tell her about Euron's and his cock's plan and to ask Dany to back/protect her in exchange for the ships?

TheNorthRemembers · 25/05/2016 19:35

I think they all drown, but the Drowned God lets the worthy come back.

"What is dead may never die, but rises again harder and stronger."

ShellSuitonBonfireNight · 25/05/2016 19:45

Ha ha! I never picked up on that...I'm still like but what if they ALL DROWN? Who will be King then?

rockabillyruby82 · 25/05/2016 20:09

Not sure if this has been said yet. Bran could hear Meera calling 'Hold the door' Bran tried to warg into Holdor to get him to move but he used the WRONG Hodor. Whilst he was in young Holdor he could still hear Meera, as could Hodor

TheNorthRemembers · 25/05/2016 20:12

ShellSuit You are totally right. That is why we are not Ironborn.

EverySongbird That is interesting. Victarion is not in the show, so you are right, it could be Yara who sails to Mereen. Although I have to say I liked how businesslike Euron was (not at all like in the book): I have ships, she needs them, I want a wife. I know it is not that simple, but there is more logic to it than most of the storylines (like Sansa agreeing to marrying Ramsay for no good reason at all - I do not blame Sansa, I blame the writing).

JeepersMcoy · 25/05/2016 20:20

I do think that as far as plans go Euro's sounds reasonable unless you actually know Dany (which he doesn't, bless him)in which case it is laughable. I sort of want to see him try though. She will eat him alive :o

Shell I just imagined them all standing around the dead body saying 'fuck, that's another one gone. Do you think we maybe should just go for a bit of a paddle next time?'

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/05/2016 20:46

There is an episode this Monday isn't there? I know in the US they skip a week for Memorial Day, which is usually around the same time as our second May bank holiday.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/05/2016 20:46

They usually skip a week, I meant.

RJnomore1 · 25/05/2016 21:18

Yes I've just checked and it's on on Monday

Highsteaks · 25/05/2016 21:19

I thought that the whole 'Branception' thing was to do with Bran 'planting an idea' - isnt that what they do in Inception? Is it generally thought that the Whispers that the Mad King Aerys heard ('burn them all'?) is actually Bran? Why would he say that thought? Is it to do with the White Walkers?

EverySongbirdSays · 25/05/2016 21:24

I don't think it was me posted about Yara going to Meeren North I looked back a page and cant find it so now I am confused.

I don't think she will go to Meeren

I think they'll go Team Stark

Possible wishful thinking there

OP posts:
EverySongbirdSays · 25/05/2016 21:31

And now I've gone back PAGES and can't find who posted about Yara going to Meeren.

Confused
OP posts:
ShellSuitonBonfireNight · 25/05/2016 22:03

Jeepers Grin "Maybe just splash water at him next time."

TheNorth I could never be Ironborn, such a muted colour palette! Wink

TheNorthRemembers · 25/05/2016 22:30

I am so sorry. It was SagaNoren's idea that Yara may go to Dany. Off to bed before causing more trouble. It is pathetic to be this shattered on a Wednesday night.

Still giggling about the Jeepers's sweary Ironborn.

Rowanhart · 25/05/2016 22:43

I just read the Sansa fibbing to Jon thing as she'd have to tell him she'd knocked back the support of Knights of Vale and that would make her look stupid.

EverySongbirdSays · 25/05/2016 22:49

Yes that too Highsteaks also Bran calling out to Ned. None of it is 'Time Travel' in the TARDIS/Deleorean sense which is why I used Inception as the example.

What he does is more Vision Quest/Dreamscape/Matrix type thing - than Time Travel

OP posts:
boilingkettle · 25/05/2016 23:14

I've not read the books so apologies if this is really stupid, but could Bran's be the voice that the Red Priestess referred to when talking to Varys? If he's going to be zipping around whispering to people in the past? What could he have said?

EverySongbirdSays · 26/05/2016 00:02

It's possible kettle

I think it had something to do with Azor Ahai/Prince That Was Promised which would explain Varys having links to Illyrio Mopatis (who sheltered Dany and her brother) and Varys being of service

OP posts:
Highsteaks · 26/05/2016 08:01

Like someone said upthread, I can't get my head around how long ago GRRM must have created Hodor with 'hold the door' in mind!

TheNorthRemembers · 26/05/2016 08:34

Well, a lot of people think that Illyrio / Varys/ Illyrio's late wife are Targs (hence the bold head and knowing the Red Keep so well). So the message may be, as it was suggested before, about The Prince That Was Promised. As this is the prophecy that drove the dynasty into self-destruction.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 26/05/2016 09:22

When I heard Richard E Grant had been cast I was convinced he was going to play the mad King in a flashback. He would have been perfect, and I'm genuinely gutted that he's just been cast in a side role - what a wasted opportunity!

QueenOfThorns · 26/05/2016 09:35

You lot got me so wound up on the last thread that I was actually relieved by the ending! I was just glad that the bad things weren't happening to someone I care more about (sorry)!

I don't think that Bran harmed Hodor on purpose and I don't see any reason why he shouldn't just wake up as himself next episode.

I do have one question though (please excuse my dreadful memory) - if Coldhands wasn't in it, who helped Sam and Gilly get back to the Wall?

ElspethFlashman · 26/05/2016 11:54

Gosh yes, REG as Aerys......that would be fun!

Convinced he must play a role in Arya's storyline. He must be the client. I bet Arya kills him instead out of a sense of twisted morality.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/05/2016 11:56

I wonder who could play Aerys? There's not been any casting announced but the part cries out for a cameo by a "name".
