Was anyone else caught off guard by the close up of the shaved ball sack? The actor was practically straddling the camera.

BuunyChops · 24/05/2016 09:12

it was a bit full on wasn't it

Mommawoo · 24/05/2016 09:22

It really was! I usually enjoy a bit of male nudity as its much rarer than seeing females get their kit off, but I was eating when it popped up in all its HD glory!

Middleoftheroad · 24/05/2016 09:28

TheNorthRemembers
Thanks for filling me in aboult Coldhands and for the excellent info re the enchantments on the wall. Now that will be interesting! Hope Coldhands does appear - we know how the show likes to try to throw us off the scent a bit though it's not as sly as Walking Dead or Lost yet (I too agree that if the whole saga is a Bran vision I will go all Wight on the producers).

NuggetofPurestGreen · 24/05/2016 09:43

Is Coldhands not in the show?? I totally thought he was. But just shows the book writing is vivid enough to trick me into thinking I saw it on the show.

TheNorthRemembers · 24/05/2016 10:11

Well, yeah I do not really know. But I believe Benjen would make more sense.

Blood of my blood will be the Tyrells as well, who are incredibly close-knit.

DeepFriedFlamingo · 24/05/2016 10:12

Thought I would share this Grin

I too, thought Coldhands had been on the show... as like a guide

For reference

Wights/Zombies - Same thing
Others/Walkers - Same thing
Nights King - the bloke who gets stabbed at the tree
Night Manager - Probably James Bond

They didn't use the term The Others i think, because of the Confused difference between Where are the others? and Where are The Others?

also LOST had The Others

I was so surprised by the cock I thought it was fake.

I've been wondering since seeing a "end of Summer, winter is HERE" meme (very clever person), do you think all of the dire wolves names have a meaning. Especially since undead jon's is called Ghost!!

Then we have sansa's Lady, Sansa is no longer just a 'lady', she has an army, and that was set in motion from when lady was killed?

Arya's Nymeria was a warrior queen of dorne. Will have a read up on her now...

Then, hmm, shaggy dog...

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 24/05/2016 11:58

Aha, nymeria fled the war by sailing away from it (arya...). She then took over where she had landed - dorne

EverySongbirdSays · 24/05/2016 12:14

A Shaggy Dog story is like a tall tale though I don't know how that works for Rickon

I have just understood what the implications of Branception would be and what you all meant. ( a bit slow I know)
NOOOOOO! If it is Branception, I'll refuse to read Winds of Winter.

Apparently Hodor had young Wylis's mind at the end. That is why he seemed lucid. Also Bloodraven was powerless to stop Bran blundering into the Lands of Always Winter and getting seen, as he wasn't there. But D&D said that Bloodraven tried to upload his knowledge to Bran.

EverySongbirdSays · 24/05/2016 12:52

There's elements of Branception in the Hodor story though

Hodor becomes Hodor because of Bran when Bran's father is a boy/Bran doesn't exist/several years after Bran's father had died/when Bran is in a dream state

Simultaneously.

We could have another kind of loop scenario. Bran can't get back into his own body because he can't will it to happen without the aid of Bloodraven. So he wanders where we left him in the dream lands (Winterfell 30-40 odd years ago). He wanders round there and tries to influence events, eventually whispering to the Targaryen king, trying to warn him but instead it sends him potty.
At this point Meera who has to find some help as she can't drag Bran on his own drags him through the Wall and to The weirwood tree at Winterfell either in a pretense of burial or hoping she knows what she's doing.
Going through the Wall with the mark breaks the Walls magic.
Now at the tree Bran can go to any time and wargs into young Bloodraven who goes to the other tree to wait for Bran and practise greenseeing.
At the point Bran wargs into Bloodraven older Bloodraven/ Bran can now warg back with 1,000 years more experience and do the job properly.

Or Bloodraven is gone, Bran is disembodied because he doesn't know how to get back. The other events are the same as above except he never gets back but the tree sustains him for 1,000's of years and he can go any place any time and whisper and gently nudge events. Thus a twisted way of fulfilling his mothers words of a Stark must always be in Winterfell is achieved.

Or Brans lost in space and what will wake in his body is Bloodraven.

Or he's not going to wake up for a while as he's just got a lot of information to process but he will still wake up Bran and Bloodraven is dead.

No matter which one it is, even if its something else its got to involve crossing the Wall with the mark and making things a hell of a lot worse first. That seems to be Brans MO now. Lots of power and little idea how to use it, which is also a running theme throughout the show.

IAmNotAMindReader · 24/05/2016 13:00

Oh and as Summer has now ended with the symbolic death of the direwolf when he wakes up he will have more of a clue as it signifies Brans coming of age as well as the start of Winter.

TheNorthRemembers · 24/05/2016 13:26

You must a mind reader, you know.

Whatever Bran does though, history does not change. From the trailer: "The past is already written. The ink is dry."

TheNorthRemembers · 24/05/2016 13:27

EverySongbird Of course, you are right. But I do not want Branception to be the whole story.

EverySongbirdSays · 24/05/2016 14:27

Imagine events happening out of sequence, and being powerless to stop them though, because it's already been written and yet hasn't happened but HAS happened.

Mindfuck.

I think I need to have a little lie down now that I tried to imagine it.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/05/2016 16:30

That's all making my head hurt. But it would be like in the Outlander books where anything Claire does she's already done, so she might as well do what she wants because she can't see what effect it's going to have.

EverySongbirdSays · 24/05/2016 17:41

It's like in Time Travellers Wife were he keeps travelling back to the moment his Mum dies, he knows she will die, and he knows he can't stop it, but it's happening as if it's RIGHT THEN and not years ago and it's actually both.

That's what happened to Bran

I love the Time Travellers Wife but I still have questions about that. I don't want to be left with questions about GoT, I want solid answers when it ends!
