*remember

WeDoNotSow · 02/05/2016 13:08

I think warging is a Northern thing rather than a stark thing, and when I say North, I mean north of the wall mainly.

I think among the wildlings it's known but extremely rare

WeDoNotSow · 02/05/2016 13:09

Yes, she's still running round with her mega pack I think D0g

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/05/2016 13:11

As far as I can recall, JS is killed on the last page of the last book. Ghost is there, but we're still in suspense about what's going to happen to JS as far as George RR Martin is concerned.

Thanks for the Ian McShane clarification - I was expecting that development, actually! From what we saw in King's Landing in Ep 2, he's much needed. Nobody else should take that monster out.

Look what happened to Robb and Catlyn after going back on a marriage arrangement- what will Walder Frey do when he finds out what happened to his daughter and grandson? Actor who plays Walder is coming back, just unconfirmed when! I too had to fast forward the kennels scene. Roose should have killed Ramsay first! I thought the final scene was great, and they managed to build up some suspense.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 02/05/2016 13:15

That's what I thought Gasp was just checking if Westley knew something I didn't.

Don't think was last page but it was the last page of the night watch chapters. There was someone else killed after JS in the book which hasn't been on the show (not sure if the character even in the show).

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2016 13:16

The manner of Walda and her son's deaths were entirely in keeping with the sort of person Ramsay is. He would have definitely killed his half-brother and probably his stepmother. A less sadistic person, or someone who just wanted to avoid dirty work, would have had a functionary kill them - even Joffrey did that - but Ramsay would definitely have set his dogs on them and watched.

Also are we allowed book discussion on this thread? We were on the last one but i am afraid of the spoiler police Wink

PreviouslyMal · 02/05/2016 13:17

Nymeria, Arya's dire wolf, is head of a huge pack of wolves heading north in the books, she also found Catelyn dead in the river outside The Twins after the red wedding, that's how Thoros brought her back, because Nymeria pulled her body out.
I thought the part with Tyrion and the dragons was fab, it made me smile.

WeDoNotSow · 02/05/2016 13:18

Oh shit Nugget I forgot about that!!
In the epilogue!!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/05/2016 13:20

Yes, Walder Frey will be furious about the disrespect to his family, not about the hideous treatment of his daughter/granddaughter/whatever the poor woman was and her son. Sad However, who's going to help him? After the Red Wedding, he can whistle for any support he gets from the surviving Starks and Tullys. The Lannisters are well on the way to being a spent force. I hope he meets a very nasty end indeed.

The Pyke story is actually from the book, as far as I can recall now. There's a fair bit more of that to come, if they stick to the books. I rather like the Greyjoys and the Ironborn, even if they do make me feel cold and shivery by association every time I see them.

Agree limit I don't think the scene was gratuitous, but entirely in line with the character.
I thought that scene was pretty wonderful actually, not the content obviously, but the way the tension and suspension was built, even though you didn't actually see anything IYKWIM

NuggetofPurestGreen · 02/05/2016 13:23

Yes I am glad they've started the Pyke storyline, I thought it would be dropped altogether as they've given the greyscale storyline to Jorah instead. I love Victarion hope he shows up next week.

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2016 13:26

I'm not the spoiler police - what a pleasant way of describing people - but I'd prefer not, because I haven't read the books. But if most people want to, then go ahead. I'd appreciate a heads up in the title though and then I just won't click Smile

NuggetofPurestGreen · 02/05/2016 13:29

Sorry limited it was just supposed to be a joke after the other thread got a bit heated Smile. I just wanted to check as I'm sure people were discussing books on the other thread and there has been some references on this thread too.

It's a funny situation now as the books are mostly concurrent with the series but there are a couple of things that could happen yet in series so perhaps we should be careful.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/05/2016 13:32

I also loved the bit with Tyrion and the dragons. I see Peter Dinklage has his name first in the credits, which I don't think was the case in previous series. Quite right too. I can't think of a single other character who is more likely to survive to the last episode of the last series, except possibly Daenerys.

OP posts:
Missushb · 02/05/2016 13:40

Peter Dinklage has had top billing since season 2 I think, after Sean Bean left!

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2016 13:43

I've just seen the other thread nugget, so my apologies to you too Smile. I think it's clear that both threads were for people who'd seen the 2am screening. I don't understand why you'd click on them if you hadn't viewed. I binge watched all of Line Of Duty - I just avoided threads where people wanted to talk about it.

A few seasons ago I used to get fed up with people quite deliberately putting in GoT book stuff because I think some people were doing it to be smartarsed, but I don't mind it so much now because I think the TV and books have now parted company. It doesn't matter to me to read about Lady Stoneheart because to a TV viewer, she doesn't exist.

WestleyAndButtockUp · 02/05/2016 13:45

I was the one who blithely said that Ghost was involved, in the books.

It doesn't actually say that. What it does say (in the prologue to the last book published?) is HOW someone can warg into an animal even after their body dies. And it also makes clear that there is a very strong psychic connection between Jon and Ghost (which the TV series hasn't established).

Thus, that is the most logical way for all this to occur.

Not just some wet wipes.

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2016 13:48

I was sure Jon would wake up but I thought he might have bright blue eyes. I don't know whether I'm imagining it, but I'm sure his luxuriant chest hair disappeared under the Red Woman's wet sponge along with the blood. I'm going to have to watch again.

I agree Westley
Damn, the show really missed a trick by NOT making Ghost mute, How good I thought it was hearing him howl after Jon was dead, and I was wrong.

WeDoNotSow · 02/05/2016 13:56

Downstairs
I think he'll still be a 'Jon S', do you?
